The Market at Munger is a fantastic if pricey grocery spot on campus. While the options are limited, the foods that they do sell are fresh, organic, and unique. Bulk foods are not your standard Costco/Winco panel in terms of selection or price — for example, there are a lot of organic chocolate/nut based snacks, candy, and dried fruit, and the most economical/taste balanced option in my opinion is the double dipped peanut butter milk chocolate malt balls($ 4.50/lb.) What sets Munger apart from others is the amazing service. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. When I ordered my $ 4 gelato sandwich, the lady at the register recommended sea salt caramel when I asked for suggestions, and she even threw in an extra gelato flavor even though you’re only supposed to get one flavor on a sandwich. Super nice of her. And the register is always very efficient, and the gelato stand is super clean. $ 4 for a larger cookie sandwich is more convenient and at least comparable(if not better) than CREAM in my opinion. tldr: Convenient, clean, welcoming small grocery

Such good gelato. I came in here, looked at the price, saw that it was expensive, and had really high expectations for the gelato. I got a medium size bowl, and I was allowed to get 3 flavors! The server cleaned the scoop before switching tubs of gelato, which was very nice in my opinion. The consistency of the gelato isn’t too think, and it melts in your mouth(qualities of some good gelato here). I also noticed that melted gelato tastes very good here, confirming the gelatos quality. Overall, I highly recommend this.

I stopped in here to grab a few tomatoes for a recipe my girlfriend and I wanted to make. They were $ 1APIECE for tiny heirloom tomatoes — the same variety you buy for 89¢ per pound at other stores. I instead bikes to Trader Joe’s(not much further for us) and picked up a 6-pack of organic tomatoes for $ 2.99. The selection here is only okay, so shop at Munger if and only if you MUST have what you’re looking for AND you have $$ to burn.

Great convenience store on campus. They have fresh and bulk foods as well as quick food on the go. The employees are very helpful and friendly too.

This place is awesome for a little food mart! It is located in the Munger apartment residences for graduate students(Building 5) on Stanford University campus. The Munger apartments are beautiful both inside and out, so it is the perfect place to have a snack and sit down and read/catch up on some emails. You can often find people on the little café-style tables outside enjoying the Norcal sunshine. They have a wide variety of essentials. There’s packaged food, a snack bar(to get fresh sandwiches and sushi), fresh veggies, a gelato bar, hot coffee, baked bread, and a nuts/oats stand, and your usual everyday household utilities(batteries, napkins, laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, etc). But… what I really like about this place is how reasonable the prices are! Usually when you go to mini-marts they markup the prices ALOT, but it is actually very affordable here. They only downside is that they close relatively early and aren’t open on weekends.

A great alternative to Tressider Express. The Market has a pretty good variety of items for a campus convenience store. I love that they have gelato & a bulk foods section. It almost makes it feel like an actual grocery store. This is super convenient when you need snacks for a party. If only they accepted meal plan dollars, then I would be buying food here all the time.

I go here daily to grab my snacks and drinks especially when the usual food spots on campus are congested with people. The Market doesn’t offer many options for«full» meals(although they have quick to-go hot lunches) but if a granola bar and Naked juice suffice, you can go in and out in less than 2 minutes. The items here are also not the usual artery-congesting Cheetos and donuts you would find at a similar convenience store. Here there is a plethora of organic items, natural foods, and fresh fruit. I love that they have a stock of kombucha, coconut water, and greek yogurt!

This darling little market for the Munger Residence neighborhood peddles everything from candy to colon cleanser(look for the white container that looks much like what the Clorox wipes come in only with bright red lettering and red top) should students need it. A little pricey, the place tries to be part trading post, part mom and pop shop with a dash of Whole Foods thrown in. While you probably don’t want to do your week’s worth of grocery shopping here, it has a big convenience factor to it if you’re feeling backed up!

Lupe T. is right: this is a nice addition to the Stanford campus scene, esp. for Law School types and Reese Witherspoon wanna-be’s. The M@M is basically a high-end micro-grocery store with lots of cool stuff at reasonable prices. The selection of goods is small but extremely well-chosen. It’s located in the brand-new Munger graduate housing complex surrounded on the outside by beautiful palms, each of which cost more than $ 50,000, I understand. That would pay for a year of law school, almost. Or that Mazdaspeed3 I have been coveting. But the trees and surrounding courtyard are great!(If you look closely, you will see how these fantastic natural beauties are sculpted with a chain-saw to make them look so slender and smooth. I kid you not. This is hard work). Inside the store, you will find a little of everything, from chocolates to cling-wrap and many things in-between. Hey, why travel all the way to the downtown Trader Joe’s in Palo Alto when you can shop here?

A place on campus to buy groceries. I don’t know why this is such an innovative concept, but this makes me happy. It is a bit pricey though, but that’s expected in its location and with its quality and variety. It’s like the bastard child of Whole Foods and 7 – 11. Sure, theres the shelving on the wall with condoms and mouthwash and those wall-sized fridges in the back with drinks, but there are also squash, strawberries, and even pineapples in the cute little produce section, ethnic foods like korean barbecue sauce and nori for sushi, Starbucks coffee, and gelato. Seriously, folks. Gelato. And it’s pretty good gelato too. If you’re on campus, check it out. It’s hidden in Munger, but they’re promoting it with signs all around the complex.
