Tanning Loft of Dongan Hills

I’m actually fine with it because the prices are so damn cheap. Like crazy cheap. I paid 5 dollars for a six month membership and it only costs 2 bucks for the base bed which had nice strong bulbs for a base bed. Maybe because I moved from LI where its like 75 dollars for a basic package but Ive been really happy. Its not fancy itself but the beds are nice and the girl behind the counter with the short hair is so super sweet and not attitudy like other places which is a major turn off.

This place is GROSS. Noticeable grime in beds and rooms. Ive got ring worm, twice. Lazy, nasty, unprofessional, unmotivated, badly dressed staff. No one wants to be there, they just sit around and eat food at the front desk and talk on there cell phones. How professional. This place offers great beds at great prices. The staff is just so awful and lazy. Once you go to beach bum, you won’t mind paying a little extra.

Pricing is extremely weird says $ 5 unlimited then paid an additional $ 10 for the use of a basic standup; and each visit requires you to tap into your wallet between $ 8-​$ 14 at a time. Salon was small and outdated; doesn’t look clean. In Room 5 standup found dirty gauze with what appeared to be dry blood on it clearly visible if the room was cleaned after each use; dirty band aid on the opposite side again clearly visible. The bed was old and appeared to be worn out. I used to tan at beach bum but since it was a bit pricey I chose to try another salon. After this experience I will return to beach bum and pay more for the security of cleanliness. I’ve been too many beach bum locations and never have I ever seen a room as filthy as the one in the Tanning Loft Dongan Hills location. Extremely disappointed to say the least!

This place deserves 4 stars but I cannot give it because I am confident I contracted a skin fungus from the poor cleaning of these machines.
BUT…
The cheapest tanning I’ve ever seen, a wide variety of machines, never a wait more than 5 minutes, and long hours for people who work (open until 12 most days).
The girls behind the desk aren’t very friendly but you talk to them all of 2 minutes just to get to your machine so that doesn’t really bother me.
However, the girls do not clean the machines very well so you need to be careful.
