Westerleigh Park

This park is a neighborhood gem thanks to the Friends of Westerleigh Park group of volunteers that take care of this park year round. Before this group headed by Denise, took charge, it was a disaster and completely neglected by the city. Volunteers meet Saturday mornings to fix up the park as needed. If you love it like I do, show up and meet your neighbors. Pitch in and take pride in the park that has been the meeting place for generations. Also enjoy the concerts, activities and celebrations year round.

This is a hidden gem. a little oasis in the middle of westerleigh, nice environment. quite. and a great place to relax & enjoy the breeze on a nice summer day! Make sure you follow their few events. I was there to enjoy Movies in the park one time and it was all great crowd & great night!

Wonderful little respite in the heart of Westerleigh! Big trees, green grass, squirrels, birds — you’d never think you were in New York City. Plenty of benches to sit on and enjoy the serenity.
I have always loved this wonderful little park. In the summer there are lots of fun activities almost weekly, usually involving music. During the other seasons events are held as well, though not as frequently.

In the Summer time!!!

Victory Blvd was a parking lot. I was tired, and decided to make a run to Forest Ave for cookies, espresso and hopefully less traffic.
After couple of wrong turns, I found myself in a city-​block-​sized heaven. Quiet park, with tallest trees I’ve seen on the island. Benches to sit on, grass to play on, shade of the trees comforting and welcoming in heat of summer. Well taken care of, perfectly blue hydrangea was blooming in the corner.
