Island Breeze

Very good food. fried dumplings and chicken patties are delicious. Definitely recommend.

I only got to try the beef patties, which were delicious. I couldn’t try anything else because the food wasn’t ready (even though it was lunch time). This restaurant has been open for months, yet they can’t get the food ready by the time the restaurant opens in the morning. Maybe I’ll come back. I’ll update my review if I do.

They have the potential to do very well. They are in a location where there is very VERY little competition. Plus they deliver, which is amazing! Unfortunately they can’t get out if their own way.
1. They are disorganized and SLOW. You won’t spend less than 10 minutes here even if you’re the only one and just want a beef patty. You will literally watch as they spin in circles for 10+ minutes.
2. They are extremely expensive.
3. The portions are SMALL. Their large is more like a small at other restaurants. Coupled with the prices makes them way way way overpriced.
4. I hate to say it, but the food is only ok. That could be overlooked if not for #2 & #3. Especially #3. The portions are just way too small. It just makes it not worth it. No matter how badly you want to support them. I’m an underweight female and don’t need huge portions, but like i said, their large is like a small anywhere else.

On Aug 5, 2015 around 7:30 pm I went to get some food and within the 2 minutes of picking up the food and getting into my car I realized my phone was missing. I went back inside the restaurant asked the 2 gentlemen customers and the employee if they saw my phone, all said no. They were kind enough to let me call my phone, it rang no answer.
When I got back to work I immediately logged on to my icloud account and tracked my phone to only find its at Island Breeze. I called the restaurant asking if they had cameras and could they replay the video footage for me; the employee that was working gave me an attitude saying you’re the girl that was just in here no one took your phone and my cameras do not play back nor do I have cameras at the register.
After continuously tracking the phone it was found at 76 Center street in Stamford CT at around 10:30pm. I went to the house there was a woman and her children at the house that denied having the phone. After going back and forth with the woman we she threw my phone out the 2^nd floor window when we told her that we called the police and that they were on the way.
All in all I would never recommend this place to anyone. If you are looking for a Jamaican restaurant to eat at in Stamford, you should try Scotty’s Fish and Chips or K&S Top of the hill. The customer service at those restaurants are 100x better then Island Breeze.
