Insanely overpriced but unfortunately there are really no better options in town. The guy behind the counter is hard of hearing and you have to repeat yourself 3−4x when talking to him. If ZIPS dry cleaning came to State College they would absolutely clean up.

I brought them a brand new shirt along with a suit to get dry cleaned for my wedding. The shirt was a white shirt that had never been worn. I even made sure to tell them I would be getting married in the clothes. I picked up the dry cleaning and didn’t think to check the shirt. When I opened up the dry cleaning on my wedding day there was a large black spot that looked like an ink spot on the shirt with a note that extra care was given to the spot but they weren’t able to get it out. The shirt was brand new! I did try the shirt on so I know for sure the spot was not there when I dropped it off. Then they didn’t even both to tell me about the spot when I picked up the shirt despite the guy working their recognizing me. Ended up having to run out to buy a new shirt on my wedding day. Lame!

I’ve taken in quite a diverse assortment of items here and always been satisfied with the result. Items I’ve brought in include a silk blouse, cashmere sweater, wool skirt, and my husband’s suit. All have come back in excellent condition. The man I’ve dealt with is really nice — reminds me of the elderly Italian man my dad used to take his suits to(with me tagging along) when I was a kid. About the only thing Marrara’s doesn’t seem to be able to do is revive a nice dress of mine that was destroyed by another dry cleaner in town. DEFINITELY the best option in State College.

This place was great. Everything came back. The elderly man that helped me was super friendly and even suggestion I got next door for a hem since their shop was backed up. Prices are as I expected. I won’t be going anywhere else during my time in State College.

Despite liking Balfurd’s slogans(Drop your pants here, and you’ll receive prompt attention), I did not like the iffy reviews they were getting all over the net. A suit is something too expensive to mess up on, and my suit(and a couple pairs of dress pants) needed some cleaning. I tried Marrara’s(North Atherton) and was pleasantly surprised. Walking into that store feels like time travel: brown carpet, slightly suspicious smell and very little light. Yet, I was greeted by a very nice older man who took my clothes. I showed him the suit and the pants, some of which had stains that I wasn’t sure if they could be removed. He suggested going for a normal wash with some of the pants, as it would be cheaper and he was pretty convinced it would come off. Nice. I picked up the clothes 3 days later, and everything was fine. Prices were decent(I have little to compare with, but I wasn’t shocked). Overall, I was happy with Marrara’s. I’ll go back whenever I need dry cleaning or have tough stains I can’t get off myself(or don’t want to).
