came here for a birthday party. the bouncers r located inside the skating rink. i find it very dangerous since kids can trip and fall right on the concrete floor. no padding or anything getting off the bouncers. pump it up and bounce u r much better options.

Saturday afternoon w the family. Great skating, fun music, disco lighting. Skate staff is amazing… offered a hand anytime anyone fell — super nice. A great family activity.

Came here for a Birth Day party, the kids was very excited. They had blow up slides and bounce houses, arcade food/​drink area, they even had a lounge. They looked pretty well staffed and pretty organized. I haven’t experienced the skate adult nights, but hear it is really cool. Will go back to experience the adult night. They also had music so that was a plus, the workers pretty helpful.

My son went there today with his summer camp group. 5 kids ended up sitting on the sidelines because the place did not have enough skates of their size. So they sat there for hours wasting their time, buying junk food. I am upset at the camp for not coming to alternative solution. I am upset at the Rollerjam because they knew this age group was coming, and still they did not make sure they have enough skates.

Came here for adult skating on Saturday. This place was cool for a Saturday night. There was a $ 10 cover charge and a $ 5 charge if you rent skates. Not too bad. The rink is lit up with spinning lights. They had bottle service type sitting areas and a small bar with a little kitchen area behind it where you can order small things like fries and hamburgers.
Skating was fun. The rink was a tad small but big enough to fit maybe 50 people. The music was very 60’s and 70’s in the beginning but it was songs I’ve never heard of so it made skating a little boring. Kept waiting for some radio tunes to come on but maybe heard like 5 songs I knew that played for 1 minute after mixing into songs I didn’t know.
The crowd had a lot of regulars who were in their early 40’s, late 50’s. Most people seemed like professional skaters. They seemed to really love the music but I wasn’t a fan. I wanted something that would bring me back to the days when I skated as a kid. Hits of the 70’s 80’s & 90’s! But it just never happened. Oh well.

It’s a nice facility and roller skating is a good activity for kids, but they play the music ridiculously loud and refuse to lower it even when you ask them to. The staff is rude and unprofessional.
UPDATE: I came back with my kids and the volume of the music is so much more reasonable today. I guess I’m not the one who complained. Im uping my rating from one star to three because the DJ raises the volume incrementally until it’s unbearable by the end of the day. Frankly, if they replaced the DJ with a laptop and pandora set to a reasonable volume, I’d give them 5 stars. The DJ is honestly the worst thing about this place. He makes the music loud, plays things that aren’t appropriate for the 10 and under crowd, and plays the same mix of crappy 90’s songs with the age inappropriate modern songs.

I was not satisfied with the service of this establishment. My site had a 2 hour skating session. The DJ did not come in to play until the last 15 minutes, leaving us to hear a mix of the same 10 songs repeatedly. The staff was unfriendly and gave attitudes when asking for assistance. The food was not great at all. I would not come back here or recommend this place for large groups.

This was a really great night!
We came here on a whim after my boyfriend was looking to show off his roller blading skills. We rented roller blades. They weren’t in great condition, but the attendants were very nice and switched them out for us when we realized the clips were broken.
The bartenders were AWESOME and so nice. All the people there are friendly and it’s like a little community of different ages.
The rink was a little smaller than I expected and the music was slightly dry because it was 90% 80’s music but they played a few recent songs in between.
I would definitely come here again, but maybe with some bandaids because all our feet hurt from skating so much!

Awesome night! Rollerblading or rollerskating, your choice! Rollerskating looked harder but these people were pros! Dancing, twirling, rolling backwards all on skates or blades! I had an amazing time but I was mesmerized just watching people intertwining! They had a huge disco ball and music was hip hop, R&B, old school classics and just a very amusing environment! The rink is not THAT big, it’s not small either but I definitely got nervous bumping into someone or someone ramming into me, which happened! First very cool adventure in SI! I would totally go again! Maybe next time I can drink while blading and do some twirls myself!!!

this is the place to be (true story). i was invited to attend a birthday party. we took a party bus there so we was already turnt up! the security checked out id’s becuase of course we look like 18 but really 28 lol! anyway that was smooth. we gave the lady our tickets for admission. we got seated at the birthday girl section all was good. food was on deck (pizza, wings and unlimited drinks). the music was dope for the 80’s parties theme. the game room is hella fun too. lol i didnt skate since skate key so i was like a baby learning to walk. i got on the skate floor and was saying to myself the whole time —dont fall ayyy this my song– dont fall dont get hype lol! this guy was there doing the spider man– he was niceeee! OH YEA AND IF YOU DONT WANT TO SKATE U CAN JUST CHILL AND DANCE BECUASE IT’S ENOUGH SPACE FOR ALL TYPE OF ACTION im going back !!! you coming???

I just had my daughters 7^th birthday party here. I chose to have the bounce party instead of skating. I paid extra to have a private party. So worth it. Kids bounced for 2 hours then played in the arcade. The adults had a nice time also. they were able to have an alcholic beverage at the bar. The food was good. Even the adults got to play in the bounce houses. A great time would def have another party here.

I was just rolling, skating thru that place like i was in some type of old school movie and having me a blast! I am so happy I finally got to do this since its been so long and sure made me miss skating, and I’m talking about 4 wheels not the new school rollerblades, Im talking about old school skates which are the best and classic!
Came here on a Friday night with my mom and family since we love to skate and we had us a good time, we got to the place theres a private parking lot, they charge you $ 10 to skate and $ 4 for skate rental, there is lockers for 75cents to put your things away and out to the rink you go! There is a live DJ and cool lights and disco ball and you just show off those moves. It was lots of fun and age appropriate for all kids and adults.
There is a arcade area, mini food area and bar also.
Adult nights is Saturday nights which is 21+ and its $ 20 for skating and rental and you have 70’s and 80’s music with LIVE DJ and theres also a full bar! So I will def. be checking that out soon and see how that goes down!
Got my white skates with pink wheels and my pom poms on! Taking it back old school even though I am not that much older but I love skating and it was totally fun!

This is the last in a series of Staten Island reviews I’ll be doing, based on my «Staten Island Adventure» with Jill R. and Rebecca G.
So… I’ve wanted to come to this place for close to two years. I can thank Rebecca for driving here and making my dreams come true. Growing up in suburban New Hampshire… well, we had places like Skate 3. Janky little roller skate places that I would go to for 3^rd grade birthday parties. I’ve basically waited my whole life for an adult version (PG rated, guys) of this, very similar to the Jessica Simpson video for «Public Affair.»
We went on a Saturday night. I think it’s fair to say that all of us were super intimidated. Rebecca gets the award for embracing it the most (she really did skate more than Jill and I combined). It may have also had something to do with the fact that she was the best on skates… it’s been over a decade since I’ve fitted my feet for a pair of old school rollerskates, maybe even more like 15 years actually because I’m an old fart and I forget. But if you are looking for SERIOUS rollerskating, it’s here and it’s on Saturday night. People dress up, guys. There were two chicks behind us coming in costumed as matching Cleopatras. Can’t even make that up.
My feet hurt so bad after like 40 minutes. People go hella fast, and as a novice… it might make you worried that you’re going to become rollerskate roadkill. But the people here are surprisingly nice (especially after me seeing some of the more horrible: shrugs: after Bryant Park ice skating spills this season), and people definitely pick you up and help you out if you fall. And I only seriously fell once. People kind of nudge you if they’re about to hit you, so if you’re not down for random roller skating strangers patting your shoulder as a heads up, you might not have fun here.
Also, I fell in love. I didn’t know his name, but he was a really good skater boy and I had to say see you later boy. He had a white shirt and a black hat. He was there with his friends, but he looked bored and kind of sad probably because he hadn’t met me yet. I’m turning my Unilocal review into a missed connection and I don’t even care. It was many months ago but I still love him like the moment I saw him. In other news, they have an arcade here, so even if you don’t fall in love you’ll probably be really happy if you love skeeball.
The company helped. Rebecca held my hand and skated with my romantic, and Jill was willing to metaphorically ice my shins on the sidelines when they hurt so bad I couldn’t stand. I can’t imagine a more perfect evening, despite the fact that the rain was trying keep us away. If heaven was a rollerskating rink, it would be this place. Go here. I can’t imagine you being sorry.

Being among thee last roller skating joints in NYC this place automatically gets my approval. But I will not say it is perfect.

Most of the time the DJ is awful with the strangest most in-​cohesive transitions that will destroy your whole groove and temporarily cause you to STOP skating.
This place is in the absolute middle of no where. It’s even far for most Staten Island residents. If you don’t have a car you can completely forget about it. This place might as well be in Iceland.
For keeping roller skating alive I will continue to support this place. It is a ton of fun & perfect for taking a trip down memory lane.

Had my sons 5^th birthday party here. it was fabulous. the staff was so accomodating & helpful the kids absolutely loved the bounce house party & the price was great.

Came on out to Staten Island for some nostalgia and rollerskating with a bachelorette party. We took a limo from the city, and had some drinks and fun on the way… it was an easy trip – no traffic, not too long of a drive.
We weren’t sure what to expect at Rollerjam USA, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was quite clean and modern. It was $ 15 to get in, and $ 5 for rental, so $ 20 total. There were 10 of us, ready to see if we could still skate after decades.
The employees were nice enough… although I did think it was very strange that we had to go through security and sign a waiver when entering.
Here’s what was underwhelming about it. Although it was adult night, and there was a bar, and all of us were ready to have a great time… got all dolled up – 80’s style… there were about 20 people there, total, and they were pretty much 40 – 60 in age. Our group ranged from 25 – 40, and were happy to party with anyone, HOWEVER, these were serious skaters who were not to excited by us wall-huggers…who needed to practice before we got comfortable. And to make it worse, there was NO MUSIC VARIETY AT ALL. For the 2+ hours we were there, they played only late 70’s disco. PERIOD. Nothing modern, nothing from any other decade or era. And that was it. We even requested anything 80’s pop for the bride to be, and they wouldn’t play it.
Apparently, according to the staff, if they play other music the «regulars,» complain.
So, as much as we had our own good time, taking pictures of ourselves, and watching the regulars – we didn’t have a good time on the rink, and the limo ride was not worth it.
If you want to have a night out with friends and you are under 40, this might not be the place. ESPECIALLY if you have to come from the city.

Looking for a time warp? No better place for that than a roller rink in the middle of nowhere Staten Island! Surpringly, we had a great time when a couple of friends and I decided to make the random trek from queens. It was nothing like we expected. We got there around 10 on Saturday night to find the music pumping and people wiz zing by on decked out skates (think like how Asians pimp out their Honda civics, but rollerskates).
If you are a beginner, you better not be intimidated easily because the chicks in booty shorts and long hair (who btw, are in their 50s) and the guys hoisting them in the air to do lifts might freak you out a bit. Everyone is really friendly though. My friends all had a few wipeouts and it was like lightning when random people would stop to help them up.
The music ranged from current pop to disco, and they even threw in a few slow jams from the 90s which totally made my night. If you are looking for some good clean fun and a change of scenery, try this out. It will definitely be something to remember!

Very few rollerskating rinks in the NY area. The great disadvantage of this rink is for the fact that it’s located in Staten Island which might as well be Abu Dhabi. Staten Island is like an urban myth. You’ve heard of it, you’ve never been, never seen it or met anyone from there. Once I googled mapped the address I realized coming from the Bronx I’d be driving 40 miles, crossing 2 bridges (George Washington and Goethals) and driving down the New Jersey Turnpike to come back to NYC to visit this mysterious place known as Staten Island. To add insult to injury, Roller Jam is located at the MOST southern tip of Staten Island (Tottenville).
Once I arrived, I was unimpressed by RollerJam’s décor, however, as consolation there is a bar for those who like to booze it down. Entry fee $ 11.50 + skate rental.
The music is decent, it wasn’t super crowded for a Saturday. All in all, I will say it’s what you make of your evening.
Would I visit again? Only if Jesus was throwing a party

I’m a sucker for a roller skating rink and had heard about this place well before I’d even moved to New York, so I went out of my way on a Saturday night to check it out.
The really bad news about this place is that it’s awful to get to, unless you already happen to live out in BFE Staten Island. If you live in any of the other boroughs and don’t have a car, this place might as well be on the moon. I’m pretty sure this is the only traditional roller rink left in New York City though, so it’s really too bad there isn’t one in a better location for everyone else.
The full serve bar is probably this place’s most unique and interesting feature… not sure if there’s any other skating rink in the country that combines these two pastimes, but what the hell. Pound a Red Bull and vodka and almost anything becomes more entertaining. Kind of high on price though at $ 8 + tip. Also was some eye candy here, which is also not typical for a skating rink.
Other than that the skating was weak. Wheels on the rental skates had no grip at all; several times my left foot nearly slid right out from under me while going around the corner, and the guys behind the counter made up some BS about not being allowed to tighten the trucks on the rental skates, which were super loose. The floor itself is tiny by most roller rink standards. Overall for $ 16 bucks admission and skate rental I thought it borderlined on overpriced. They also make you sign a legalese waiver a mile long and then some dude gives you the 3^rd degree with a metal detector… gave me the impression this might not be the friendliest place to hang out at on the wrong night, so no extra points for that.
I thought the music selection was a little lame too. I’m mean do we really need to hear «Ice Ice Baby» and a bunch of other old shit on Saturday night? Part of the fun of a roller rink is getting your groove on to the latest jams at full blast, so this could have been better.
I’m glad roller skating isn’t completely dead (yet), and that this place exists, but i’ll probably have to go on for now without this fun activity until someone opens a better place that doesn’t take 2 hours to get to. I’m not going out of my way to come here again though.
