From the appetizer to the main sushi course to the desert(red bean ice cream), including the service and the venue, everything was superb.

They have pretty good sushi. Dinner and lunch specials are decently priced with a nice portion of food. Cheaper than other places and about the same quality and quantity per order

Delicious, friendly and great service. They have great lunch specials. The spicy tuna roll and avocado peanut roll are my favorite. Really only thing negative I can say from my experience is the service was TOO good.

Great place! Their sushi is great, I’ve tried many types of their sushi and I have no complaints. It’s also very fresh so definitely recommend! Try their special Staten Island roll!

The absolute best sushi on the island. They’ve been open almost 2 years now, and we have gone to no other sushi place since their opening. The food is always fresh — no matter what you order — and the presentation is always 5 star. The owner is there all the time, making sure the customers are happy. No need to think twice with this one, you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve eaten here a number of times and the food was always excellent. Admittedly, I always order a sushi dinner so I have not tried many menu items, but I stick with it because it has always been very good. My wife has ordered a number of non-sushi items and has always been very happy. I doubt you can go wrong with anything on the menu.

Oddly for us we ordered cooked fish for delivery — it was fresh and well prepared. My favorite though was duck appetizer! We will order sushi next time!

Misaki is located inside the Woodrow shopping center off of Rossville avenue and Woodrow road for those who may not be familiar with the area. Misaki gets a solid Four Stars. Acoustics are not loud. Nice wooden tables with regular and booth style seating. The blue walls give an aquatic scenery feel. The Location is so so do the shopping plaza being fully renovated and reengineered so parking can be scarce at times. Once the construction is finished you can bet they’ll have a larger customer base. Onto the meal at hand. Appetizer: K-Mac Sliders — You receive two patties of spicy tuna sandwiched between a crispy rice bun with some tobiko sprinkled on top. What an innovative way to put a twist on iconic sushi order. These can be messy as you may not want to order on a first date lol. Sushi Rolls: Combo B(3 Rolls) — Spicy Tuna, Spicy Yellowtail, Spicy Salmon. Also your choice Soup or Salad. The rolls are stuffed to a good size although they do come apart at times. This could be do to how absolutely fresh everything is and the rice just didn’t stick properly. Naturo Roll– Cucumber thinly sliced rolled around salmon, tuna, crab and avocado. There is no rice in this roll making it very healthy choice. Amazing flavor large portion and just a must try. Entrée: Chicken Pad Thai. This was very tasty. The flavor blended so well from the peppers to the crushed peanuts. The chicken was not dry. The noodle was not over cooked. You can use chopsticks as I do. The authentic way too try this dish. Cheaters yes you may use a fork but not necessarily needed. Misaki goes above and beyond when it comes to the presentation of dishes. The presentations are very colorful. The flavorful food here is definitely worth the wait but for most(the impatient) remember the service is a little more on the slower side here. I guess that comes with the detail they put in making precision cuts of fish and adding just the right spices to the pad Thai so they’ll get a get out of jail free pass from me. I would recommend Misaki to friends and family as well as those who may be looking for a smaller more intimate date night area.

Eh, I don’t know how this place has 4+ stars on Unilocal.Must be you staten islanders. Everything was mediocre, but what brings my rating down from 3 stars to 2 was the UNI. Don’t be fooled by the pics, because it must have been a good day with fresh uni. When I ordered it however, I got some really bad not-fresh uni you could tell by the coloring and then by the taste. Had to throw some out because I was afraid of being sick. Torched salmon was not bad, but lacking in flavor. Handrolls were like any other handrolls. Wasn’t impressed.

Excellent service, interesting presentation and great quality sushi. This place is a jewel on Staten Island. Hidden away in the wondrous shopping plaza on Woodrow, Misaki whipped up some delicious seafood. We started with a Spicy Tuna Pizza, which was different and delicious. I’d recommend this appetizer if you’re looking to try something different. Next the Sushi and Sashimi combo came in a towering display of style and unique design, mounted with a glowing presence. The spicy tuna rolls were crunchy and the Oh My God roll was very good, supremely wrapped in pink soybean paper. THUMBSUPFORMISAKI.

Great food, excellent service, and modern décor! My date and I were warmly greeted by all of the staff, and promptly seated. Our friendly and polite waitress efficiently and accurately took our order. We ordered the kani salad, pineapple fried rice, and a few rolls. I like that they have several rolls that are riceless for those of us watching our carb intake! I ordered the misaki roll, which was riceless & delicious. They do a great job with food presentation-every dish is a work of art! I would definitely come here again :)

I only give this place 4 stars because im not sure what 5 stars really is, but this is my favorite so far as my second review on Unilocal. I ordered the ½ dozen oysters(sooo fresh) and after that i ordered king crab sashimi, fluke sashimi and salmon belly(salmon belly was insane, very fatty which only means deliciousness) which this is my first time ever trying so im excited. My second dish was fatty tuna and scallop sashimi which was very good as well and as you can tell i love sashimi, but this place has a nice selection of sake as well hehehe, so ill be back a couple of more times at least, pricey but so worth it if you like the double S(sushi @saki) check out my pics please, ty

Definitely an above average sushi restaurant. Like a previous Unilocaler said, I too could not have imagined giving a sushi restaurant in Woodrow 5 starts but it is well deserved. From the outside, the restaurant doesn’t look special, but when you walk inside it has a trendy, intimate atmosphere. Very clean and modern décor and colorful lighting. Service is impeccable, everyone is extremely attentive and polite, which personally adds to the dining experience. The warm hand-towels they offer before you order is a great touch, makes the experience more enjoyable and you do not feel like your being rushed in and out. Its those little things that count. As far as the menu goes, they have a wide selection with some very interesting combinations. I recommend asking about their specials, those are extremely delicious. I HIGHLY recommend the: «Dragon Balls» from their specials for an appetizer. I really hope that the special will be a permanent addition to the menu. Side from the gorgeous presentation, the dish was king crab with shrimp mixture covered in avocado with a light dressing. It forms good sized«dragon balls» which makes it a great dish to share. & I have always wanted to try Live Uni, for whatever reason I have always put it off, but lo and behold Misaki was offering it on their daily specials. Needless to say it was everything I expected and more, the presentation was outstanding and taste was as fresh as can be. If you have never experienced live uni and you are feeling adventurous, I do recommend giving it a try. As an entrée, my boyfriend and I ordered the Sushi and Sashimi Lover entrée. It is severed with 5 pcs of sushi, 10 pcs sashimi, one Naruto roll, one salmon avocado roll and one rainbow roll for $ 34. As value goes, it is a great deal. Very filling and fresh. Only con was the rainbow and salmon avocado roll was very poorly rolled making it very hard to pick up without everything falling out, and they were on the slightly boring/lower quality side. But that was forgiven as everything else in the meal was top notch. Overall, I think I found my new go-to sushi spot on Staten Island. Everything that I have tried was unique and executed flawlessly. I will definitely be becoming a regular here.

I’m a Queens girl at heart, but if they keep making sushi as fresh as this, I may have to trek out to Staten Island more often. $ 15 toll for the Verrazano bridge? No problem, car pool. I celebrated a girlfriend’s birthday with a group of 8 plus two babies on a Saturday afternoon. Wait staff was friendly, accommodating and goes above and beyond to make your dining experience an enjoyable one. Thank you Steven for being a wonderful host. One thing that pops out about this establishment is that it’s clean and neat. Décor was modern and contemporary(love the bathroom btw, gives me ideas on my future home). Alright, on to the star of the show: the delicious food! Mind you, we were all very hungry so don’t judge! We ordered(muliple of each): The Deliciousness: Duck salad Rock shrimp Spicy tuna sandwich Misaki roll Torched salmon belly Toro Lamb chops Spicy scallop roll Spicy tuna roll And about 6 – 8 other rolls… The favorites: Scallop sashimi with uni on top — served on top of a slice of lemon, this dish had so many levels. Scallop was like buddahhh and the uni was so fresh! Eel dragon roll — with spicy tuna inside. Normally, it’s drown in soy sauce but this was very simple and minimalistic approach. Something so bare but it showcased all its flavors at its best. One of the best rolls I’ve had here. Pleasantly surprised. K-mac sliders — crunchy semi salty waffer acts as the«bun» sandwiching avacodo, spicy tuna, rice and topped with caviar. This was oh so tasty! And what a creative way of putting everything together. We had three orders and it was gobbled up within minutes. Yeah, we’re foodie gangsters like that. A must get. The chef did an amazing job at exercising his creativity and skills. You really can’t go wrong with what you order. Kudos to you Misaki!

I am not surprised by the other great reviews on here. This place is amazing!!! Not only is it in my neighborhood. It’s so close. I was more than ecstatic when I saw them building it. & little by little the excitement grew. Last night I ordered 2 spicy tuna rolls 1 Cali roll 1 clear soup My order was about $ 11! I was shocked. Most places have spicy tuna rolls for $ 5-$ 6. Theirs was $ 2 and change. Super cheap. Then I get to pick my order up… Doesn’t look like it belongs in Woodrow plaza thats for sure. It’s so nice ! But as Woodrow plaza up and comes it will fit right along. So I’m like okay super cheap and so nice. Here’s the real test… Took a bite and was… amazed. Food is excellent !!! Ordering a lot in the near future. Happy customer. {$ 10 min for delivery}

My fiancé has told me about this new sushi place near his home few weeks ago, and finally we got a chance to give it a tried on the July 4th weekend. My first impression about this place is very fresh and clean. As we sit down, I notice some fresh flowers in a little vase on the table. Beside the flowers, I also noticed that the salad was very cold and crisp. Before the meal, the waitress gave use some hot towel to clean our hands. These small details tell a a lot about the place. We have ordered Chilean Sea Bass, Oh My God Roll and the Basil Chicken. I would say all the food are above average.

In a time where it seems that so many sushi restaurants are more interested in simply getting you in and out than actually reminding you why you came in, Misaki Sushi sets itself way apart from the average«restaurant.» From the initial warm greeting as you enter to the well wishes as you depart, coming to Misaki reminds of the real reason any of us go out to eat at all. Let alone does the spectacular food remind your taste buds of what the limits of fresh and savory can be, but it’s the service that satisfies that seemingly faint urge these days to enjoy wonderful ambience and the company of folks who love what they do! Kudos to the manager Steven for making it his goal to achieve this type of experience! Regarding our food, the evening felt like a series of confirmations for what certain dishes«should be.» Appetizers such as the k Mac sliders amazingly married a mix of creamy and crisp. I have never tasted wonton skins used in such a fun manner! Talk about an authentic and original sushi slider! Tuna carpaccio was made even more perfect with a drizzling of wasabi mayo that would add an epic kick to the sweetness of the fresh filet of ruby red tuna. Their Chilean sea bass, besides being regally decorated, was a level of plump flakiness that my tongue had never encountered. Lined with a kind amount of sweet and savory sauce, I could’ve left that evening just fine as it were. But that was just the appetizer. For our main courses, it would be safe to say that the items in the sushi regular for 1 and the sushi and sashimi for 1 could’ve probably been imitated at any other restaurant. But as mentioned earlier, Misaki creates the sushi experience as it «should be.» Unfortunately, while I’m not a connoisseur of fishes of the sea, one needn’t be an expert to love the deliciousness that comes from diversity! From the buttery yellowtail and seared salmon all the way down to the perfectly seasoned rice and cucumbers that wrapped, the main dishes were worthy of a standing ovation. Simply take a glance at my pictures to see how well-crafted each dish was! Both entrees, in their respective make-ups tasted of the finest and freshest fish one could catch. Additionally, the sauces, the arrangements, the creativity, and the perfect execution must not be forgotten. One cannot help but pinch themselves to ensure they’re not dreaming. The amount of time it must’ve taken to prepare each of our dishes shows itself in these artisan-like takes on traditional sushi orders Overall a top-notch experience. Aiming to bring more friends. Reasonably priced. A GEMFORTHECOMMUNITY.
