The Kentucky Depot catered a recent corporate event for my company providing green beans, and homemade banana pudding. The food was delicious, but I can’t say enough about Gladys Reed and her staff for going far out of their way to be sure our event was a total success. She went so far as to allow us to borrow large pots and utensils, all on a day that her restaurant was operating. Just an extreme example of superior customer service! Check them out, I think you’ll be glad you did!

I was in the area and stopped by on a recommendation, and I’m sure glad I did! I went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed, but quickly cleared out. It must be an after church place for the locals. I had the cod and it was excellent, but it didn’t compare to the friend chicken my wife had. Easily one of the best fried chicken meals I’ve had. I live in Lexington and wouldn’t make the drive to eat here, but if you happen to be in the area, it’s absolutely worth visiting.

On our last trip to Danville Kentucky we stopped in for supper. Very pleased with our experience. The wait staff are very friendly and we found the restaurant to be clean and orderly. Our food came surprisingly fast and was very tasty. I was a bit confused on the décor as they had Xmas trees out in June and all of the décor was for sale. I bet chef Ramsey would have something to say about that lol. Worth a look if your in the area.

If your in the mood for basic country cooking this is the place. Simple menu. I’ve been here several times never a marginal meal. Had the fried chicken breast, rice, grilled onions, tomatoes, and peppers with corn bread this time.

This is the place to be in Stanford! Wonderful home cooked meals and amazing staff. The owners are wonderful people and have worked very hard to make this a lovely place to eat. Anytime you need some comfort food, visit the Depot.

Excellent! Just what I was looking for. Home cooking with veggies and home made desserts. Cornbread was outstanding. I ordered a double hamburger which was very good. It was really more than I needed. Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly and made us feel that they were really glad we stopped in. It’s worth a trip just to eat/visit there. A clean, nice place to have a meal.

Found this place in our 101 places to eat in KY book. They offer a salad bar, buffet or combination of both for lunch. The offerings on both were slim and I decided that it would be better to choose the daily special, chicken fried steak with two sides, real mashed potatoes, fried okra and corn bread cakes. Real gravy was served on the side. My wife chose the catfish sandwich with an order of fries. The portions were very generous and delicious. It’s not very often someone will serve real mashed potatoes and these were fixed just right, smooth and creamy with no lumps. The fish had a light breading and was also delicious. We topped it all off with a piece of homemade chocolate pie and brown sugar pie which were just out of this world.
