Dani’s Italian Bistro

Went here for a Mother’s Day dinner with family. The Italian dishes that were prepared were enjoyed by all however one of the specials was a ribeye steak for $ 28. I ordered it medium well but what came out was a more than well charred piece of coal. I could not finish the steak due to to the overwhelming taste of burned meat. The diet soda tasted like it was expired. I probably should have ordered an Italian dish and leave steak to steak houses. The wait staff should let you know that their better dishes are Italian and not meats. I think giving a two star is generous. I probably would not return to this venue. Oh and one other thing, my son ordered ice cream for desert and as they scooped it out of containers at the bar, I saw that it was from a stop and shop container. Customers should not see that.

Good food and service for a fair price. I have been there 3 times and the service was excellent and the family owners were very nice.

First noticed this place after driving by for its cute décor. Was looking for a nice place for specialty drinks with my bestie, and this just so happened to be the spot. The cute décor overflowed to the interior of the restaurant with chandeliers and cozy lighting.
They had an amazing holiday menu with drinks ranging from candy cane to coconut macaron martinis. All of the drinks we ordered were carefully made alongside fun conversation.
While we weren’t that hungry we ordered mozzarella en carozza and got some complimentary cheese and crackers to start.
We will definitely be coming back for dinner! This is for sure a neighborhood gem.

Ok so I had a date night with the wife, we walked into reggianos down the block and it was crowded (alot of loud kids) and we walked out. Decided on Dani’s and I’m glad we did. The hostess was very nice and seated up quickly. Had a bottle and some awesome appetizers, baked clams and the arugula salad. They were really good. Main course, chicken bistro and filleto de pomodoro. The bistro was bananas and the pomodoro was good. Then dessert, apple strudel. It was great. The wait staff and bartender were very attentive to our needs and worked well as a team and the prices were very fair. This is a diamond in tottenville, get there soon before it becomes a mob seen. Cuz that’s what’s gonna happen. We will be back undoubtedly.

We went into Dani’s expecting an upscale bistro… the décor was beautiful… however it was understaffed. The restaurant only has 7 tables and a bar… There was only my table and one other table… We were there 2 hours for dinner. Hot antipasto for two was adequate at best. My linguini and clams presented well on the plate, but aside from the fresh clams on the perimeter of the plate, the pasta was tasteless and over-​salted. The waiter never refilled my water, so that didn’t sit well with me.. My husband’s Bolognese sauce was average. I don’t plan on going back. It just didn’t «WOW» me!
