I was right! Totally an off night the first time we were there. Went in this afternoon for lunch with a friend that was visiting from out of town. We split pretzels with beer cheese and medium(which ended up being huge!) house special pizza. The pizza had tons of toppings(green pepper, onion, mushroom, olive, pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon) and came out pretty quickly. The beer cheese was fantastic for the pretzels, and we used whatever we had left to dip our crust in– highly recommend doing that. Total came out to be around 28 bucks. Great deal for two people and 3 large slices came home in a to-go box. I also want to mention the excellent service. Our server(I think her name was Darcy?) was extremely welcoming and didn’t miss a beat. Our drinks were filled multiple times and she was very accommodating to our table with a 10 month old baby. Glad I gave them a second chance, it was definitely worth it!

This place was awesome! First time there. My wife and I are vegetarian and my daughter is a vegan. They had a lot of options for us. The food was really good and the service was good. Seemed a little pricy, but then again, we had 5 in are party and two glasses of wine. Definitely would go back and also recommend to others.

The plain cheese pizza is pretty darn good and a fair price. I prefer thin crust and this didn’t disappoint. I always prefer takeout here since this is a college town and Mellow Mushroom is quite geared toward the alcohol consumption(in my honest opinion). The food was good both times I got takeout, but the waitresses were rude, snippy, and unprofessional. Overall I gave this 4 stars because the wait is entirely too long for a thin cheese pizza, the takeout window is no longer operational(but you don’t know that upfront), and every waitress I have dealt with has needed a serious attitude adjustment!

Crappie service, can you believe no chicken wings? Really? No spinach dip and 20 minutes before we saw a waitress to get a beer. Maybe go to a different mellow mushroom

Stopped in here my first night in Statesboro & had a good experience. Carly, the bartender, was very friendly & knowledgeable about the local brews they had on tap. Calzone was good & cooked perfectly. Service was a little slower, but nothing to complain about.

This is a Mellow Mushroom — nothing more to say. Although, they have the absolute and undisputed best beer selection in Statesboro. Plenty of craft ales and stouts.

I love Mellow Mushroom. It’s as good as it gets for Pizza outside of New York City. They have many different choices and appetizers. My favorite is the Bayou Bleu, but I’m a fan of any of their pizzas and calzones. They also have a terrific beer selection, although I was disappointed to find out they no longer participate in the«beer club». I visited recently on two different occasions; once solo at the bar, and once with my daughters. My bartender was«Princess Erin»; yes, I teased her a bit about this. She was very nice, attentive, and prompt. My server when I was with the kids was Sky. Also very sweet and attentive, even though they got busy due to a dance recital letting out(which she was aware of!). She was very sweet to my girls, a great server. Only thing I’ll say negative is they do need some new TV’s at the bar. I think there may have just been an ownership change, so hopefully they get to that, and get the beer club back.

Stayed the night last week in Statesboro and this location was close to my hotel so decided to stop by for a few drinks and some pizza. I frequent the mellow mushroom in Citrus Park Florida as my house is close by and love this and many of the other locations. But this location in Statesboro was a plain jane. No atmosphere as you would expect in a mellow mushroom and the food was sup par. I was very surprised by this. When I asked for a glass of sangria I was told that they did not have champagne and any sweet red wine I knew I was in trouble!!! Now at the location close to my house in Citrus park/Tampa they set the standard for atmosphere and their sangria!!! So I was not expecting it to be the same but some what close and not having that mellow mushroom atmosphere sorely disappointed in this location.

I think that since they got new management, the service has gone drastically down hill.

We enjoy the two Mellowroom’s in Augusta but the Statesboro one lacks customer service behind the bar and the beer was not cold at all. Wings were below average. Pizza a little off. Happy VDay!

Truthfully one of the better pizza joints I’ve gone to. They had a large craft beer selection, and the pizza was absolutely outstanding. I had the Blue Bayou, and the crust seasoning and topping were all on point!

The beer menu is very good here, but I’ve had mixed experiences with the food and down right bad service. Visitors should be forewarned that this is not NY-style pizza. It’s doughy. I’ve tried a few of their pizzas, all of which were good. My personal favorite is the Holy Shitake. The sandwiches, however, are lacking. I cannot recommend ordering the cheese steak. There’s not enough cheese or steak on the sandwich. Also, the $ 2 pizza slices, while thin-crusted, large and cheap, are just ok. The real reason for my 2 star review? Bad customer service. I ordered a large pizza for pick-up. The service was very very slow at the drive-up window, but that wasn’t the real offense. When I got home I discovered the entire pizza was burnt. Completely inedible. I called Mellow Mushroom and was told I could either come back(another 20 minutes of driving) or get a free pizza next time I came in. I was so annoyed by that point that I asked them just to honor the free pizza next time. They also said the manager would call to apologize. Did any of that happen? No. I never got a call and the next time I ordered a pizza they had no idea what I was talking about. I know you shouldn’t complain about not getting a free pizza, but I’m a little sore about paying ~$ 25 for an inedible burnt mess. Needless to say, we don’t order out from them any more. We’ve also had slow table service on occasion, but the last table service we had was particularly bad: the server was difficult to track down and after being absent for a prolonged period of time came back to our table reeking of cigarettes. It was very unappetizing and off-putting. I squirmed in my seat for fresh air.

On our way back home, we passed by Statesboro to drop off my brother back at college and decided to dine in at Mellow Mushroom for dinner. For appetizers, we ordered the 10 wings Thai Chili flavored which were small, but very flavorful. I also tried the BBQ and Jerk(other family member ordered it) and I have to say that Thai Chili was my favorite(it was a sweet sauce.) For the main course I shared a Build Your Own small pizza which was mozzarella cheese, green peppers, mushroom, and half Italian sausage. The pizza was great! The crust was crisp and the pizza was cheesy– just like how pizza should be. I rated it a 5 star instead of 4 because our server Chandler, was sweet, helpful and really knowledgeable about the menu! The service was great and everyone was friendly.

Set up like a regular MM, but service is super slack. Ordered a salad with chicken, and when I picked it up, there was no silver wear. Had to go back in and ask. I should have checked for dressing, because that didn’t make it in the bag either. Found out once I was back in the hotel, ad dost bother going back. With only three or four other tables, I would have hoped for more. I guess that’s why these kids go to Georgia Southern, not UGA.

Statesboro’s mellow mushroom is no exception from all other mellows out there: it’s really friggin’ delicious. My favorite pizza(the jerk chicken and pineapple pie) recently left the menu, but if you order it you’ll find the kitchen to be incredibly accommodating — they’ll make it for you anyway. The secret to mellow is the crust. It’s delicious. It was developed by a couple of students up at Georgia Tech, so it’s understandable why the franchise is so beloved throughout the state. Highly recommend you peruse their extensive beer selection and order some parmesan«pretzels» to go with your meal. They’re made from the pizza dough and are absolutely excellent. If you’re really up for an adventure, order some Esperanza dressing to dip your crust in. I’ve been unable to find any dressing like it anywhere else. It reminds me a bit of Caesar, and is an interesting twist on the classic red sauce dip.

I’m a huge Mellow Mushroom fan, I’ve eaten at them in several different states, including the original location in the 70’s. The restaurant was fairly empty but it was a Sunday night. We started with a new appetizer, not sure of the name but it came with a side of beer cheese. The beer cheese arrived with a hair in it, which we quickly pointed out to the waitress. She apologized immediately and in no time we had another order, hey accidents happen. We ordered the KOSMICKARMA pizza and the quality was as good as ever. Never disappointed at Mellow Mushroom.

Once again, delay of ten minutes or more for my glutten free pie. Everyone else had finished their meal by the time that I received my meal. The waitress was sweet, but the manager never came by and no deduction for either appetizer. I don’t get it. Cost is too high!

The fact that I’m not as big a fan of Pizza as most people is usually shocking for some reason. I do like it but only every so often and when I do want it I dont want Pizza Hut, Dominoes, or Papa Johns. I’ve had really good pizza in NYC and Phoenix and those chain restaurants just dont do it for me. Mellow Mushroom is one of the places obviously that I do enjoy obviously. As far as Mellow Mushroom’s go, this one is a little less funky than some I have been to. Not nearly as meany psychedelic paintings nor was there a major theme like some I have been to. None the less it was clean, had a friendly staff, and still felt like a Mellow Mushroom. When I go to any Mellow Mushroom I usually go with the Calzone because usually most people I have been with like the boring stuff like pepperoni or sausage. On this trip we tried a new one to us the«Maui Wowie», which is a Pesto base with ham, pineapple, jerk chicken, banana peppers, Applewood smoked bacon and mozzarella cheese. This pizza was awesome! Im not usually a fan of pineapple on my pizza but with the spicy jerk chicken and the smokiness of the bacon it was great. While not having had it at this location another pie I really enjoy is the Thai Dye. The Bayou Bleu will be the next one on the list. Needless to say this place is a chain but they do an excellent job of catering to their patrons and community and this location is no different. I have no real complaints and suggest you give it a shot.

I had a small pizza(though I only could finish a slice and a half) and tried a small sample of my friend’s chicken Parmesan hoagie. Both were quite good and very filling! The serving sizes are generous and the staff was very friendly with good service. I would definitely come back to try some of the other items on the menu.
