Sam’s Pizza & Subs

This place came recommended is Unilocal reviews and Siri. The 25 min drive was certainly worth it as cost vs quality was fantastic. For under ten dollars, you can get a quality hot sub and fresh hot fries (or chips) and enjoy the taste.
They have a very large lunch menu, surprising for an Italian place. I had a hard time figuring out what to get. Their pizzas were buy one get one and I don’t think I was quite ready for a full dinner plate.
The parking is kinda shared with a gas station on a small multi business lot. Not too bad, but something to note.
You can apparently get delivery, walkin right to the counter and takeout, or stay a while, watch some TV and sit at a table.
The staff was friendly and I had no issue with the bill. If you dine in, your server handles all that for you.
I definitely plan on recommending this place to others and plan on checking back in with a review on the pizzas.

This is our go to place. We eat here at least once a week and have never been disappointed. Always fresh and yummy! Very friendly staff too!

I LOVEEEE this place! I have always done carryout because I didnt realize they also deliver. But the employees are always so friendly and helpful! And you cant beat the buy 1pizza get 1 free deal!

Poor customer services. Just wants to get you off the phone and transfer you to another location so they don’t have to deliver to you. I’ll never use Sams again. Jays pizza and sub on 17 is so much better

I order from here whenever I want pizza. They have great wings and pizza and no one can beat their buy 1 get one free deal!!! The pizza is really good to boot! Defiantly give them a try

This is coming from a long time fan of Sam’s… so I am torn to write this.
Ordered a sandwich to pick up. Typical lunch scenario for me, only thing is, this time I came a bit early.
Walked in and watched the cook handle my food with his bare hands… wiped his hands on his pants, using his hands with no gloves to put the meat and veggies on the sandwich…
Looked over to the cashier and he stated to me that this was very sanitary and does not cross contaminate versus using gloves… I was like wow… the worst part… the head cashier lady said the same thing to me.
I just walked out and didn’t make a scene.
No more Sam’s for me.

We just moved here and have been trying many places around stafford. We will be coming back to Sam’s. The food was great, so far the best sub I have had in this area.

Very disappointed with my most recent visit to Sams! Got my usual grilled chicken caesar salad and the chicken was dry! They didn’t have their usual vinaigrette caesar dressing but instead a mayonnaise based dressing.
It’s safe to say I won’t be getting their salad’s anymore! If I’m craving a Gyro I’ll possibly give them a ring!

This was such a disappointment, mainly due to the girl who answered the phone and took our order (May 1 at 6:30 pm). She was so distracted she had to ask for our phone number three times. We ordered a speciality pizza, a veggie pizza. She then asked two more times what we ordered and she finally repeated our order, apologizing profusely for not paying attention. She then told us that we get two for the price of one. She then asked again what was our original order. I told her speciality veggie pizza. For the second pizza we chose the all meat pizza. Unfortunately, when the pizza arrived, it was two all meat pizzas. This did not settle very well with my wife as she is a veggie person. So, if you do order from Sam’s you better be sure you are speaking to someone who really cares about what you order. Very, very disappointing especially after traveling 400 miles.

My family ordered from the Jefferson Davis Hwy location last night, and the food was amazing! We had the cheese sticks, childs menu cheese pizza, Italian sub, and the turkey club triple decker. Very reasonably priced and delicious, and the delivery was much quicker than anticipated. Totally recommend this location for delivery!!! Hands down, best Italian delivery I have had in the MD/​VA/​DC area thus far.

We’ve ordered from Sam’s twice in the last week and received both of our delivery orders in half of the time promised. The food and service was great.

We have now eaten from Sam’s twice. Their hot subs are the best we have had, onion rings so big and juicy and their bolognaise sauce is delicious. We live in Dumfries, but each time we make a trip down we will now make an effort to stop again. Yum!

I work near Sam’s and have eaten there regularly for almost eight years. I have never had a bad meal, and am impressed with how long most of the staff has worked there. They have very little turnover which says a lot about the place. I love their cheeseburgers!

This place makes one of the best gyros I have ever had! It’s tasty full of flavor! Literally leaves you lusting for more !! This is the SAMs by the tanning place. I can’t say enough about his place! The salad is delicious and light, Danny and Sam know how to spice things up at this joint

Delicious pizza for it’s value, big menu with other delicious offering. The steakbomb is exactly what it is. Bomb!

Where on earth are these good reviews coming from??? The pizza is barely passable, the girl that usually takes our orders acts like she is doing us a BIG favor, and the delivery service is marginal. The pizza sauce is terrible, the crust is soggy, and the toppings are barely there. The chicken wings are dipped in some kind of batter… uck…We have put up with Sam’s because there is nothing any better (that delivers) in our area. We have been ordering from them for about 5 years on a weekly basis, and always tip well. (5 or more dollars depending on the order.)
***This last time, the driver claimed not to have any change and wound up getting a $ 12 tip. I can stand a mediocre pizza for convenience sake, but what I cannot stand is a dishonest delivery person. I guess we will go to a competitor and just pick up our orders. (As another reviewer wrote, there is another pizza place within two miles…) One thing is for sure… we will be getting better pizza that way, and won’t have to deal with dishonesty and rude service. Hey Sams, you aren’t the only game in town.

This Sam’s is our favorite. The best service of all their places. Sometimes a bit busy for lunch but worth the wait. The food is typical Sam’s but always good.

This SAMs (next to the courthouse) is simply amazing. We stopped by for dinner last night and ordered pizza, steak salad, chili cheese fries, Philly cheese steak and shrimp wraps. The food was delicious, fresh and big portions for an excellent price. The food was served hot and fast.
Great customer service and friendly staff especially the owner. Would definitely recommend this place!

Not bad, but also not good; about on par with national chain pizza joints. Unremarkable, forgettable.
You might have been able to convince me to give this place 2.5 or 3 stars if if it weren’t for the absolutely amazing pizza just half a mile down the road at Family Pizzeria. So there is no reason to go here unless you’ve run out of gas.
