China Chef

What an awesome surprise! We live seven miles away in Luray. We lost our awesome Chinese cuisine food Resteraunt over two years ago and have been craving great Chinese food ever since without having to leave our Valley. China Chef seriously blew me away from the moment I walked in. It’s mostly take out, but there’s plenty tables if you’d prefer to eat in. I’ve heard that the owners are rude, and or unfriendly so therefore the reviews are unfavorable. My honest experience about this is that they immigrants taking over from relatives who retired and moved on. As someone who grew up in New Orleans and lived in DC for many years where many foreign people come to cook, I didn’t see this as a problem. The food is fresh, delicious and hot!

The cashier was rude when taking my simple order and then made smart remarks about me asking for duck sauce and hot mustard sauce or my egg rolls. I will not go back to a place that makes me feel that I don’t matter and that they cannot be bothered to give you sauces even if you state that you would pay for it. There are other places to eat and you can buy Chinese food at Food Lion and it tastes better than at this place.

We order from here on a regular basis. The food is alway fresh and delicious. They serve large portions and their prices are very affordable.
