Their bacon breakfast burrito is by far the best breakfast burrito I have ever had! One bite into this tortilla wrapped masterpiece and you will be fiending for another fix! It’s a decent price at only $ 7.50 but they also give you a boat load of chips with it. Don’t forget to get some salsa to lightly drizzle on this morning must have! Do yourself a favor and go buy one today, you won’t regret it. Oh…and their happy hour is chainless! Great prices, great beer, great times!

Halalalala the best chicken wings I had in my life ever. Tequila sauce is by far the best combination ever with chicken wings(but Korean sauce is awesome too on wings, in another context). Last time I went though we ordered a plate of 12 wings that took quite a while to come, but was worth it still. Just to say, I cried when I ate them once. Maybe because of the incredibly satisfying taste, or just because I had to leave my boyfriend for another 4 months the next day. Anyways, I recommend.

Worst lunch I ever had. Had the carnitas burrito and it tasted like dirty diaper. Wish I could turn back the clock and never go. The side salad was pretty good.

LOVE the food here! Their quesadillas are amazing and the tostada salad is delicious. Great value for money, too! :) The food is prepared very quickly and is always fresh.

They have someone new working the counter, and ever since that change, it’s pretty much gone completely downhill. She talks inappropriately with the staff about the customers in front of them and is pretty consistent with being negligent of customers’ requests. What’s worse is that I’m a pretty frequent customer at this place, and things usually run pretty smoothly, but ever since this particular employee’s hiring, eating here has been realllly questionable. She repeatedly chocks it up to «being new» but that doesn’t excuse the rude behavior. And above all else, she shouldn’t be blaming customers that come back saying that their order was wrong. It’s rude to tell a customer(not me, but someone I’ve witnessed) that they told her the wrong order when Clearly they hadn’t. I’m just really disappointed because this used to be spot I loved very much. Even in spite of the fact that the service was always slow, the food was never as good as treehouses, and they will insist on Arguing with you if you say they got your order wrong. Shame.

I came in for a bite to eat and went with the jalapeño burger. It was okay. Not very good but not bad. The fries were good and overall the price wasn’t bad. ~8.50 for burger fries and drink. The place also has coffee and its a comfortable vibe. Wouldn’t come back too often but it’s a good spot to have in a pinch.

For the starving graduate student, Ray’s Grill seems like an oasis in the desert. There are so few options, I am grateful that at least Ray’s Grill exists within walking distance. I take what I can get! Its a better option than Jack in the Box. FOOD: Thai Red Curry — Delicious and its a large portion and it comes with rice! It is rather spicy, perfect for a rainy day. Definitely my favorite! Chicken Nachos — This is large enough to share with someone! Guacamole, sour cream, cheese, beans, lettuce, onion, tomato on a bed of crunchy chips! I can’t complain. SERVICE: It can be a little slow depending on what time you come in. But its a nice chance to wash your hands or grab a cute antibacterial spray that they hand out at the register! PRICE: Considering that each dish is big enough for two portions, I think the price is not too bad. ~$ 6 – 10 per dish. But keep in mind, I am a small asian girl! AMBIANCE: You can eat in the restaurant where there are TVs at every corner. You can eat outside on the patios in the front AND in the back. There is also seating upstairs where it is more quiet.

Basically the same as Treehouse, but Treehouse definitely tastes better. I ordered a Thai Chicken burrito and it was horribly mixed. The rice was clumped in a ball and the chicken was all in the bottom of the burrito. Similar food nonetheless. Just know that this place is set up by the company that basically monopolizes non-dining hall food on Stanford’s campus(Treehouse, Ray’s, and Coho). I like the diversity of food choices, but if you have a car, hit up Palo Alto or Mountain View instead.

Convenient for students living on Escondido Village. Foods are typical fast food so nothing to complain about the not-so-fancy food. Tips for students who want to get food here fast and then to dive into completing the homework: Use Order Ahead, you can order while you are at your lab or classroom and then pick up the food on your way home. Easy and convenient!

The good: garlic fries and garlic chicken wings are beyond awesome. The quantity is really good. Do order this if you are here. The prawn chow mein is also good but is a little oily. The chicken tikka masala is also good but is not exactly an authentic Indian dish The so-so: The starving student is super cheap. It only consists of tomatoes, onions, beans and rice but is very filling. The kung pao chicken comes with rice and is decent. The ugly: nachos. Never liked them. Don’t order soda here from the fountain, for some reason they always taste bad

Consistently disappointed every time I’ve been here, throughout my 4 years at Stanford. Menu is very similar to Treehouse(same operator or something), but somehow Ray’s is nowhere near as good. It’s actually quite awful. Any dish consistently tastes way better at Treehouse. Ray’s is really salty most times. Never order any thai cuisine here. Just ordered«tri-tip steak nachos», and got a bowl full of soggy french fries with nacho toppings on top! What the??? Had to ask to confirm that it was, indeed, the«nachos». Only upside is the location, which I’m sure must also be the only reason this place is still in business selling food!

Average food but well priced(and everything I’ve had has been with pretty good or at least decent). They also have a few beers on tap and two outdoor seating areas so it’s a good centralized grad student meet up. Also, try the nacho fries, they’re surprisingly delicious(better than regular nachos in my opinion).

Overall comments: Closest food and alcohol for people living on campus. Dining area really small and can get really crowded during meal times. Can usually order food whenever during the day. Dishes: Quesadilla — ok axe burger so so pad thai — um… Venue: Parking/Easy to find/Cleanliness/Lighting parking difficult located at the gcc pretty clean somewhat dim at night Service: Seating speed/food speed/server attitude service ok

Ray’s is unique. It’s an on-campus bar/restaurant. It’s kind of like drinking in a small version of your college dining hall. The service here is kind of odd. The bartenders have been friendly enough, but there’s always some sideline event going on behind the bar. The cook staff come out and talk with the bartender for long periods, friends come chat over the bar. Stuff like that. Most of the staff here seems to be part-tiimers who also work full-time at the campus dining facilities. So they all know each other from their other job, and bartending/restaurant isn’t quite their first line of work. But — the staff is friendly enough, and I’ve always gotten service pretty quickly. The beer is inexpensive. The food menu is written up on the wall over the bar, in an easy-to-understand format. Just look up there, decide what you want, and tell the bartender. And…the Buffalo wings are surprisingly good. That’s all I’ve ever ordered, and they’ve been consistently well-cooked and tasty. A five-order of buffalo wings and one beer comes in at $ 10, can’t beat that. The vibe is pure grad school — lots of dudes looking at their laptops while throwing back a meal. It’s not hip, romantic, or anything like that. But it’s good for a quick bite, and it’s fun to step back into the college atmosphere for a few minutes.

Made the food too spicy when we ordered mild, and had dead bugs in my salad(a mosquito I think).

This is strange, but I REALLY like the wings here. The angry habanero and the sweet tequila are definitely worth trying. The portion size for the mexican and asian food is pretty generous for the price and they’re open late-ish, so this is definitely a quality option for the lazy, poor graduate students living in Rains/EV(like myself). I wish it was open even later, though.

Ray’s has the worst pad thai I’ve ever had. Last time I had it, it was so salty it was almost inedible. The time before, it tasted like regular noodles and wasn’t pad thai flavored at all. But their palak paneer is okay and so are their burgers. I think Ray’s suffers from trying to serve all kinds of foods instead of doing one thing well. These days I only go to Ray’s for the atmosphere and because it’s the closest place to my apartment.

College bar/café. Nice. Good selection for draft beers and reasonably priced pitchers and pints of beer. They serve your usual bar fare too. Can get crowded during the evenings. Thanks for reading my review. This is based off of my personal experience and opinion.
