This is a fun store and is a great addition to State College. The owners are two moms who know a lot about quality baby/​kid gear. This is a great place to find gifts for baby showers, cute clothes, and essentials too.

Athens, GA
Spela is an independent children’s boutique that recently opened in State College. It seems to have a good range of items — largely higher-​end but not entirely so. The real value that Spela offers is its play area, surrounded by a seating area for parents. Mom (or dad) can have a cup of coffee and take advantage of free wifi or read a book while the kids play in the enclosed play area. In addition to coffee there is an array of (mainly prepackaged) snacks at reasonable prices. They also have a storytime on Friday mornings but I have not been yet. This is a welcome and unique addition to State College’s retail scene.
