This store has a great selection and has a nice balance of Household items and clothing. Everything is neatly displayed, which is amazing as the store is very full. It is somewhat cramped, but manageable. Don’t always buy something when I go, but it’s fun to just look around and see some of the. Items on display. Sometimes they have sales, particularly on holiday décor after the holiday.

The store is a nice size and has an ever-changing selection of merchandise. I have purchased items here and I have also donated items to the store. The prices are fair and proceeds benefit the humane society. Folks have to keep in mind that a thrift store is as good as its donations. So we try to donate our gently-used items periodically. The clerks are friendly and keep the store clean and organized. Visit this store and chances are, you’ll find something unique.

Cleanest, most organized thrift shop ever. They don’t sell crap either. Great that it benefits shelter; I make the trip here for that reason alone! Much better than the old one in Chicago Heights where no one would bother to lift a finger to help you or even hold the door open as you are unloading your car :(

Well, I went here today for the very first time. I actually went to donate several boxes and bags of household items & knick-knacks. I was told(by the people at SSHS) that you could just pull around back and unload your items by the back door, so that’s what I did. When I pulled in back by the door, there was a vagrant type of guy sitting on the ground drinking a can of beer. He was missing a few teeth, but he was a nice enough fellow, obviously, because I am able to type this review, he did not kill me and steal my car. I decided to then go inside and take a look around. I will say it was very clean and organized, however, the prices were ridiculous! Totally overpriced!!! I mean it was basically garage sale junk with full retail prices. I was shocked. I realize it’s for a great cause and all but come on, let’s not be greedy. You get the stuff for FREE… price it reasonably! You’d sell alot more. But I am totally down with the cause. I’ve donated to Amvets alot in the past, but I will go out of my way to take stuff to Second Chance. I just think they need someone in there that will price things accordingly!

I am an animal lover and thrift store shopper and I ALWAYS find at least one good item every time I shop at this store and they do not sell worn out junk. I also regularly donate to this shop and I only donate high quality items. It is very clean and organized and I agree that it has a nice mix of items for sale. I am grateful that this shop helps the homeless pets of South Suburban Humane Society.

I love this little resale shop. I always find something good. A lot of resale places are heavy on clothing… but this place always has some good furniture(limited space) and lots of good tschotskes. i’ve gotten TWO genuine laurel lamps there over the years. They are especially strong in nice kitchen ware and glasses, holiday décor, framed art and costumes… but as with any resale shop, it’s luck of the draw. easy parking, good hours(closed sunday) and best of all, it benefits homeless animals at the south suburban humane society shelter… so stop in, grab some bargains, and even if you don’t find anything on that trip, drop a buck in the box for homeless kits and pups!

I agree with the previous Unilocaler in regards to cleanliness and organization. I must say, however, that the selection of children’s clothing is terrible. Seriously, one rack holds infant, toddler, and children’s clothes. In my opinion this shop is on the kitschy side, and pricey(for a resale shop), but it’s for a good cause. Staff is nominal, not too helpful, however, not rude.

This store is very clean and extremely organized. It is on the small side and has a nice mix of offerings. The store does not seem to lean towards one specific thing, IE. clothes, or furniture, home goods etc. It has a little of everything. I always find something I need when I head in there. Proceeds go to the humane society.
