Well-organized event for a wonderful cause. Professionally timed event through the beautiful Stanford campus. Held on Sunday in early November — I cannot think of a better way to spend the extra hour from the time change.

this was an awesome 5k run/walk event. great organization, great volunteers, and most importantly, great cause as we participated in the race against pulmonary hypertension. the pros: –perfect race day conditions, mid 50s and sunny. although some may say this was a bit on the warm side. –mostly flat course through stanford’s campus, passing through several key university landmarks. since it was a loop, start/finish area was the same. –correctly measured course, which is much appreciated given the number of short/long 5ks out there. i got 3.11 miles on my garmin so i knew this was measured properly. –free and easy parking in lots right next to start/finish area –race started next to stanford’s track, so we were able to warmup and cooldown before and after the race –porta-potties and restrooms(at tennis center building) available –flags to mark each mile in the race –friendly volunteers directing runners along the course and handing out water what you get: *choice of packet pick-up @ fleet feet sports in menlo park the day before or on site pick up the morning of *burgundy coloured long sleeve finisher’s shirt(very appropriate for a november race!) *TONS of post-race food & drinks, including muffins, bagels, cheese, bananas, freshly-cut fruit, pretzels, chips, coffee and water. i was amazed at how much food was provided given the large number of participants. the cons: NONE! i highly recommend this race to first-timers and veteran 5k runners alike. i will definitely sign up for this event again next year.

Yep, this is a good one. This was my first 5k, but it was flat and fast, well organized, friendly, a certified course, and professionally timed – in short, everything you could want. The only bummer was the big 2 mile sign at around 1.7 miles into the course.

Since a few other runs had been rated on Unilocal,I thought that I would add another amazing one that occurs every year. This very affordable 5K is one of those races that is well organized and just makes you feel as if you are doing good for society(helping fund treatment and research on pulmonary hypertension) while doing good for yourself and having fun. The course is around Stanford’s campus and the people are really friendly. I ran this race by myself and was amazed at how friendly everyone was. A great feel good activity for a good cause.
