Palais Royal

This small store is great for shopping for casual looks or jewelry. The associates are very quiet but friendly. They will ring you up and the shop closes early on weekdays.

It is tiny, so their selection is limited. But from what I saw, at the very least, what they had was certainly cute enough.
I was driving to work yesterday morning going over all the things I knew were stashed away in my closet. I’m unhappy with nearly all of it. I knew I needed to do something about it before the day ended and had plans later on that day, so I kept my eyes peeled for any small boutiques and stores that would be nice to go to.
I haven’t stepped foot into a Palais Royal since I was 9. My mom is the type to demand the finest when it comes to birthday/​holiday presents. She has gone into a rampage before about her gifts not being good enough and likes to break things when she was angry.
I distinctly remember my last trip to Palais Royal because it was terrifying. My mother decided that she wanted perfume for Mother’s Day. Nice perfume. It was extremely hard for my brother and I to produce nice things for my mom because he had a $ 5 allowance every week and mine was $ 10.
So my brother and I hopped on our bikes one Saturday after pooling all the money we had together and biked for 4 miles in the hot sun during one of Houston’s most epic droughts, ever. We biked next to a high traffic road by some homeless people living under a bridge and made it to Palais, where the sales rep was happy to assist two hot and sweaty kids after we waved some green around to show her we meant business.
Since then, my impression of Palais was that it was expensive (because everything is expensive when you are 9) and not worth going back to.
I was persuaded to go after finding a 25% off coupon online and because the selection was small, it made hunting on my lunch break that much easier. I grabbed 3 dresses, tried them on, liked one and made my purchase.
Don’t go if you don’t have a coupon though. If you buy these clothes full price, it just isn’t worth it.
