Best Al Pastor burrito and pickled jalapeño & carrots I have tasted from San Francisco to San Diego(including San Luis Obispo) in 25 years! Tonight, I had the Lengua burrito and it was small and I wouldn’t write home to Ma about it. $ 9 for medium drink + burrito. I’d pay $ 12 if they offered a burrito grande con queso.

You haven’t experienced life to the fullest if u haven’t had their steak torta. Mmmmmmm… I’m eating one right now. Its seasoned to perfectionnnnnn!!! Get one! The bread they use is so soft and buttery. The beans in it are a great compliment to the meat as well. Try it with the green salsa. Service is friendly. And the tables are clean. TV available.

Drive thru for the first time tonight. Pretty good tacos. Al pastor is more like adobada but its still delicious. Great for what it is, drive thru legit Mexican fast food. If you expect anything more than that, then you probably had a tough time learning what things meant growing up compared to everyone else. Tldr 5⁄5 for fast food drive thru tacos

I ordered an al Pastore burrito there just now, and I have to say after living in Southern California for over 50 years and spending weeks and months at a time in Baja California, I can say with absolute certainty that it was The grossest burrito I have ever eaten in my entire life. In fact, I took two bites and threw it away. I see this place had good reviews from other people, I guess they were lucky and did not order the same kind of Burrito that I did. Mildly spicy vomit is the only thing I could compare it to. DONTORDERALPASTOR!!!

I just loooooove love love this taqueria; we ordered their carne asada burrito and three of the same tacos. The burrito isn’t shown, which is just the carne asada taco meat in a big tortilla. WOW. I loved it so much I was sad I was done in only three! Do yourself a favor and order at least 5! you will thank me! Don’t forget the large horchata

Fast, friendly service and delicious food. The menu is pretty basic, with choice of taco, burrito, quesadilla, etc. and then choice of meat. There is a self service bar in front of the counter where you can add your own onions/cilantro, limes, salsas etc. The carrots are bomb. Highly recommend this place!

The tacos are goo but the person taking the order is not very good he over charged us both times we have been there. Last time he completely messed up and confused mine and other 4 customers orders by the time he figure out what was happening my tacos were cold. They should also let you know there is a fee for using your card but they don’t.

Saw this new taco joint driving by So me and the misses are suckers for local mom and pop shops. Stop in order tacos, and a few things to accompany our tacos. We got our order to go so grabbed a couple beers from the market next store. Come back grab the goods and head home. Get home take out the meal and they forgot to give us the freaking tacos. Too lazy and far to drive back so we split the other stuff we got

Not good at all. Asada burrito had both rice and beans in it. Carne asada was full of fat and gristle. Charge credit card fee without saying so. Sketchy plaza but thats most of Stanton. I would drive a little further for better late night tacos and burritos.

Consistently good food. Good tacos and burritos, great salsa and condiments. I won’t get tacos anywhere else.

The best al pastor tacos I’ve had. Very flavorful and the meat was tender and moist. The salsa bar also had fresh and tasty sauces. The interior need major work as the chair cushions and tables appeared to be run down. I noticed a few dead flies and the window where we were seated. If you are down to eat here I would recommend ordering at the drive thru and eating your meal in a cleaner environment. Menudo is only served on the weekends.

This place looks pretty small and kinda run down. I didn’t have a chance to check out the restroom. Their menu is very basic and simple, it consists of tacos, burritos, menudo(sat and sun only), mulitas, tortas and quesadillas. They have a salsa bar but they were missing limes and pickled carrots. I asked for more limes, which I was given but I was told they didn’t have anymore pickled carrots, bummer. The cilantro/onion mix was mostly onion(I don’t like raw onion so that was a miss for me). I order various meat tacos and a mulita with al pastor. The mini tacos for $ 1.25 came with just plain meat, you are to add your own condiments. I didn’t have an issue with this until I saw the cilantro/onion mix. The tacos come with two mini tortillas(which is pretty standard for most places) but I also thought the tortillas were pretty bland. Seems like my kids thought the same because they just picked off the meat after the first bite. I think they would be better with using a different tortilla brand. The mulita with al pastor was made with different tortillas than the tacos and I found that tortilla to be pretty good. The cheese was nice and gooey but I love them to have some crispy cheese edges which this didn’t have. I didn’t have an issue finding parking or a place to sit since there was only two groups eating, us included The person taking my order was very warm and friendly. FYI credit cards use are subject to a 50¢ surcharge but I least it isn’t cash only. All in all I have it 3⁄5 stars because of some bland meats, tortillas, missing carrots and off cilantro/onion mix. Would I come back? Probably not, but I have had worst. Asada — 3⁄5 I felt the meat was pretty bland but it wasn’t dry or burnt Al Pastor — 4⁄5 it had good flavor but I prefer this meat to be on the well done side. Lengua — 4⁄5 meat was good and moist but slightly lacking favor, wasn’t dry or old like I have experienced at other places. Buche — 4.5÷5 this buche was almost perfect but slightly under seasoned. With lemon, salsa and salt it tasted pretty darn good. Cabeza — 5⁄5 this meat was spot on, exactly what cabeza should be. Nice and tender without having it fall apart. Topped with salsa and lemon and I was in heaven.

This place is totally worth it, everything we ordered was very good. From the service very nice and polite to the delicious and tasty food. These tacos aren’t like any others, greasy or salty but instead fresh and tasty. I recommend Asada and Al Pastor. They also have salsa bar with picked carrots and cucumbers which were very fresh. horchata was also good, many places make it too sweet but here was just perfect. Definitely coming back and bringing my folks, finally found some good tacos around.

Good taco place and good service … My favorite asada tacos and also tried the asada burrito it was good. Tripas was good they had a good taste to them. Had a buche burrito without the red sauce it would have been a better tastier burrito. Overall the food was good and the place has seating area outside and inside not to small. I will be going back to this place.

Super great place! I came in skeptical due to a bad prior experience of my mom bringing home tacos from here about 20 minutes late. Soggy and gross due to the steam of the warmth… Ew. To-go tacos in general aren’t good. I was finally able to come and try them fresh off the grill and they were beautiful! I had one buche and one chicken taco and they were great. This place serves great portions at $ 1.25 per taco, stuffed with meat and a good bar for toppings and whatnot! Tacos Puro Jalisco is definitely a sit down to enjoy kind of place; maybe think twice about taking the tacos home… But other than that, will definitely be coming back(often)!!

Tacos are a good size and at $ 1.25 you can’t go wrong. Salsa bar is well stocked with a variety of toppings. Carne asada was my preferred meat out of the three. Chicken was a little bland for my taste. I’m not a fan of green salsa so I’d have to say it was average. The red Salsa was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Nice smokey flavor. Carne Asada — 5⁄5 Chicken — 3⁄5 Chorizo — 4⁄5 Red Salsa — 5⁄5 Green Salsa — 3⁄5 Recommended. –T.P.V.

Authentic legit Mexican food! Been searching for delicious tacos for a WHILE now and I have finally found em! I tried their Asada Mulita and an Al Pastor taco. The meat in the taco tasted so juicy and fresh and flavorful. They give you the option to put whatever you’d like on the tacos so they serve them plain. Added some onions and cilantro, green salsa, and a bit of lime… and I devoured that sucker! The mulita tasted straight out of your Tia Rosa’s kitchen… homemade awesomeness. The cheese and beef was the perfect combination. The gentleman who took my order was super nice and very confident in what I chose to order. Told me I would love it and he was definitely right. I will definitely be back here again!

I drive by this place all the time. Formerly known as Fuegos/most recently Hanks. I see that it was becoming a Mexican food restaurant and figured I would give it a try when they open. The staff was friendly and the food was pretty decent. It looks like it’s going to have the makings for a pretty good little restaurant. Obviously they are still working out some of the bugs as they are trying to get up and running. I first walked in I did not see any prices on the menu only to find out that after I ordered the food the guy with the latter and the sharpie came out to fill-in the prices. And the Hanks sign was still inside. But I will definitely give it another shot to see if they were able to work out all the kinks.
