Great job on all the new features! The stage looks awesome, the bar is nice, the bathrooms are gorgeous. Not to mention the owners are funny and lively. The beer selection is massive, and they have all different types of liquor. Not your typical Staten Island bar which is a nice break from other places. Def will be coming here as often as I can!!!

For those of you who remember the cup, the muddy cup, the full cup, blah, blah, blah, here is the latest incarnation. It’s actually not open yet(bartender told me early October), but Joe Simonelli was given special permission to put on one of his plays here while they are renovating(If you don’t know Joe Simonelli, google him, he’s the best playwright on Staten Island). The stage has been left untouched but there is a new side entrance and the whole front café part is being gutted and resurrected. I was told it will be strictly over 21 from now on, so no luck for you high school rockers. All and all, I’m pretty excited to see the final product,

Charlie brought me here after talking about Bobby being the new proprietor… new brand is #Hashtag Bar… Staten Island’s first Music Venue. Easily holds 200… great sound and lighting… they’re actually shooting something here as we speak… an independent comedy… very cool… Bobby is a sweetheart… contagious smile and laugh… definitely following these guys. I’ll be back.

We went to the Full Cup last night to hear acoustic music. Bobbie, the friendly bartender, made us feel welcome and mixed me a special fruity drink — which I loved. Fruity but not too sweet. It has a neighborhood bar feeling — laid back, people talking. We sat at the bar and then moved to a table closer to the stage when the music started. I like that it’s roomy enough to do that. The Full Cup has a series of theme nights with different styles of music and I plan to check those out. And tell my friends.

This place is one of the best places on Staten Island. I wish there were more places like this on the island. There is always some cool event going on here. Great music and a great bar. It’s a cool spot to unwind at night. The people are really nice and friendly. Very intimate setting.

I have been going here for years. The drinks are moderately priced and the crowd is hip. Usually go there for live bands /local band shows. I love the fact they have the beer and whiskey drink special sometimes, and I love that they have anything but«normal» beer selection. The neighborhood is eh, but thats where all the good bars are anyway!

I think its great Staten Island has some sort of music club to go to. Its fun to see the local bands and I found a few really cool ones when I came here. Its fun to come on Fridays or Saturdays to have a beer and watch some live music.

This place has some swag, especially for the area of Staten Island that it is on. They have a front lounge area that sells coffee, tea, cookies, etc. You can chill out on couches and whatever. In the back they have a stage for bands to setup on and a full bar. The bar is really nice. The back room is small, but that’s okay. I just don’t get why they keep changing their name. Tax problems?

It’s fun for karaōke-ing in the back. Don’t order the food. My mac and cheese tasted like sand and mush. Service is great though. The bartender paid attention to small details. Two big thumbs up for that.

Ive seen many shows here and have performed comedy here myself. its a very nice downtown St. George spot with a great ambiance. the owner is a great down to earth guy who surrounds himself with very creative, artsy, talented people. You can come here and check out or perform at an open mic or just come for a beer. The place changed hands maybe 3 times in the last 10 years, but this time they got it right. theres something to do EVERY night of the week, and Jay Miller runs a lot of special shows out of here including an open mic on Mondays. If your ever in the area, stop in and ask for Bobby(the owner). He’ll show you around.

I went here to see Meat My Friends, a regular burlesque show that came to Staten Island for the first time this weekend-as an aside, I recommend seeing the next performance when you get the chance. First of all, let’s look at the drawbacks of this bar. 1. There are no bar stools. I don’t know if this is by design, or if they were in the shop, but the fact is there was nothing to sit on once you had ambled up to the bar. There were also only five tables, notwithstanding the fact that there were several dozen patrons. I know business owners, especially in a city like this, face onerous regulations, confiscatory taxes, exorbitant rent, and innumerable obstacles to succeeding as entrepreneurs. Still, if you can swing two large screen TVs chances are you can afford a few pieces of perpendicular wood. 2. The food. I wouldn’t have a problem if the Full Cup offered no food, i.e. was just a bar where people go to drink. But if you’re going to serve food your selection should include a little bit more variety than a veggie burger and two types of sandwiches. Now on to the good points. 1. An incredibly friendly, helpful, competent staff. This is the part of the bar that impressed me the most, and would make me want to come back to the Full Cup if I ever returned to Stapleton-which probably won’t happen, but is an interesting thought experiment nonetheless 2. Very spacious, non-claustrophobic venue. This is probably the second-best attribute of the bar, and nothing to sniff at. It’s the opposite of the narrow, congested bars that are the bane of my existence. 3. Reasonably priced drinks. Always a plus-although the fact that they had no Guinness minutes after opening goes in the negative column. Overall, I’d say the Full Cup is a decent bar. I’d have to go there a few more times in order to form a more well-rounded impression, but based upon my first visit I’d recommend it to other Staten Islanders.

I don’t find many venues on Staten Island appealing, but this place is an exception. They have good coffee. It’s a real cute spot. I went on a night when they were having a comedy show and it was nice. I got drunk and had a good time. The crowd is not your typical staten island bunch which is a plus.

I was a bit surprised when we ventured to Staten Island to see The Templars at Bound for Glory’s anniversary party and it was at… a coffee shop. But, fear not, gentle readers, simply make your way to the back of this establishment, and you are in an adorable bar. This is a great place to see an intimate show — there is plenty of room on the floor for a small show, and if the bar area had been set up better, there would have been plenty of room there, too. My only complaints about this place are regarding the bar and the slow-ass-sloth bartenders. Otherwise, things were looking up. The fact that I only go to Staten Island for Bound for Glory Tattoo-related adventures, coupled with the fact that this place is a coffee shop doubling as a bar leads me to wonder if the bartenders are indeed even bartenders. It was really crowded in the small bar area — mostly because there were a bunch of barstools in the middle of the room blocking about 1⁄3 of the bar from patrons’ ability to stand at it — and the bartenders seemed, as one dude behind me in line at the bar commented, as though they had taken a bunch of percocets. I will say, I did appreciate the bartender telling the rowdy dude behind me «ladies first,» especially since I’d been waiting about ten minutes to get my drink already AND was standing in front of said rowdy dude. Anyway. Regardless… this place is cute. The surf-theme stage is hilarious, the obsession with«Van Duzer»(the dumb name of the street it’s on), and the set-up of the space in general all really work. I like how crowded it seemed without actually being mushed up against people. Next show, move the freakin’ bar stools and take the bartenders’ hands out of the candy bag. ;)

I really don’t know what to make of this place — my experience has varied greatly depending on the time of day and whether or not there were any events going on. I’m an introverted person — I like my cafes quiet and peaceful. Going here in the morning or early afternoon has worked for me — there usually aren’t many people around, but at night it can be a bit crowded and noisy. As for service, the people who work here are friendly and efficient. I’ve found that the quality of the beverage depends on who makes it. I’ve ordered an iced mocha from them twice. The first time it tasted stale, which is weird for an espresso-based drink. The second time, I ended up with the best iced mocha I had ever tasted(which is really saying something — as I happen to be a barista myself), made with care by a girl named Chris who really seemed to appreciate the art of making espresso. She added just the right amount of chocolate and a touch of brown sugar. Had it not been for her, I would have given this place three stars instead of four. Props.
