I used order from this place everyday and lately I do not like the quality of the food. It’s fresh but tasteless. Please order good fish!!!

I still think about their pepper tuna roll — perfectly tender and juicy in incredible sauce. The grilled squid is better than any you could find in the other boroughs. Frankly the rest of the my trip to S.I. was like I had gone back in time(a time I don’t care for) but I would be willing to deal with teenagers’ ignorant comments to come back to this oasis.

Hubs and I came here after we found our regular place was insanely crowded. The service was superb! Very attentive, but not stalkers. The sushi was just ok. It was a little strange about the almost total silence of the place(no music), that is until two families with screaming small kids came in, and one family with a very bubbly and loud teenager came in. I probably won’t come back on my own. It wasn’t terrible, just ok.

Love them. Sushi is fresh and their staff is personable. They are small though inside and their location is in a stuffy place as far as parking goes.

I usually pass this place almost everyday but never went in, last week I decided it to give it a try after reading and hearing a lot of great reviews. I was not disappointed. I tried them for lunch and got your basic sushi rolls spicy tuna/salmon and eel avocado and it was great. I went a few days later for dinner and it was awesome; from the appetizer to the entrees. Everything was delicious and the service was great. The fish for the sushi tasted fresh and the specialty rolls we ordered were fantastic. The place is also reasonably priced and you get good portions. The people working there are also very nice and polite. This will be my regular sushi place from now on and I would recommend them. I’ve been to dozens of sushi places on the island and It’s nice to go to a place were the food is good and the hype isn’t about trendiness or over advertising such as fushimi. Simple math: Good food + good service = great dining experience. The spicy dragon and double crunch spicy roll were my favorite. The tuna pizza and volcano special in the appetizers were also so yummy!

Amazing food! Everything is always fresh, hot and exactly as I ordered it. I used to go to Arirang(eh) before I knew about this place, but now that I live in the area, this will be the ONLY Japanese place I go to. I’m a vegetarian, and they have so much to choose from! The staff is also extremely friendly and accommodating. A+

It’s probably best sushi place on the Island! Food is outstanding, service is definitely delightful. The best compliment to chief. And a dessert! It was amazing! Never leave this place without a dessert in the end. Thank you guys! You made my night!

Good clean place. Nice spot for a weekday meal … Quiet and no one is pulling plates away from you as you are trying to finish your last bite. Fish was well cut and of reasonable quality. Brooklyn bridge for two was plenty to share and came with a nice variety of fish, they were open to substituting fish we didn’t want. Meal pacing was nice as well our appetizers came out with the soups and then as we were finished the rest of the food came out. Not sushi Yasuda by any means but acceptable for Staten Island. Second time here must say not impressed at all. Christmas Eve and we are the only ones here — 40 minutes for food. Fish was extremely cold and watery almost as if it just defrosted. Rolls were huge but not because they were filled with fish — way too much rice. Actually rice was he only thing you tasted. So I must bring my review down from 4 to 3 stars. Simply didn’t cut it somewhat inconsistent flavors.

This place has mediocre, expensive sushi. I had high hopes but was pretty disappointed. All of the cucumber in our rolls was bitter. Unfortunately will not be coming back.

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in NY! The peanut avocado roll is a must try. The price is reasonable. Great staff! Very clean and customer friendly! Would surely recommend this place to anyone

Great little place in the middle of «nowhere». Here is what I would recommend in additions to your regular sushi: Okinawa appetizer is really good. So is the shrimp shumai. Dragon roll was good. There is a «happy hour» between 3 – 6 and some things are on discount but not a big one. I think 20% on appetizers. Mango mochi for dessert and you are good to go.

The sushi here is unbelievable! I like everything about this place and tonight I decided if I could I would give it six stars. They have a lot of different special rolls. Some of the rolls have lobster, while others have mango and so many other options. The angry dragon roll and paradise roll are both winners. The Hawaii roll is a tasty medley of fruit and fish. The options are endless and everything is delicious! The service is impeccable. Tonight my car was hit while parked in the lot and the man, maybe owner, brought my friend and I umbrellas as we waited for the police. Also he kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. Talk about good service! After my first visit this became my go to sushi spot. I come here whenever I am craving tasty sushi and time to catch up with some friends.

Came here for lunch on Sunday. I was kinda feeling sick and after reading one review about getting a food poisoning I decided to stick to mostly vegetarian food here. I ordered tom yum soup, avocado salad. My husband got tuna roll, Unilocal tuna and mackerel. Over all the food was good. Avocado salsa was very fresh and delicious. Tom yum is very spicy but that’s what I needed for my throat! Tuna roll, yellowtail tuna and mackerel were fresh and good. The rice used for sushi had a perfect texture. Loved this place. I will go here again.

One of my favorite places for sushi on Staten Island, my personal reason for going here is the consistency of the quality of fish and sushi rolls. Black pepper tuna special for an appetizer is a hit with me. The sea world and under the sea special rolls are my personal favorites, the special sauces they come with are so good ! The staff is always super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this spot.

My brother and SIL clearly have been paying attention to my eating habits back home because when they rescued me from having to have dinner with my parents after being gone for over ten years they both agreed nothing would make me happier than a good fresh sushi dinner. They were right. After I white knuckled the car ride over to their house in Staten Island, my brother kindly took over the wheel and drove us here. It was a little after 8pm on a Monday and the restaurant was fairly empty. Our server was very attentive and allowed us ample time to review the menus and place our drink orders. Apparently we had not eaten in years as we placed quite the order. For appetizers we ordered: Sushi Pizza — I was pretty impressed with this dish. The«pizza» was served with salmon and tuna over a crispy pancake with tobiko, some scallions and what I am pretty sure was cheese. While this sushi pizza does not compare with my favorite sushi pizza at Morimotos, I will still give this 3,5/5 stars. Yellow Tail with Jalapeño — This was my favorite. The Yellow Tail was sliced perfectly and the ponzu sauce was not over powering. The jalapenos were sliced just thin enough to provide the right amount of heat and balance to the dish. 5⁄5 Rock Shrimp Tempura — This dish reminded me a lot of the Bang Bang Shrimp that you can get at Bonefish Grill. Simple and tasty. 5⁄5 Crispy Duck Salad — This dish was really good as well. The salad was served tempura style with spicy mayo and hoisin sauce. My only complaint was that you could not really taste the duck in all of the rolls. 3.5/ As if the appetizers weren’t enough we all ordered some rolls as well: Sweetheart Roll — Beautiful presentation. I enjoyed the flavors of this roll. Hawaiian Roll — I was not a fan of this roll. The roll stated that there was mango in the roll however I was not able to taste the mango and felt that the wasabi over powered all the other flavors in the roll to include the fish. My SIL ordered the Sea World Roll which I did not try and the Sexy Lady roll which was delicious. My brother ordered three rolls which I do not remember the names of. We also ordered the fried bananas with ice cream for desert which were lick the plate good. Would definitely come back next time I’m on this side of the world.
