My family and I have attended programs at the Nature Center for many years and are never disappointed. Staff is friendly, programs are creative and inexpensive. The Nature Trail surrounding the Center is also perfect for children.

Have been a member here for almost a year and really enjoy my experience. At $ 100/year, it’s a steal. When I signed up, I figured if I go 10 times, I will have gotten my money’s worth as I’ve spend $ 10(at a minimum) a class on fitness and dance classes in the past. I’ve been going a few times each week. It’s small but suits my needs. I mainly use the elliptical but sometimes go into the weight room. There are some free classes — part of ShapeUp NYC– which you can take whether you are a member or not. I’ve tried the Zumba class which can get too crowded for me at times. Plus, I’m not a «rah rah», «whhhooooo!!! Yeahhhhh!!!» type of person so I get really uncomfortable when the instructor expects vocal participation. I am just not a whooper and hollerer and that type of thing makes me want to run for the hills. But I get it, some people like that and are motivated by it. I have tried a couple of the other non-Zumba classes and they are pretty good, just haven’t had much opportunity to take advantage of them.

The facility here is great and offers a variety of things to do. There’s a fitness center, indoor/outdoor track, kitchen, game room, etc. It’s located in the neck of the woods, so the entrance is a bit easy to miss. Depending on the hour you come, there usually won’t be crowds hovering over the elliptical or the weight stations. What’s great is that annual membership fees for young adults 18 – 24 y/o are only $ 25, which is perfect & affordable! You get access to everything for a small price!
