This review is not for the actual doctors as I was unable to actually get to see them. I didn’t think it would be fair to give no stars to someone whom I haven’t gotten to see yet, which is why I left it a neutral starred review. Having said that, this review is for the receptionist I spoke to upon calling for information. If I could, I would’ve given 1 star for customer service in particular. She was snotty and cold, and rudeness is not something I take lightly. There is no excuse for attitude in general, especially within a professional setting. Although not the doctors fault, these are the faces of your office and it reflects poorly on them. I had previously heard the staff was rude, as well as read the same; however, I chose not to judge based on others. Now I can judge because I witnessed probably just the tip of the iceberg for myself. In my search for a new gynecologist, I came across this office. According to the online websites, they were currently accepting new patients so I was excited. The office is on my way home and so I decided to call. When I called I said, hi how are you… no response… so awkwardly I continued, uhm, I was wondering if you were accepting new clients(even though the site said they were). She curtly replied, no. Again a few seconds of silence went by as I was thinking she’d elaborate. I got nothing so I said, oh, I was asking because online it had said you were accepting new patients(hoping now she’d elaborate). She replied abruptly, well, we’re not. End of conversation. I could have continued to push but it wasn’t worth my effort. I said, ok well thank you anyway. Have a nice day. At least she said, you too, before hanging up. I hung up and thought to myself, wow, really.?! Working sucks, I get it. You could’ve had an awful morning. I get that too. That is why I’m always extremely nice. But what about me? I work too. I hate it too. I have bad days too, but I still manage to be polite. I do believe in 2nd chances so maybe in the future I’ll call again to see if they have space but you really don’t have a second chance for a first impression and mine wasn’t great. Hopefully it was an isolated incident and I’m completely wrong. Life’s too short to be treated like you’re annoying someone for doing their job.

Okay but a little difficult to get a hold of this doctor off hours for emergiences and the office hours are odd. Never seem to be in.

Best Gynecology Group on Staten Island! Also the most experienced. They don’t deliver babies anymore so wait time is short for appointments and also when you arrive at the office. They also specialize in Menopause, which is very helpful to me. Dr. Ponterio takes the time to explain things in a way I can understand. She makes sure I am up to date on all my tests, and will answer all my questions on each visit. Definitely was worth the switch from my previous GYN.

Terrible. Impossible to get an appointment. 2 hour waits upon arrival. Snotty, too-busy-for-you receptionists. No parking(unless you park at the Walgreens across the street). They close the office for weeks for vacations without letting patients know, leaving them in the lurch when an emergency refill is needed. Terrible.
