So so good! I have this habit now of searching Instagram for interesting food options when I’m going somewhere new/not there all the time, and I found gofer. I was going to Stamford to have dinner with my friend, and I’d been craving ice cream lately. Not that there aren’t plenty of ice cream places in NY, C but for whatever reason I hadn’t gotten any lately. So I made an effort to save room for dessert so we could go grab some ice cream after! When we got there it wasn’t too crowded. There were a couple people in front of us, but that was good so we had some time to peruse the flavors. And they had a bunch of flavors! The kid working there was helpful and answered my questions(like why is there a birthday cake 2, but not 1?) and offered me some samples tastes. I forget what I tasted now, but it was all good. My eyes were a bit bigger than my stomach and I settled on getting two scoops in a cool cone. I got an M&M cone that tasted more like a biscuit than a cookie, with a scoop of cookie monster(blue with cookies) and candy bar. It was really good! The ice cream was great, and the cone was good too. I didn’t finish the whole entire thing, like I said my eyes were bigger than my stomach. They have other ice cream options too, along with shakes and soft serve. Hopefully I’ll be back and get to try some other things!

Great ice cream and choices for those who are allergic to eggs which is a plus for my family. The young people who work there are always a pleasure, courteous and helpful. You got lucky with your crew.

The soft serve ice cream here is so creamy and has just the perfect amount of sweetness. The tub ice creams taste homemade and I have always been given a generous scoop so I’ve always left really happy! I will say though, if you are a fan of really sweet, rich/heavy ice creams, you may not find what you’re looking for; this is simple, well made ice cream and that’s why I love it.

We frequent gofers with our kids. The ice cream is excellent and the staff work quickly and efficiently. The line always moves fast. Very clean store. Love the gofer bites that can be found in the case The mint ice cream covered in chocolate are a favorite our house.

I guess I’m a bit of an ice cream snob, since my diet prefers rich, high fat foods as a way to lose and maintain weight rather than low fat frozen yogurts with tons of added chemicals and high fructose corn syrup… Whatever the case, Gopher is more of the former, judging from the Chocolate chocolate chip cone I just had. The prices are reasonable for home-made ice cream and the chocolate is definitely one of the best chocolates I have had in a long time. Far better than store brands like Haagan-Daz and Friendlys. The ice cream melts easily(illustrating the rich composition) and has a wonderful chocolate flavor and creamy texture, exactly how REAL ice cream should be. The single scoop portion is adequate… I have had several places recently which call a «small» a giant single scoop but this is just a normal scoop that’s about the size of a racquet ball. I arrived 15min before the posted 12:30 opening time posted on the door and the owner unlocked and allowed me in to review their flavors as they continued prepping for the day. Another half dozen customers had already been in and out by the time I finished my ice cream 10 minutes later, quite busy! I will be back! I love«real» soft serve(not Dairy Queen ice milk) and I’m hoping this lives up to that as well. Judging from the reviews I won’t be disappointed! We need to remember to keep mom and pop type businesses like this alive, especially when they provide a high quality product for a reasonable price. There are«hershey’s» and«giffords» ice cream shops on every corner across the state, but good homemade” ice cream is a lot harder to come by. If you’re in the area and want a nice treat for the family, «Gopher» ice cream, you won’t be disappointed.

My partner and I love Gofer Ice Cream. Even during the winter months, it’s our favorite ice cream shop. The selection is always great, but we can’t get enough of the Chocolate Peanut Butter, and now that there is a Frozen Yogurt version, we love it even more. The staff is always friendly, even if we are coming in near closing time. And now that I’ve written this review, I am craving some ice cream …

Worst experience ever! Took my daughter for ice cream there last summer and forgot my wallet. Told the manager I would be right back, and he said to give the ice cream back and he would give it to her when we returned. «Don’t worry Daddy, I have money» my five year old tell me. She gives the manager three dollar bills. «Sorry, that isn’t enough for the ice cream» he tells her. Will NEVER go back again. Unbelievable.

My two scoops were pretty well priced in my eyes — I had a topping, a trial spoon, and friendly helpful service. It was Friday night and I didn’t have to wait in a long line to fill up on my craving, so I’m happy!

They got us in 5 minutes after they were supposed to close. We share a scoop of the snickers flavor. It was pretty good. I would return again to try a different flavor. Price was reasonable.

My family and I frequently get ice cream from Gofer when we’re in the mood for a sweet treat. We usually go on the later side(after eight) because the place can get chaotic when busy. This is a result of the limited seating and the fact that people are served by group rather than by individual. If several big groups show up at once and you end up behind them, be prepared for a bit of a wait. That being said, the servers are usually friendly and several of the ice creams are worth the wait. Gofer offers a large variety of ice cream flavors, Razzles(which are like Blizzards), chocolate and vanilla soft serve, sundaes, shakes, and eight or so sorbets. I’ve tried several of the Razzles and would recommend either the brownie or Oreo one with vanilla ice cream. On the other hand, the Snickers Razzle is less successful. The candy pieces tend to stick together because of the caramel, which makes them a real mouthful. If you’re getting a Razzle, be prepared for a generous serving of ice cream: even the«small» is quite large. The soft serve is also very good; however, resist the urge to order a shake. It’s made with the soft serve, which results in it having a strange, airy texture. The quality of the hard ice cream at Gofer really varies by flavor. Best are ice creams made with a chocolate base. The chocolate ice cream is incredibly rich, and has a fantastic dark-chocolate taste(I’d say its one of the better chocolate ice creams I’ve had). I’ve also enjoyed the Java Brownie Surprise: the coffee ice cream is on the sweet side, but still tasty, and I love the combination of chocolate, coffee, and toffee(Heath bar and brownie pieces are mixed into the ice cream). Less successful was the Chocolate Cherry Sensation: the cherry has a cheap taste to it and was crystallized the time I had it.

Gofer had good, intensely buttery and rich soft serve. I’m glad I moved out of Stamford, because we got into the bad habit of going for Razzles all the time(those are the soft serve things with the pieces of tasty stuff mixed in). We really liked the Razzle with Oreo pieces– they were really fresh and crunchy. I think I might like Carvel’s soft serve better, just because it’s a little less rich and maybe a little sweeter(and I grew up on it), but stop in anyway. Haven’t had a chance to try much else but the soft serve.
