They were actually super rude. They only charged cover for«certain people» they knew. I like the food and drinks but won’t go back here because of their discriminatory behaviors.

Kildare’s is a place you want to go if you just want to relax with your friends. It’s not really a bar that you would go to if you want to meet new people, because everyone pretty much keeps to themselves. The prices on the drinks are pretty cheap, and the service is average. I would recommend not keeping a tab open because they had overcharged me after I closed my tab. Overall decent place, but not really ideal.

Kildare’s is a nice place to meet for a drink and they have some pretty good menu items, but don’t expect to be wowed by their food. Sometimes the vegetables can be under or over cooked, and their portions seem to change. The boxtys are pretty good though and they have a decent beer list. It’s Nice place to meet for a beer and a burger.

The burger was dry and tasteless. The nachos were decent.

Came here time-after-time and have been consistently disappointed with the food. This goes for especially during their busy nights(AYCE wings Monday, $ 5 burger Tuesday’s). Table service has been horrendous and the food cold by the time we finally received it. Bar is decent though and has good prices. I’m sure you could probably get a better meal experience there than the ones I’ve had in the past.

The food here is good. I’ve had the shepherd’s pie and it was pretty authentic and tasty. I’ve also had their BBQ flatbread, which was great. Drinks are moderately priced, too. I don’t like that the girls wear revealing outfits, though. It’s not necessary. I understand it’s a bar atmosphere, but I just don’t like it.

Decent food. Free pretzel tower when you check in on Unilocal!:) those pretzels were very greasy but so good and VERY filling. The cream cheese dip for the pretzels was amazing, while the mustard dip was too sour

Great everything, especially unlimited wings on Mondays(BFG). Excellent craft brew selection. Usually packed during the school year. Always a safe bet.

Decent bar to get some satisfying food and a couple good pints. Their tap selection is good without being massive, and they seem to rotate the list quite frequently. I never done it before but it might be cool to get a growler filled there. The food is standard, but done right. The price is reasonable. I like the interior atmosphere especially since it is a bit off the center of the college crowd. Would definitely visit again, and again.

Awesome beer list. Great food. Phenomenal burgers for $ 5 on Tuesdays. I would highly encourage going there.

Kildare’s is fantastic. Always a great selection of draft beers, the shrimp tacos were fresh and tasty with sliced fresh jalapeños, and the service was excellent. The beer dinners are so worth the price, and Melissa is always right on top of everything– she is a super waitress.

Great prices for drinks as well as a convenient bottle shop next door. All of the bartenders are very prone to killing your buzz. None of them want to be there and most of them aren’t even keen to serving you a smile, let alone a polite demeanor. I was very displeased when I found my way bar hopping onto the east side of State College.

I would come here for the Tuesday Burger Night and stay for trivia. Burgers are great and have a good portion size. It is always busy on this night, the waitresses have issues keeping up with the rush, and it could sometime take a while to receive our food. I wish they had a better beer selection and a way to cope with the crowds, it is better over the summer when the outdoor seating is available and it is one of the better choices on that side of campus to go drinking.

Kildare’s is a great place to start a bar tour at 11am, making it simple by starting at one end of town. It’s pretty good for hockey and soccer games too, but it can get super crowded. They always have a bunch of prize giveaways happening, like tickets to Vegas and other random but really sweet deals. Make sure you get a «rate your experience» card before leaving and sign up for the email list. You can win a happy hour for a group of up to like 20 people, and it happens often. I know Monday nights they have Angry Orchard drafts for like $ 2 or $ 3, way cheap, and $ 0.50 wings! Sundays in the summer they offer all you can eat crab legs for $ 20. So if you can eat(guys), it’s worth it. If you don’t have a huge appetite though, you may not get your money’s worth. One not-so-great aspect is the wait staff service. It’s really hit or miss here. I have waited over an hour for a sandwich with a rude waitress on a Saturday. It was crowded and they seemed to be understaffed, but it was not a good experience and bad customer service is never acceptable at a restaurant/bar. Yet other times, I’ve had excellent service(i.e. Bar tour at 11 am when our group is the only one there). Overall, if you’re going for just drinks, you’re likely to get served quickly at the bar. But if you’re going for food and drinks, be cautious of the time of day/day of the week. If you think it’s going to be crowded, go somewhere else for food because it’s not worth the wait or lack of service.

I have been to other kildares locations in philly and west Chester and they are great. This one is absolutely terrible. The service was terrible. The men’s bathroom should have been shut down and cleaned. Vomit all over the urinals that was clogged up and over flowing with urine and vomit all over the floor. The stall was also clogged with toilet paper and over flowing with feces on the floor. The most vile bathroom I have been in by far.

I’ll begin with my only complaint about this place only so that I can demonstrate that the good – by far – outweighs the bad. My one complaint is that their honey mustard is awful. It’s way too bitter and makes me feel like I’ve ingested gasoline. Aside from this, Kildare’s is wonderful. Their food quality is top knotch. Turkey burger is fantastic and each time I ask for extra guacamole, they ALWAYS give it to me. It puts a giant smile on my face. Fries are good and so are the wings. I’ve placed orders over the phone before and the workers are very nice, funny, and professional. I highly recommend this place. Oh, and they always give me TONS of ketchup and napkins even when I don’t ask for them. They’re pretty awesome.

I’m a first-generation Irishman living in State College, so take it from me, this place is not even remotely Irish. Their menu isn’t remotely Irish, the décor isn’t remotely Irish — nothing about this place is Irish. Furthermore, they didn’t show the All-Ireland Hurling Final, nor did they even know what it was. Hurling is our national sport, and the All-Ireland final is typically shown in Irish bars across the world. Take it from someone who has only been away from home for two months — Kildare’s is NOT an Irish bar. It is an American bar, with a harp over the door.

A true Irish pub! I spend a lot of time looking for the Irish pub and ending up in a sports bar with an Irish name. Those are good… but looking for this! Chose the Ruben on the waitress’s recommendation. She was right. I am not a super-fan of the Ruben so it does have to be really good for me to like it. The corned beef was thinly sliced and really piled high. I don’t know how you can really have fresh sauerkraut but they succeeded. It was still crunchy with that amazing taste. They even some how had fairly soft Rye bread. Highly impressed what could possibly make this better? Oh lots of beers on tap. Mostly micro-brew and craft beers. Specializing in the Ambers, Irish, Scotch Ales, and Stouts. And to finish it out. What is a great sandwich and beer without PUBCHIPS! Hand cut and deep fried onsite with a light drizzle of a cheese sauce unless you ask them not to. I love when loaded is the standard. The bartender really knew her stuff and made several mixed drinks for a colleague of mine. Including the Batman! I had to drive so sadly I didn’t have one but I’ll be back there one day and you can bet your Bat-a-rang that I’ll have one!

Sizable and decent Irish pub at the far east end of College Ave. + Great bottle/draft selection, with plenty of local microbrews. + Knowledgeable bartender who gave good drink recommendations. + Although a bit cramped pulling your car in/out, they have their own, free parking lot: a valuable commodity in busy downtown. I didn’t have time to eat anything, but I’d give Kildare’s another go the next time I’m in town.
