Firestone Complete Auto Care

This is my «GO TO» location for all of my minor/​common car care needs! The staff is always courteous and service is always prompt! I recently got my oil changed and as usual… great service!

I used this shop several times, paid them over $ 4000 for services they were SUPPOSED to render in automotive repair. They did great replacing the suspension on my truck, but when it came to my a/​c, they claimed they could not find one of the a/​c lines to replace a badly rusted component. They kept saying they needed more time. Truthfully, they did not want to deal with my vehicle. It sat behind their shop for eight weeks while I waited (after paying them $ 1500) for the repair to be done. I went online to
this year, not even a month ago, and found the part myself for $ 80. The worst part is that this shop told me they could do the repair and they did not fix the problem for me even after I paid! I finally picked up my truck and drove it to another location and explained what had happened. I had to call another Firestone located off of the Grand Parkway between Sugar Land and Katy to get them to fix it. I drove it over there and three days later it was done. They had to replace a bad heater core in the dash and remove leaves from the blower fan housing, as well as a dead rat. It looked fine from the outside when I got it back and the a/​c worked, but not even two years later I am driving the truck and the a/​c stops working after I’ve gone about 10,000 miles following the repair. Keep in mind it was not sitting idle during the period following the repair. I found out that they had kept an important detail from me about the repair; there was no screen or air filter to keep leaves from getting sucked into the blower fan/​heater core housing following the repair. They had not installed any kind of air filter or screen to keep the leaves out. This cost me $ 45 for the blower fan motor and another $ 10 including shipping for the blower motor fan resistor (which is basically like a giant fuse with a circuit board attached, it is mounted on the firewall). The other Firestone I went to billed it back to this location and I did not have to pay anything additional for the repair, but the service I received at this location was pathetic. I am normally a quiet, reserved person, but they had me pay and then did not complete the repair for me after saying they would. The rest of this is not a review of this location, but what I had to do to fix their mistake. I DO NO recommend using this Firestone location. You are far better off going to the one in Sugar Land next to CiCi’s Pizza.
What I had to do following the visit to the second Firestone location (2 years after):
I frequently park under trees and you know that leaves fall. Little did I know, the leaves were settling on the base of the dash and getting sucked into the blower fan housing. This caused the blower motor resistor to burn out because of the constant strain of the leaves being dragged through the a/​c fan and blown into the cab through the vents, but not before clogging up the a/​c condensate drain hose near the heater core. This, of course, caused the passenger side of my truck to flood in the front and the floorboard rusted. I took most of the dash apart to get the bad blower fan out and remove the leaves from the blower fan housing. I fixed it myself and it took about two weeks working a few hours a day and ordering the parts from
I am not affiliated with them, but they are a great source to buy parts for old cars. The autoparts store does not carry parts for my truck because it is old (1993). Anyway, I improvised my own a/​c screen and filter for about $ 20 total, all of the parts used to improvise screens were found in Walmart’s hardware department. You can get them at pretty much any hardware or home improvement store. I put a screen on the a/​c air intake opening using 3M Exterior mounting tape with adhesive on both sides. I then put two layers of highly weather resistant plastic screen, they same type you use to cut screen for windows on your house, on the wiper motor inspection cover and the sub screen under that. Additionally, I applied ½ inch weather stripping to the wiper motor inspection cover at the top edge of the inspection cover below the windshield and another ¾ inch strip just above the inspection cover along the length of the windshield below the wipers to insure that none of the leaves or debris from trees or otherwise could get down there again. The solution was very effective.

My wife and I were in the store for an oil change. No appointments, just walked. We were treated courteously and professionally, got the exact service we needed and throughout the visit we did not feel that they were trying to force up-​sell anything. Our overall impression is that this is a trustworthy place and will definitely come back.

I have had my last 3 set of tires mounted and balanced here. I had a flat, but it couldn’t patch due the location of the puncture. They installed the full size spare at no charge and put everything in the trunk back. I dropped my car off for alignment, but the alignment machine broke later in the day so they could not work on my car. The manager give me discount on the next visit without me even asking. I have had very good customer service here.

While the service is good, they try to charge you more for oil change even if you have a coupon. A 19.99 coupon for oil change will end up being 35 $. Even without a coupon it will be very similar. I guess it is expected from a store like firestone. I hope this will end when more electric cars are on the road.

This is my absolute favorite place to get my car serviced for basic maintenance (i.e. oil change). When I call to find out if they can work me in, they always are honest about the time and wait. They are extremely friendly and try to get you in and out as quickly as possible. Most of the time that I come to this location, I’ve been out before the scheduled time. AWWWW-​SOME! I usually can save a little money too by downloading a coupon off Firestone’s website, OR completing the customer satisfaction survey that comes at the end of the receipt. $ 10 off $ 25 is serious change my friend! Even though I don’t live in the area anymore, I usually schedule my maintenance around the time when my job finds me in close proximity to driving by. You can’t beat good service and savings!!!
