Got the chance to eat here with a friend. The food was very excellent and cooked to order. I had the house burger and it was very good. I have to compliment their home made chips as well, they were great. I have no complaints and I enjoy the fancy feel of the restaurant. I will be a return customer for sure!

The better half and I had the pure luxury of eating there this evening. We arrived and loved the interior, it is gorgeous. The hostess was right as you walk in and was pleasant, no smile but very nice. She offered us a table right by the door and she could tell we were not thrilled and offered us another perfect option. We sat and looked over the specials and menus. Server arrived about 6 minutes later and was very pleasant and wonderful. She took our drink order and appetizer order. We had the chips and dip. Was very good. The cheese option is much better than the ranch dressing but I am guessing you assumed that would be coming. For Dinner we ordered the Pear Salad and Pimento Cheese burger. My gorgeous wife had the salad and her only complain was the bowl base was a little small and was hard to cut up the salad with it in the bowl. She loved the salad though. The pimento cheese burger was my delight. I love pimento cheese and this burger WASAWESOME. Cooked perfectly medium, pimento cheese accented the burger so well. Next time I am going to try and get some bacon on the burger too(mainly because I am a bacon addict). I am very pleased with this location and if you have seen any of my reviews before I am a bit picky and rarely give the 5 stars. I will be back to this location. If anyone from BlueBird reads this, my compliments on a fantastic place and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Went here a week and a half ago for breakfast. We had heard good things and wanted to try it out. We walked away with mixed feelings about the Blue Bird Café. Restaurant is modern chic with stainless steel and exposed brick, but still has charm and a small town coziness appeal. Our waitress was very friendly and service was great. I ordered the blue bird omelet described on the menu as «A Clark Farm egg omelet with onions, peppers, and Marksbury sausage. Topped with smoked gouda cream sauce and skillet potatoes. Served with a buttermilk biscuit.» I also ordered a side of gravy to go with my biscuit. Hubby ordered the Stanford Denver Omelet described as «Smoked Marksbury ham, sautéed onions and peppers, cheddar and monterey jack cheeses in a Clark Farm egg omelet. Served with a buttermilk biscuit.» He also ordered a side of bacon. I love that the Blue Bird utilizes the farm to table concept. There is pride in knowing that you are eating locally sourced food while supporting local businesses. That being said, I would think that local means lower cost. Not the case here. For me, the biggest disappointment is the menu pricing. Because they are different, I hate to compare a small local café to a chain restaurant. However, if I’m paying $ 10 for an omelet, I expect to get a $ 10 size omelet like the ones you find at IHOP. About my food: The sausage in the omelet was different but I liked it. There really wasn’t anything amazing about the omelet itself. I am a huge Gouda fan, so I was excited to taste the smoked Gouda sauce. Sadly, it was just okay. Then I got to the potatoes. Holy moly! They were GOOD! I’m not much of a potato person, and I don’t know what the chef does to these potatoes but I would’ve been a happy girl to just get a plate of those! I saved my biscuit & gravy for last. The gravy was a lot thicker than I’m used to, and I did need to add salt & pepper for my taste but it worked and I loved it! And that biscuit. Wow! There was a mild crispy-crunch on the outside and it was pillowy soft on the inside. Perfect! Hubby was not so enthused about his omelet. He said the ham surprisingly tasted as if it was country ham. It may have been, because other than«smoked,» it wasn’t specified on the menu. He was highly disappointed with the price/portion ratio as well. He felt like $ 4 for two slices of bacon on the side was much(it was), but especially since the bacon was not thick cut. It was two puny pieces of bacon for what you pay for a pound of in the store! We ordered two slices of white chocolate pie and two coffees to-go. Two $ 10 omelets, a coffee, a sparkling water, a side of gravy, a $ 4 side of pathetic bacon, two $ 4 slices of pie and two(small) coffees… Our bill was $ 50!!! It was the most expensive breakfast we’ve ever had! This is incredibly disappointing because I love supporting local businesses. However, at $ 50 a meal, especially breakfast(cheapest meal of the day), who can afford to make it a habit? We may be back, we may not.

This is an absolutely amazing farm-to-table restaurant! Great options all from local farms, including burgers(and veggie burgers), pastas, salads, fish, and more. There are also homemade desserts that change weekly. The atmosphere is very quaint and fun. Can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend.

We are back to this restaurant for second time. Loving the food. Had dynamite chicken, organic pear salad and sometset chicken wrap. Everything just perfect. wish it was close to where we live so didn’t have to drive an hour to get here but still worth it. Don’t miss this place. Will be back soon:)))

The Bluebird is a farm-to-table restaurant located in central Kentucky. It is fixated on Main St. in Stanford, which is very charming. The food is always fresh and delicious. I’ve dined here roughly 30 times and each meal has been wonderful. I’d recommend having breakfast, lunch, or dinner here. Side note: if you like pimento cheese, get it as an appetizer. It is a hot dip with bacon and smoked gouda sauce… it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Seriously, one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. I forget the name of what I ordered, but it contained ham and fried green tomatoes. Amazing! The table agreed they were the best biscuits we had ever tasted. We also couldn’t let ourselves pass up the giant cinnamon roll. We were in Kentucky visiting family and we drove and hour and a half based on the reviews we read. So glad we did! Cute town, too! Worth the stop for sure. It’s a good thing we live 6 hours away. One could get used to this. Super friendly waitstaff, too.

SOWORTH the 80 mile round trip from Berea to Stanford, Kentucky! I had the Kentucky Scramble while my hubby opted for(if I’m remembering the name correctly) the Farmer’s breakfast. Mine was EXCELLENT — I could not have been more pleased. My hubby’s however, was edible but nothing to write home(or Unilocal) about. The gravy is our only complaint, it was tasteless. Portion size — plenty! I took half of mine home and had it the next day. The excellent coffee & atmosphere are outstanding. We thought the prices were reasonable. One note, the BROWNIE,(the one that’s shown in the photos), not available on a regular basis — so disappointing but not a deal breaker. We highly recommend this place.

I have eaten in this restaurant many times and have ordered for carry out just as many times. I have to say that not one time have I or anyone I have taken here been disappointed in the food. I have ordered the salads, pasta dishes, sandwiches, soups, desserts, wraps, and their specials of the day so I have a lot of experience with my opinion. If you are in the area it is a must to stop and eat at the restaurant. Even if you just have dessert and coffee it will be worth your time. After your meal walk across the street to Kentucky Soaps and Such for a nice ending to your experience in Stanford.

It’s been a year since I had lunch here. However, I can’t forget it… this is one restaurant that all in KY should model themselves after. Good food, great service, reasonable… It may be a bit loud; but, this may be the price of a popular restaurant?

Fantastic, fresh, locally sourced produce. did I mention grass fed beef? We had the bluebird chips as a starter. Thin cut fried potato goodness served with three incredible sauces. I could drink the gouda cheese sauce! Ben the pastry chef knows his business. The bourbon white chocolate pie was insanely good. Pecan pie can be rich but dear friends this pie was far from it. Ribbons of white chocolate kissing the crust with tasty pecans floating in an amber gelatin. Oh my! A true gem. Get yourself to The bluebird. Friendly and attentive staff. Too bad Stanford isn’t closer. Absolutely worth the drive for the offerings.

Nestled in the center of Kentucky, this gem is worth the drive. Plus, it’s located in the quaint downtown area of one of the cutest and most hospitable small towns I’ve ever visited. Plan for a little sightseeing and shopping before and after your meal. They serve Baxter’s coffee from Somerset, KY. The waitress told me they receive the beans within a week of being roasted and grind them fresh before brewing. I had a decaf drip and drank the bottomless cup until my stomach would no longer expand. The coffee is enough to earn them five stars. For our late lunch, we tried the fried green tomatoes, spinach artichoke dip and the bluebird chips to share for starters. I liked them all, but vegetarians beware of the ham mousse lying beneath the tomatoes. The dynamite sauce served with the chips would make a perfect complement to many of the dishes on the menu, so order a side for your sandwich or your fries. The spinach artichoke dip was creamier than many I’ve had and served with crostini instead of the regular tortilla chips. The waitress made sure we had plenty of chips and crostini to scoop up all our sauces. I ordered the house quesadilla for my entrée and had to pick the chicken out since I didn’t read the menu carefully enough. It was delish. Though it’s hard to criticize the Bluebird, I always like to offer my recommendations for improvement. While they might not have a lot of vegetarian visitors, they should offer a few more meatless selections. Everything seems to be laden with bacon. I really wanted to try the pimiento cheese, but I was disappointed to learn it was pre-made with hog bits. Despite the porkification of the menu, I’m already planning my next visit.

If you don’t eat here then you’re just plain silly. There is a great vibe in this out-of-the-way gem in Stanford KY that manifests itself in the food. On my plate today was the Fried Green Tomato BLT with Fries and Raspberry a Iced Tea. The tomatoes were just the right amount of crispy, with cheese and aioli to boot. The L on the sandwich was my favorite, arugula. I split the dessert of the day with my friend, a chocolate cupcake with an obscene amount if peanut butter frosting on top, with some pretty good coffee. Aahh, bliss. Eat here right now. The art is cool too and a couple of interesting shops on the street for further amusement.

Farm to table restaurant. Atmosphere and food presentation is wonderful, and very surprising for this area of Kentucky. A wonderful surprise ! I love their tea selections. Menu is a good variety with many tempting items. Open for breakfast at 7:30, open for lunch and dinner as well.

The menu is fantastic with choices for everyone. Prices are even better. I travel often and promise this little restaurant would stand apart from others whether it be located in downtown Del Ray, FL or Silver Spring, MD. This is the first restaurant I have given 5 stars. The only area for improvement might be young waiting staff that can sometimes be inattentive. As always, this is a case by case basis. This is a gem for Stanford and brings new energy to the little downtown. As for the meal: the hamburger is in my top 5 favorite. The friend green tomatoes were perfect, with the entire batter remaining intact. The jambalaya was very good, perfectly spiced. Overall, very very good.

The Bluebird looks very modern and«uptown.» I was impressed by the statement on the front of Bluebird’s menu that they strive to serve sustainable, locally sourced food. I ordered a Bluebird Burger. Fortunately, it is made of grass-fed beef and doesn’t actually contain bluebirds. The burger was very good, and cooked exactly as I requested it. It was served on a house-baked bun(a very nice touch). The Bluebird serves freshly brewed iced tea, and it is delicious. The only negative in my opinion, and it may be nitpicking a little, is that during my visit, there were quite a few tables covered with dirty dishes although the diners had gone. This is a problem that should be resolved.
