The BESTBBQ you will get your hands on! I travel a lot for work and have tried food from all over but this is by far one of the best places to get some great barbecue food from. They also have great service, very friendly employees! The location is great for me as well but it is a bit of a hidden gem. If you live in the area and haven’t been here you need to try this asap!

Delicious ribs, great sides! You must give it a try! You won’t be sorry! Generous portions and super fair prices. Don’t pass it up!

I ordered the beef brisket and spicy sausage(two meat combo). I selected coleslaw and fries for the side order. The restaurant is cozy and appears to be family owned and operated. The service is a bit slow but nothing to complain about seeing only one person was preparing the food. The food itself was okay. The portion size was huge. The BBQ sauce was okay nothing special. The beef was scooped on top of two slices of white bread… The coleslaw was okay and the fries are thin sliced wedges. I was not impressed with my meal which is why I use«okay» to describe the taste and flavor. I’ve had much better BBQ beef and sausage elsewhere. There was a constant line of people entering the establishment at the time which solidifies how popular the place is in the area. The location is up on a hill, going towards Rolla and the parking is somewhat weird but it’s in an area where the parking isn’t an issue but there is a big tree dead smack in the middle. The prices are reasonable and the staff were friendly but what I didn’t like much is when the lady preparing my plate made jokingly comments about my name as she completed my order. That was very unprofessional and inappropriate. For that reason and for the food being mediocre, I will not be visiting this place again.

Ate at Sweetwater on a Sat night.(I was here many years ago, and decided to give them another try.) They are right off Exit 163 on I-44. The exterior can be deceiving, as the seating area is not very big, but the restaurant was not crowded. You order at the counter, grab a table and they call your name when your food is ready. Based on other reviews, I went in expecting to order catfish, but that is not longer on the menu. I ordered the Combination Plate of two meats, pulled pork and spicey sausage. Sides were green beans and coleslaw. With a drink it came to $ 12. The pork was room temperature, with a very slight smoke flavor. I couldn’t identify the wood, but it did not seem to be hickory. Hint of a smoke ring on the long strands of tender meat. I asked for the BBQ sauce on the side. It was ketchup based with a good amount of molasses. I am a fan of North Carolina vinegar based sauce, but this sauce was a nice change of pace. The spicey sausage arrived steaming, but I’m not sure why they call it spicey as it wasn’t. The sausage was okay, but nothing special. The green beans were very, very good. Probably had to do with the amount of ham in the beans! The coleslaw was good. The staff was professional and fast. This was pretty much as I remembered it, middle of the road BBQ. So I am still looking for a good place in this part of the state.

Great BBQ, fast, cheap, and huge portions. The establishment was very clean, and the service was great. If I’m ever in town again, I’ll definitely be back.

Oh, man! This place is The Bomb! I don’t live in MO anymore but have family here. I always try to stop in when visiting. The pulled pork is freaking amazing. I like to pick up a pound or so when traveling to meet the in-laws. They appreciate it too! It’s great.

Short and to the point. The ribs were gummy and my whole meal was lukewarm at best. Had the hillbilly beans as a side and they weren’t even warm. The sausage and pulled pork was tasty though. Service wasn’t overly friendly as well.

Meh. I’ve had better. I’ve had worse too, though. We got the pulled pork sammages and they were okay. Pork tasted a little more like crock pot BBQ than smoked BBQ and the slaw left a little to be desired. Bad attitudes behind the counter. As well.

Loved it! Had the Sweetwater Special(pork, sausage, & ribs w/hillbilly beans and green beans). Didn’t care for the white bread that it was served on but it was so much food it didn’t matter as I didn’t need it. Docked a star for lack of a full service dinning room… but that has nothing to do with the food. Great BBQ for a fair price in my opinion.

Not the most inviting looking place when you pull into the parking lot. They need some flowers or a pink pig or something. Don’t be discouraged. Inside might be due some loving tender care also because it seems a little drab. Don’t be discouraged. Order a Sweetwater special for $ 9.95 but only if you are hungry. They served two huge meaty ribs, enough ham for two and plenty of sausage. Everything was cooked to perfection. Tender ribs, tasty ham and tangy sausage. Beans and slaw were terrific. Other choices are available but I chose these three. I also ordered potato wedges and they were marvelous and a bargain at $ 3. One of the few times I have had to have a to go box. If you are headed up I-44 and hungry, I suggest you look for Exit 183. Sweetwater BBQ is right there. You won’t be sorry.

The sauce is good but the ribs are boiled first which kills it for me because I can taste the difference.

Some of the best BBQ you’ll find for quite some distance. Had pork, beef, beans, potato salad and ribs. Sides were ok, meat was great, but the ribs were some of the best I have EVER had! Just order ribs when you come here you will be impressed.

Thank God for highway signs or we would have driven right by this gem. I am too busy eating 2 write right now and the way to delicious to stop eating to write this. The term the meat falls off the bone definitely applies here their barbecue sauce is totally yummy and not have to be bogged down with too many choices they basically have miles and spicy which makes it really easy to just make a decision and start eating

Yummy yummy yummy. Pretty good sweet barbeque, especially since St. Robert has pretty terrible food choices on weekends and in the evenings. If you come on Sunday they have extra sides like cornbread and cobbler. Definitely worth the visit! All plastic silverware, cups, and plates. Nothing fancy here.

We waited 30 minutes for 2 adult plates and a child plate. The food came out cold. The beans and barbeque sauce was the only thing warm on my plate! If my food would have came out warmed up im sure it would have been good! I’m disappointed I was hoping for yummy barbeque instead ehhhh not sure I will go back…

By far the best BBQ in St. Robert and one of the better meals, too. Popular«locals» place with the gents stationed at nearby FLW. Quick service, reasonable and good portions. Great place to share a pitcher of beer, some ribs, pulled pork or brisket and unwind, maybe catch a ball game on the TV. Nothing fancy, not a chain, just a good old family run BBQ joint with a smile and great ‘Q. Just like it should be! Even better, you pass this big monstrosity of a titty bar complex lit in neon along the highway on the way there that looks like its right out of the Porky’s movies. What a way to set the mood for the meal!

I joked to friends that if you are eating with plastic forks and knives on paper plates with a roll of paper towels on the table you know you are eating really good BBQ. ANDYOUAREHERE! Great food. I ordered the three Meat plate for lunch. Delish! Had leftovers and the heated up nicely the following day. There is no waitstaff, it’s just like a pizza joint. Order at the counter and go grab a table.

I wished i lived here… The only reason i’m even IN St. Roberts, MO, via Atlanta, GA, is for my daughter’s basic training Graduation at nearby Fort Leonard Wood! But i KNEW the whole time, that i HAD to try some BBQ while i was visiting! I really thought i was going to have to stop by St. Louis to experience Missouri’s famous bbq on the way back home, but FATE had another thing for me! Just so happens, my hotel was located behind SWEETWATER’S! You know i had to do a search on Unilocal, and to my surprise, their were plenty of positive reviews! I figured it HAD to be fate! As soon as i could, i paid them a visit. I knew i would be ordering some ribs! I ended up with a rib/chicken combo dinner. The place looked nice and clean, and had a friendly staff! My food came pretty quick. I opened the container and liked what i saw. Nice, big, meaty bones with a nice smoke ring and visible layer of seasoning covering them! My mouth started watering… aw man… I took my first bite and good God… meat pealed off clean. Sooo much FLAVOR! The chicken looked and tasted delicious also! My side(fixins!) were the coleslaw(very good!) and the Hillbilly beans(also very good!) Needless to say, i was very impressed, and give Missouri bbq my respect. So sad i will probably NEVER get to eat here once i leave… but thats tomorrow so i can make another trip before that! Oh, if i had to gripe, it would be that they close at 8, but i guess that’s how its done in small towns!
