So I’m looking for a bite to eat after visiting grandma at the Stanton Health Center and I pull up to the Brewery on 10th. I walk in and ask if they are still serving food and although they owner stated they’d just closed the kitchen, she would reopen for me. I got an order of those cream cheese poppers and she fixed me up a nice salad. We got to talking and she let me know the place was used as a location for the film«Nebraska». How cool is that? Then she gave me a tour of the place– so much character in this old building– easy to see why they would pick it for the movie. Definitely coming back with friends and family next time I’m in town to enjoy the food and to soak in the warm atmosphere of this place. Right now she is displaying some beautiful oil paintings on the walls. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! Coming back to try the prime rib. If it’s good I’m bumping up to 5 stars.

The food is delicious, even something as humble as a cup of tomato bisque becomes an exquisite medley of rich, creamy flavors. The Ruben is piled high with meltingly tender slices of corned beef and the prime rib was cooked to juicy, flavorful perfection! The prices for this wonderful restaurant are very reasonable, and the ambiance is cozy and delightful! The service is positively INCREDIBLE! Felt like dinner with friends: D They serve local Nebraska wines as well as a nice selection of Nebraskan beers. The Uptown is truly a gem nestled amidst the rolling hills of northeast Nebraska! DONOTMISSIT!

I’d love to rate this place considering I drove 40 min to get there after the other reviews on the place. The sign outside claims to be open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner although at 1600 on a Monday the doors were all locked and the lights were off. I hope this was just their idea of a April Fools joke.

An oasis of good food and Guinness in a sea of Bud Light and mediocre. If you are traveling across the Northeastern Nebraskan plains, stop into the Uptown for a pint of Guinness poured to perfection. Other unusual upscale beers as well, and many wines. The building is adorably quaint and historical. We always eat here when I am visiting.

Lived in Norfolk for a year and a half, and thank God for the Uptown! We ate there at least once a month. Icy cold Third Stone Brown on tap at the bar, and Roz poured the best Guinness, hands down, that I’ve ever had. It’s been at least two years since I’ve been there, but I still dream about the tomato bisque. The(pepperloin? is that what it was called?) steak with asiago was my usual steak. Great burgers for lunch, too. I miss this place!
