If they sold«I love Layla’s falafel» tee shirts, I would wear one everyday. That’s how much I love the food here. The shawarma wraps are too die for — especially if you get them with pita bread. The spicy yogurt drink is a must-have and so is the baklava — if they aren’t sold out. The falafels are nice but we usually are tempted and full with the shawarma. The price is amazing and the food is just delicious and filling. Love this place.

Stopped here during a road trip and it was perfect. I got the falafel supreme platter and the hummus was delicious. The tabolueh salad was so fresh. The falafel was perfectly cooked… not dry at all. And the pita… Wow. Homemade ! Love

Some of the best Middle Eastern food I’ve had to date. Placed an order for the arabic lamb shawarma wrap with a side of falafel and garlic dip for lunch today. The wrap came with a side of hummus and salad. Even for a takeout order, I couldn’t get over how fresh the food tasted and how deliciously all of the flavors came together. Still dreaming of this meal now 4 hours later. Think I’ve found my new go to spot in Stamford

Loved their food first timer, will return again. Only wish they had hookah and some better drink options for non alcoholic beverages. Hard to find good shawarma places, this place is doing awesome. Forgot to mention I traveled all the way from Long Island to try this place. Keep doing what your doing Layla’s Place is great!

We shared a meze plate. For 14 bucks it just wasn’t worth the money. The food was very good, but the portions were very small. The intrepid eater said he was ready to eat a half of a chicken after it. The wait staff was not that friendly or organized. The place is small, and has zero ambiance. I can’t figure out why this place is so popular. The only plus is that it near a Trader Joe’s and you can stock up on goodies on the way home

If you need a falafel fix, this is the place to come. The quality of the falafel here is up to par with the amazing falafel that you can find throughout NYC. The prices are excellent, the food is filling and while the staff can often leave something to be desired the consistency and deliciousness of the food outweighs that. This is truly one of my favorite places in Stamford and with two locations(one on High Ridge and one downtown near the mall) you can get your Layla’s fix fast when you’re craving it! Just be sure that you call ahead to make sure that it’s open. The hours can be unreliable. Other than that this place is incredible!

Coming from a middle eastern background I assure you it is the only place in CT that serves food so close to home. The shawirma they serve is the real deal ! This is what the real arabic shawirma with the garlic dip taste like and should be made on rotating spit. Did i also mention the Kibba and falafel! So happy to have found this place even more that it is close to where i live.

Tiny place, great staff, great food. I had a nice lamb dinner(generous portion) and a drink for under 15 bucks. Nice and clean and they prepare the food right in front of you. Meal came out fast. Go there!

The lamb was to die for. Tender shoulder meat with just the right amount of fat, flavouful but not greasy, with a mix of crunchy pieces to thrill the senses. We ate ours in wraps which blended all that perfectly with garlic and hummus. Will definitely be back again soon.

So delicious! This place is amazing. The middle eastern salad with chicken shawarma is out of this world! The falafel wrap, falafel balls, kebabs. It’s all so good! The garlic sauce is fabulous on everything. Highly recommend. Always a go-to for take out!

I had a great experience at Layla’s Falafel. I was passing through Stamford and came across the restaurant and decided to stop at the restaurant. We had excellent food and were even given complementary hummus. Also very friendly owners!

Note: Delivery Experience I have not just broken up with Layla’s. When this review is complete, I shall be bleaching my brain of all memory they ever existed. I will call a hypnotist if I have to. The final straw was when, once again, the delivery person flat-out refused to even look for the entrance to the apartment building. He called, and unfortunately, my ringer was off. When I finally got in touch with him, I was subjected to five minutes of the driver screaming at me so loudly my boyfriend heard him from across the room. My boyfriend took the phone, and then he got screamed at, but he finally convinced the guy to come back out. The same driver didn’t come back out. Instead, a friend of his who drove a cab came with the food. I know this because this guy also could not be bothered to read the instructions that come on every Seamless order sheet. I had to go down into the courtyard(from where the entrance was visible) and get the food. Mea culpa for not having the ringer on. I know that and I’m not excusing it in any shape form or fashion. Does that mean I deserve to get screamed at? No. If the delivery driver had just followed directions, none of this would have happened and I wouldn’t have to say goodbye to some pretty decent food.

Everything on the menu is top notch and delicious. We’ve dined in, gotten takeout, and had Layla’s cater our parties. Highly recommended…

Went here based on Unilocal reviews, was not disappointed. Owner took out order, when we saw no menus he just said«tell me what you like and I’ll make it». Very friendly. Food was delicious, I had vegetarian plate.

Impression based on one visit. I can confirm that, as mentioned by earlier reviewer, they do seem to stock some store-bought pita. My falafel sandwich was not served on that pita, but on something homemade looking. I’d have preferred the store-bought pita though, since mine was a bit too pillowy thick. However, in every other way my experience was good. Visited at lunchtime, approx 12:30PM. The fellow behind the counter was personable and helpful in explaining the vegan lentil soup(which I didn’t order). My co-worker and I both got falafel sandwiches, his with fried eggplant, and mine with tabbouleh. Ordering time was quick. Delivery of food was also quick. No problems with the order. I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich and so did he. Prices were reasonable for the area. I’d give it another try and be more adventurous the next time.

Enjoy their middle eastern foods… Falafel is good with special sauce… have to say the best is their bubbaganoush and hummus.

I grew up close to Dearborn, MI, which is geographically one of the most concentrated areas of Arabic people outside of the Middle East. Along with that demographic came some of the best restaurants in the country focusing on Middle Eastern cuisine. Whenever I got back to Michigan, Middle Eastern food is always on my check list — because its tough to come across restaurants that are as authentic and good as the ones back home. I’ve lived in LA, NYC and Now Stamford. I have come across 2 – 3 restaurants that can play in that league and I’m happy to say that Layla’s is one of them. They are a quick stop-in and stop-out type place, so they may not have the most extensive menu as the restaurants back home, but the food is top notch. We always get the fatoush salads or the chicken schwarma platter. Regardless of what your order, you should make sure you get a side of Toom(their garlic dip). Amazing!

Food and service were the downfall. We went to grab a bite to eat on Saturday evening and ordered to a chicken plate and a beef plate. The serving size was large but the meat in both dishes was ridiculously dry and, somehow, stale. Best part of either dish was the hummus… because we used it to moisten up the meats. We kept having to flag some random person down, first for drinks, then menus, then silverware after food arrived and finally for the check. Food arrived surprisingly fast so maybe they’re better suited for carryout.
