Joe was terrific from beginning to the end of the process. His communication was top notch and he did everything he could to assist us after my father passed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tudor Funeral home to anyone in their time of need.

When my mother died suddenly, I had to find a funeral home quickly and not being from New York I started going down a list of funeral homes. I selected Tudor based on a wonderfully helpful conversation with Joe. He was not only nice and helpful, but he was very knowledgeable about rules regarding shipping remains overseas. And the price for cremation was also the best I found in New York. Joe handled everything regarding cremation and shipping and dealing with him was easy, primarily by texting, including billing.
While I was overseas burying my mother, my father died and I immediately contacted Joe to handle the collection of the remains from the coroner’s and proceed with cremation.
He again proved to be dependable and helpful, which really meant a lot to me given my circumstances.
The only issue I had with Joe is that i had to wait quite a long time for the death certificates both times. He was really trying to be responsive but as he mentioned, he had family issues and having to handle all the funeral business made him late with the follow up paperwork.

My family needed a place to hold a wake for my grandfather. We heard about Tudor funeral home and it seemed like a great place. When we went there we realized it was even better then we thought. It was nice and cozy and the owner was very kind. The owner runs the funeral home and does a lot but he has a few other people who help him that are all very kind. They help and you can see your loved one whenever you want.

I wanted this review to be great because I liked Joe when we talked initially — I called and talked to Joe about 3 weeks ago to arrange my cremation. He was supposed to stop by my office 2 weeks ago on a Friday, never called to cancel, never came!
I called him and he said he «had an emergency and would come next week». Never heard back — E-​mailed him through Unilocal 2 nights ago and nothing.
I am sure death business is busy but I do not run after people to give them business (Over my dead body!) and I like people who do what they say… so I found another funeral home. Disappointing because our first conversation was pleasant and I wanted to take care of this ASAP — Maybe it is just because it was just $ 500.00?

By me living in Virginia, Joe helped me out with the whole process of the cremation procedures. I would recommend Tudor Funeral Home to all my friends and family in the NYC area. They are the best.

Joe and Lisa of the Tudor Funeral Home are truly outstanding. I was notified that my uncle had passed away in the nursing home. The nursing home wanted me to hurry up and remove my uncle. I had no idea what to do. I contacted Joe and Lisa and they assured me that they would handle everything. They really outdid themselves in my case. They comforted me and calmed me down. I was so overwhelmed by my uncle’s passing that I could barely speak. Joe and Lisa took away all my fears. They are so compassionate, caring, concerned and knowledgeable. I can never say enough good things about them. Thank you so much Joe and Lisa. I am forever in your dept. God bless you both for providing so much comfort to my family and I in our hour of need!

My mother-​in-​law recently passed and I needed to find a funeral home in Staten Island quickly. I checked Unilocal and called a bunch of places and settled on Tudor. For one thing, he answered the phone right away, gave me clear, concise answers to my questions and filled me in on things I wouldn’t have known to ask about on my own including how to file paperwork, what documents are required etc… As the days went on, one thing that stayed true was that Joe ALWAYS ANSWERS HIS PHONE and when you are in the middle of a family crisis and a big loss, it is extremely comforting to get answers right away. I have to say the one bright light in an otherwise difficult situation was dealing with Joe at Tudor. He is a real prince — informative, sensitive without being overly sappy like some other places were, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Tudor.

My mother wanted to be cremated after she died in New York City in April 2014.
I made a number of calls, and Tudor Funeral Home gave me the best price, absolutely! Only a third or even less of the price that other establishments wanted. «Joe» was great to work with. Questions answered quickly. Paperwork was as easy as it could be!

Wonderful owner’s they work with u and do a wonderful Job!!! A family friend past away last Monday and the viewing was on Friday and they did should a wonderful job !! My friends husband looked great !! Looked at he was just sleeping peacefully! !!!÷ god bless RIP SAL! XOXO

When recently faced with the passing of my father, I was referred to Tudor Funeral Home. Upon my first communication with Joe and Lisa, I felt at ease in knowing everything would be taken care of. They were very personable and provided support and guidance throughout the entire process. Joe and Lisa made a very difficult situation easier. I can’t thank them enough.
