When you need something done and need it done right you call Dave the owner of Edge Signs. I can’t express how professional, precise and efficient he and his employees are. I have done several jobs with Dave and the outcome is always the same, PERFECT!
He is a man of his word. If he gives you a quote (which is always reasonable) he sticks to it, even if there are minor changes.
The most recent request was for «FATHEADS» to be used at an award ceremony. The signs came out perfect and are hilarious. It was so easy to work with Dave. All I had to do was send a quick e-​mail request with what I needed and a few hours later I received a call to come pick them up. I know the awardees will appreciate seeing their «FATHEADS» at the award ceremony and then some :)

Edge awning is the BEST! The owner Dave is amazing and goes above and beyond with costumer service. Me and my wife are first time home owners and we expressed to Dave some issues we were having and he offered a helping hand. On top of all of that he brought his wife with him when they installed my beautiful new awning just so that she could show us new home owners how to properly hang a picture frame. Our whole experience with Edge Awning was a pleasure and we whole heartedly recommend him to everyone. If you need and awning residential or otherwise Dave and his crew at Edge Awning is the way to go!

I must say, Dave is very reliable. Past 6 years when I need help with signs he’s the only one that stands up for his work. I had a problem with our outside perforated signs and he installed it for me. On the 2^nd floor outside window that’s like 7 foot square. I recently had a problem with «sign guy» or was it «sign men» … they installed our outside signs not fully mounted and 2 more that had the arrows direct the clients to our studio. Unfortunately they installed them facing the wrong direction. I contacted them to fix it, its been almost 1 yr and still no one showed up. I called Dave from Edge Signs & Awnings and he took care of it ASAP!
When i’m looking for reliable work, I Can only think of Dave’s Edge Signs. Next time I know who to use regularly!

What an easy and great experience! I needed a new awning installed in the West Village for a new retail flagship store. I’m in Los Angeles and Edge Signs was recommended to me. Dave was super nice and sent me a proof and installed the awning quickly. With so many other worries when opening a new shop it was nice to trust Edge Signs and have them deliver above my expectations without ever having to fly to NY. Thanks for the great job Dave! Will definitely recommend you guys.

I needed an awning done for my business and when I called the owner Dave was very professional. They can out and sized everything to make sure it would fit and it looks great! I will definitely be using this company again

I needed my phone number changed. on my awning, so i called, for an estimate, right away they said that they would come overhand lookout what needed to be done.
The guy came took the measurements gave me a very reasonable price, and the next day the sign was fixed with the new number on it. Very good customer service, fast work, couldn’t ask for anything more. I wish I would of knew about them before I went to Tony Signs, that guy is terrible, irresponsible etc…

The price is reasonable. The work is top quality and the job was completed fast. I very much recommend Dave and his crew. I will hire them again.

We used Edge Signs & Awnings for the insulation of our awning in our back yard. First off, they were the best price out of 5 other companies. Great, quality work and even better people. Everyone was courteous and on time. They told me exactly how long it would take to complete the job and they stood by their word. I would recommend these guys to anyone in the market for any time of awnings. A++++

i had my assistant call several sign companies to get pricing to make our reflective sign for our parking lot for chez vous caterers, gatsby’s on the bay & dock street bar & grill and edge was one of the companies she called.
i knew of the owner dave & the company because he did a sign for us once a few years back. my assistant said the owner was rude when she spoke to him and i responded he was cranky when i dealt with him too and i told her to continue working with him to get pricing. being in business for 27 years and dealing with these difficult times, I have patience for cranking owners and can get cranky myself.
when dave called her back to discuss pricing and they were discussing the signs he proceeded to call the owner of the building a jerk off.
i happen to be the owner of the buildings. when i called him back to question his choice of words, he proceeded to tell me he did not like the way i did business? so i said, than you call someone a jerk off to someone else you do not know.
needless to say, we went with a different company to make our sign.

I don’t think this guy knows how to run a business as a contractor in NYC. Let’s go over my experience with Edge.
a) He said he’d show up at 9:30. he actually showed up at 9:30. You’re supposed to not show up the first time, not apologize, then show up an hour late on the second trip. Showing up on time shows a clear disdain for NYC contracting culture.
b) He told me that a boatload of work would be $ 600. He actually only asked for $ 600. Typically, additional labor is thrown in, or «oh, yeah, you want it to WORK, well, that’s gonna be $ 1000.» I was quoted $ 800-​$ 1500 by others for the same work. He is f#&king it up for everyone else by actually sticking to his quoted prices. Seriously, have you any respect for other contractors? How’s everyone else supposed to make a (dis)honest living?
c) It looks great. Pride in workmanship shows. Come to 522 3^rd ave, see the sign. It’s beautiful. It is identical to the design he was given. You’re supposed to cut corners in a rush to get to the next job as soon as you got the money. Here, care was taken to ensure it was done right.
d) He said he’d put the sign up when I got there. Like a complete asshole, I was an hour and a half late, and he had actually finished putting the sign up when I arrived, before I had paid for it!
If this guy dies, every other signmaker in NYC will be a suspect in the murder investigation. The only negative part of my experience with Edge was when I realized how badly I had been ripped off by every other company I dealt with before I met this dude. For a sign, window decals, anything, use this guy.
The review below seems like a bunch of bunk. One email getting sent to spam by a filter doesn’t warrant a 1 star review. People can be jerks. Ah well.

I wrote a review of this business and it was removed because I did not use specifics. OK, here are the specifics. I wanted this guy to create and put a sign up for me outside my business. He told me to email him my contact info and the design for my sign. I did that an hour after we spoke. Days upon days went by and I heard nothing. Then one day I noticed the rest of the business signs on the communal pole were fixed (this meant he had been there working on the sign). I called him. he said, «You never called me.» I told him that he told me to email him. He then proceeded to give me a lesson on running a business, going on about how whenever you send someone an email, you have to also call them. He said his advice was a «word to the wise.» Apparently email is not good enough for him to do business with me and email was the medium he told me to contact him through. And on top of that he has a bad attitude when speaking to him in person.
