Stopped in here while walking and shopping in downtown. Had the chocolate flavored black tea iced. It was Yummy. Took a little time to get as it was freshly brewed.

Good coffee and a great atmosphere. Not much in the way of food though. Not really a place to get something for the kids — drink, pastry, etc.

Changed hands Jan 12015, so anything before that doesn’t apply. At all. Visiting today, no drip coffee, and frankly the attitude of the dude and dudette didn’t get me to buy a coffee. Not sure I have to pay them to be disappointed. Now, if you’re a 26 year old ski bum douchebag, I’m sure you’ll love it.

The third wave of coffee preparation has arrived in Steamboat. Enjoy! Choose a Hario siphon, a Chemex Colombian or a Yama Cold Brew Tower; whatever your preference you’ll be sure to find the caffeine fix your looking for. Comfortable surroundings, friendly staff and a great place to work, or write a novel.

I stopped in to get some coffee and kill some time reading, and Steaming Bean certainly worked. The service was friendly enough and plenty fast, and my americano was quite good. I do wish they’d had a wider selection of pastries when I stopped by, but it was mid-afternoon on a Thursday, so they were probably winding down for the day, and my chocolate-chocolate donut was perfectly fine.

Don’t bother, take an extra ten minutes and drive east on Lincoln to Starbucks. You will get better coffee and service. After breakfast at Winona’s(which was fantastic) I stopped by to get a decaf to go. Twenty minutes later I had a watery decaf Americano. They never bothered to tell me they did not have drip or do a pour over which takes about five to ten minutes. When I complained, the only response was the barista was working by himself. No consideration for customer’s time. There were numerous other people at various levels of frustration and drinks called with no pickup as customers left in frustration. This place gives«buy local» a bad name.

Weak coffee and frat boy conversations from the baristas. Not at all a 4 ½ star coffee house. We had two dark roast drip coffee that was terrible. I’ve had stronger and better coffee at gas stations. My daughter had a hot chocolate that took forever to make she said it was so so. While waiting for our drinks a customer came up to the counter and told one of the baristas that they shouldn’t treat customers so poorly. The barista dismissed the customer saying«I’m doing the best I can». A few minutes later the barista and some other gentleman started making fun of the customer, how he was dressed and the way he spoke. STILL waiting for the hot chocolate WITH my 9 year old daughter and this same barista starts talking about«boobs». We will never be back to this place. Customer service needs an overhaul and the coffee is WEAK!

Stopped in here to grab a quick breakfast and some coffee. Service was friendly and there seemed to be plenty of seating space. The coffee was delicious — I had the tuxedo mocha — and the food was decent. I had a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, which appeared to be made in-house. I’ll definitely come back.

Tasty coffee(Americano or bust) and exceptionally nice staff. They have a great patio area with water misters for hot days. Cuteness all the way around.

What a cute little place to go meet a friend, which is exactly what I did. The barista was super friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Delish on the Chai tea too!

Yummy homemade granola(served with milk or not-so-great, very sweet vanilla yogurt), fresh baked goods, and decent coffee. Didn’t have any espresso drinks so can’t comment on those. It was all good enough, but nothing great.

This review is for late-August 2012. We stopped here about 5 years ago on our way back to Colorado from a trip to Oregon. Similar experience this time, except this time, we stopped twice. We had one stop late in the afternoon of the day we arrived in Steamboat Springs. My husband ordered an espresso, which he rated as «very good». The next morning, we stopped in for an early breakfast(YES! they are open at 7AM!). A breakfast place that’s open before 8AM rates well with us. Good for«introverts», who think hell is «other people at breakfast», and for early-birders who like to enjoy the day before it gets too late. Anyway, sidebar. For breakfast, we ordered oatmeal, Nice and simple, with fresh blueberries. The nice thing about this was that it was NOT instant oatmeal — it was wonderful«old-fashioned» oatmeal, which means it was therefore not unrecognizable mush. And not huge portions either — what Goldilocks would truly term as «just right». For breakfast coffee, we shared a coffee press. We were especially impressed that the woman serving us took the time to freshly grind the roasted beans before putting them into the press with the hot water. Wonderful! The staff was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and especially helpful with directions to other businesses or places in Steamboat. Good service, good quality, and good environment. A++++.

Very nice breakfast experience, early in the morning before the booming extroverts come in and talk to anyone with ears. We had blueberry oatmeal, French press, steamed milk, blueberry muffin. I am a coffee geek and I got two bean choices. I choose the dark roast which tasted fine, but I’d go with a lighter roast next time. The barrista told me to wait 4 minutes before pressing the plunger. Correct! The day before I had a 25 second shot of espresso which was very tasty! Porcelain cup with saucer, yes! I also like the actual shop. Nice atmosphere

How, funny! I totally agree with Eliza M. regarding so few coffee shops in the downtown area of Steamboat. We had been strolling around downtown that morning and I was surprised I couldn’t find any. Ultimately I went into Winona’s to grab a coffee to go. It was after we left that my friend noticed the Steaming Bean so we headed in and I ordered a coffee for me and a hot chocolate for my friend. The barista was friendly, the coffee was decent, and my friend enjoyed the hot cocoa.

Being from San Francisco, I have a high demand for coffee, and coffee shops. This is a fantastic shop. There’s ample indoor seating, it’s quiet, the baristas are friendly(and cute), and — most importantly — the coffee is exceptionally well made. I ordered a vanilla breve — a latte made with half and half instead of weak sauce, I mean milk — and the barista ad never heard of it. However, she made it very well. There was no coffee bitterness, no burned flavor, and the breve and coffee were mixed well. It’s a simple coffee — no fancy design in the cream, which is a plus. Cream designs are silly and end up making part of the drink taste like warm cream. Ick. In terms of price, my large breve and my mom’s medium chai tea were about $ 9, which is a bit more pricey than Starbucks, but the coffee is substantially higher in quality. Also, for a touristy andaffluent area like Steamboat, $ 9 for two coffee is not unexpected. Actually, I expected them to be more like $ 11. Steaming Bean is in the English basement of some corner mall I forget the name of. It’s hard to see from the street, so look for the status photo that I uploaded, and you’ll be able to find Steaming Bean. Walk down the stairs(the statue is down the stairs), and the shop will be on your left. Be ready to enjoy a great cup of coffee.

We were in search of a coffee shop this morning before the NCAA Nordic races and decided to stop in… It was open and friendly, had comfy chairs, and an array of reading materials. I got a coffee(which was a surprising dark roast, I wish it had been a little less bitter and/or burnt tasting) and a croissant. The croissant was wonderfully delicious. The atmosphere was inviting and they have wi-fi! :) PS– steamboat, for a small little ski town, you have very few coffee shops? I was totally shocked! Not a bad thing, just noticing!
