Ok… where do I start. The manager is awesome and when he actually makes the pies they are phenomenal. However, when someone else there made the pies it just wasn’t the same. This place is in a rough area, so I would consider it a hidden gem. It is a farther drive for us, so we stopped getting it routinely. Customer service is great here. My recommendation… make larger pies, have only Stephen make them or have him better train the staff on how to make them properly.

We arrived on a Saturday nite and the place was packed. They were catering a party in the next room. We did not have a reservation. They told us it would only be a few minutes and said we could wait by the bar. So after 2o minutes i asked a guy who happened to be the owner if it would be soon because I had to go to work the next day and he yelled«I have to go to work too» like as if I was bothering him! We sat down at a table and we had to wait quite a while for anyone to take our order. We ordered a caesar salad which was extremely over dressed. Tons of dressing. We also ordered the grilled meatballs which were burnt when we got them with very little marinara sauce.(WEKNOWTHISBECAUSEWHENWEUSETOCOMEWHENSTEVEHADTHEUPPERCRUSTRESTAURANTSEPERATEFROMELMPARK.) THEHELPIS A BUNCHOFROUGHGUMBAS. THETYPEOFPEOPLEYOUWOULDFINDONMOBWIVES. So the waitress offered to remake the grilled meatballs but brought over to the owner and he told her not to. She came back to the table and said that they would not remake them that they would just deduct it from the bill. At this point I was so annoyed. Finally the pizza arrived. I was dying for pizza all week. This was a horrible experience and Im sure I could find another pizza joint in Staten Italy.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for the longest, but was kinda skeptical because the Unilocal reviews look kinda sketchy, but finally came one day with the fiancée and close friends. This spot seems like a place only the locals know about. We came on a Friday night and it wasn’t packed at all. Our server was really friendly. I was really impressed with the pizza here. They served thin crispy crust pizza, which is my fav, and how all pizza should be. Not like those so call pizza they serve at costco or dominos. Those so call pizza is only good when you’re drunk or hungover. Anyway, I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for good local pizza.

Our first stop on Rob’s Quest for the Perfect NYC Pizza brought us to Upper Crust on Staten Island. Having grown up in SI and Brooklyn I wanted to go with what I knew, Denino’s but Unilocal reviews from Staten Islanders raved about this place so we took a chance. Underwhelmed. The Pizza was small, super thin crust, not alot of flavor. The Chicken Pesto Pizza was Dry. The Sausage was better, but just eh. The waitstaff was very nice and pleasant. But very confused and chaotic. 4 people offered to bring us water when they saw we hadn’t any. Beer order came after the pizza was finished. Don’t go out of your way to this expensive option for Pizza.

VONGOLE VONGOLE Oops that’s the delicious clam pie I had ordered but I guess I just enjoyed the name as much as the pie! Crispy thin crust with melted mozzarella with clam and basil ! MAMMAAAMIAAA just enjoyed every bite and you be surprised how quick it goes because there 14 inch pies which is not that big when you see it. You won’t see the sign or place unless you know it’s exactly about the Elm Park Inn where there’s small windows and it says pizza! Parking is not the greatest because you have 2 restaurants on that strip that have valet and customers take up most of it but there’s a public parking lot across the street but the highway entrance and that’s the best choice to me. Especially in the snow and slush, how exciting. not! The main side entrance is on Hooker Place(lol) and walk up 2 flights of stairs, the floor below is the Elm Park Restaurant, but you see signs for it. The waitress was super sweet and nice and even introduced what the pizza and business is about and even made recommendations. The eating area is not that big there’s a couple of tables but I’m glad it was not packed at all and we could sit. There is a bar too! They offer your pizza in either fried or grilled which is different but so delicious. They offer all special pies with different flavors and meats and they all look good. They also have appetizers and specials. Had me the grilled meatballs in red sauce and ricotta and it was really good. I think everything grilled is so good! And this was, a nice 5 fried meatballs in some sauce and we are every bite! For dessert we had NUTELLAPIE! Omgahhhh mamma miaaaa! It was so freaking sweet and damn good, it was like zeppole dough with Nutella, strawberries, bananas and sweet sugar! This is MUSTHAVEMUSTTRY& every girls happy ending :) haha! Prices are wallet friendly they accept cash or credit and I will back and I enjoyed the workers and managers, they make you feel very welcomed and there food is so worth it! UPPERHIGHFIVETOUPPERCRUST!

First, I’m a totally big Italian Pizza’s fan … Honestly, It was the most perfect Pizza tavern in Staten Island I ever visit, I bet no one going to eat from this Pizza restaurants and forget about it. What can I say, I really have enjoyed by my dinner, In fact I keep talking about it to my buddy and I will keep thinking about it. All The ingredients and preparation was awesome, if you try any recipe of Pizza you will figure out that you are in paradise, personally I prefers the Calamari pie, Vodka pie, Margaret pie and Nutella pie. Those types are my favorites, also the price was good for my wallet ;) What’s give the place a comfortable atmosphere not just a good and delicious food, but also the good serves, the friendly staff«specially Karen the dining room’s Manage and Steve the nice Manager«, the stylish design, the relaxing seats and this welcoming Italian family. I love this family. Since I came to this town from couple of weeks I heard a lot of people taking about Upper Crust’s Pizza, so I decided to going and figure out the place, and I didn’t disappointed. All of all, thanks to this Italian family, you are awesome. I’ll back again soon …

My wife and I have wanted to try Upper Crust for awhile and we were not disappointed. This unassuming spot on the second floor of Elm Park Inn is what makes mom and pop restaurants special. You could taste the care and freshness in everything that came out of the kitchen. The décor and service are no where close to being fancy but the dining room is very clean and service is warm, efficient, and welcoming. We started with grilled meatballs which arrived with a very well balanced marinara sauce and fresh ricotta. The balls had a nice char on the outside while still being moist and tasty inside. On our servers recommendation we had the spinach and artichoke pie and it was excellent. The owner stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking. From speaking with him you could tell he takes a lot of pride in his place. After having pizza at DiFara and Lucali I would say Upper Crust ranks very closely. I hope the place does well and people come to realize what a gem Staten Island now has.

Everything I have ever eaten in this place is absolutely delicious. Once you taste the Vodka pie you will daydream about it. The meatballs taste just like they should. Coming from an Italian family I feel comfortable saying the recipe is flawless! The fried calamari is the best on Staten Island! Try the Nutella pie because it is the perfect dessert. The sangria was killer!!! The staff is so friendly and this place will not let you down! We will keep going back again and again!

Great artisanal pizza in a wide range of toppings. If you like thin, crispy pizza made with quality ingredients, try the Upper Crust! The owners were very friendly and accomodating. The casatellas for dessert were so good I haven’t stopped thinking about them. Will definitely be back.

We have ordered from the bar downstairs at EPI. Delicious pie! Get the clam pie and ask for it with red sauce. I think it’s second only to Deninos on Staten Island!

Fantastic. Ate here last night and as my husband said… «Well Staten Island, you have a new contender for best pizza.» Seriously delicious, thin crust, well done, super crispy. We had the sweet sausage– can’t wait to try everything else. They also offer whole wheat crust! Definitely give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Went here today for first time. Pizza was delicious, service terrific, very high quality ingredients for such a reasonably priced pizza. Everything was fresh and the couple who run it are the best. Try it and you will definitely want to go back again like me.

Coming to UC, made it a pleasure to jump on here and leave a review. Very chill place, Steve brings such great charm to be around and definitely nailed the simple, yet unbelievable taste of what come from the kitchen. Sweet sausage pie will def have you racing from work wanting it the next day. Not sure what to order? Just look at the table next to you and everyone will be pushing their favorites on you. Havent seen or tasted a pie done this way, anywhere close to how they have. Paul
