I just moved to the Area and I loved my experience with Nittany Eye Associates! Very knowledgeable and friendly!

All the people at Nittany Eye Associates are friendly, courteous and helpful. I have been going there for the past 15 years and am very pleased with the competent and helpful professional services I have received. I see Dr. Michael Cymbor who is a top-​notch professional. If you are looking for a place where you will receive great care with friendly service to match, I highly recommend Nittany Eye Associates.

We always receive first class service at Nittany Eye Associates. Our last visit was a great example of this fact. The office is very easy to access both by phone and for appointment times. They really treat patients in a professional manner. It is very pleasing to deal with this practice as you know what to expect– expert care.

My wife and I have been patients of Nittany Eye Associates for over 25 years. We had tried several other Optometrists when we moved back into the area. Nittany Eye Associates have been the the most comprehensive and competent professional Optometrists. We have always been pleased of the care and the time they take with us and our children. They care about the patient and have been helpful about our vision, health and concerns regarding our eyes.

My first visit was about as positive as I hoped it would be. Spacious, clean office, pleasant administrative staff, and excellent care by assistant and Dr. Russell. I am not saying that I can’t wait to go again, but it comes close to it and I actually look forward to soon take time to look at the frames.
And yes, NEA accepts VSP insurance, which I buy through my company.

I’m honestly surprised by all of the five star reviews. I’ve been a patient here for the past five years, and I can say I’m looking forward to moving on to a different optometrist.
The doctors are pompous and condescending. It’s a big office and they always seem to be in a huge hurry to move on to the next patient. 80% of the time is spent with an assistant or an intern.
Yes, the office appears nice, but the last time I was there the assistant complained the entire time about having to update information to «electronic medical records.» It’s 2014 — we all use computers. I tried emailing them for my prescription. It took one week and two emails before getting a response from them.
The first two times I visited they tried adding charges to my exam, above what my insurance was covering, even though they never asked me whether or not I wanted what they were charging me for in the beginning.
Their frame selection is a few years behind trend. They have a lot of designer frames, but they don’t have the most current styles. Here in State College there may not be a lot of options, depending on insurance, but if you have a choice I recommend going elsewhere.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Carlin’s for about 30 years and have always been pleased with his professional competence and demeanor. I have a great deal of respect for and confidence in the services that he provides. I highly recommend Nittany Eye Associates.

I started at Nittany Eye about 10 yrs ago. I would recommend NIttany Eye to anyone, and certainly have.
Dr Mike Cymbor is the best doctor I’ve had, in any discipline. He answers my many questions, is thorough and highly detailed. From what I gather, his associates are the same.
The receptionists are friendly, the assistants are awesome and highly skilled.
The atmosphere at Nittany Eye seems light and relaxed while giving the impression that they know how to treat your eyes with the precision and respect they deserve.

I think this office takes pride in cutting edge technologies. Every time I’m there there’s a new examination machine that results in more precise readings. I’m elated they have a machine that photographs the inner workings of the eye w/​o the need to have your pupils dilated. (My insurance doesn’t cover it, but it’s the best $ 35.00 I’ve ever spent at the eye doctor.)
I’ve been seeing Dr. Talone for the past few years, and I’m always impressed with his thoroughness and attention to detail. His support staff as well — never a bad attitude, and just listening to them interact while waiting it’s clear this is a well oiled machine.
In the «eyeglass» selection area, I’ve worked with Mick the past few years as well. He’s very good and very thorough.
I’m going to absolutely agree with Robin W’s comment on needing an appointment to pick up your glasses. It should take five minutes, here it’s twenty. I understand the office wants to be absolutely positive things were ordered and fit correctly, but this interaction seems rather unnecessary. Perhaps because I’ve never had an issue?

I have been a patient here for many years and have always been very happy with their service. My doctor is very knowledgable and friendly and the staff are all very nice and courteous. I have purchased both glasses and contact lenses from them and they stand behind the products. They provided me free warranty replacement for the lenses in my glasses when they got scratched, and got me complimentary replacements when I had problems with a batch of contact lenses I bought through them. They do a great job working with my insurance provider and letting me know exactly what benefits I have available at each visit.

I see Dr. Trego on an annual basis, and he’s awesome. He’s courteous and kind and answers all of my questions. He’s also patient; I’ve been trying to get fitted for contacts for quite some time, and he’s willing to keep trying to find ones that work for me. I feel like he cares more for me as a patient than the money coming in from my visits. The office is really clean and welcoming, and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
I’ve been to both the Windmere Dr. location, as well as Abigail Ln. (shared with Geisinger Grays Woods), and both locations are extremely nice, clean, and easy to access.

Great practice! All the doctors are great and they have a wonderful staff. They will do their very best ot make sure you are happy with your contact and glasses RX’s and they have frame shows to see the new lines of eye glasses. They also offer Lasik there too! This is an awesome group of eye doctors with the best and newest technologies and they accept most insurance.
