The bbq is good… actually very good. The sauce was good but maybe out of a bottle. Sides fair to not so good… disappointed that with with bbq so good they couldn’t do better with the bbq beans. taste like Campbell’s.

We got lunch here today to go — Pulled Brisket sandwich with a side of cole slaw, a dill pickle spear, a bag of Route 11 Habanero potato chips, and a bottle of cold water. There are tables to sit and eat in — but it was not very comfortable inside. It was a hot day and the AC does not appear to work to well inside this place. There were about 10 tables or so to sit at. The brisket was tasty and so damn tender! I ate the brisket straight off the bun and ignored the bun. Next time I’ll tell them to hold the bun. Food came up fast!

Yummy bbq one rainy night. Surprising for a gas station hole in the wall. Thanks fellow Unilocalers for the referral!

Ordered food for 15 people and every single person was talking about how good the BBQ was. The BBQ is amazing and reasonably priced! I can say the Brisket, Alabama chicken, Mac and cheese, and potato salad are all great!

We were a little hesitant pulling up to this place … but boy were we glad we went in. The staff are incredibly sweet, and the BBQ is delicious! The Alabama White Chicken is so good… I find myself craving it every few weeks. You can sit inside or take out. The dining area is quaint and has such a hometown feel. We ordered a large order for a get together, and they gave us everything we needed. Great spot!

Extremely good BBQ and wonderful potato salad. Not sure what they put in the potato salad(I think it might be ham and celery?) But it is fantastic. The brisket was wonderful too. I was just passing through but if I lived nearby I’d be a regular!

I was in Winchester, VA for a week and was told that Jordan Springs Market has the best(North Carolina) BBQ around town. The truth is they have the best food in town and the tricounty area. There are a few more menus items but basically there are three prominent BBQ sandwiches, Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket and Alabama Pulled Chicken. Sides include Baked Beans, Potato Salad and Coleslaw. The difference between a sandwich only or a meal(with a side, chips and a pickle) is two dollars($ 4.99 vs $ 6.99) and fills the tray. At that price you should choose the meal. I asked what the preferred sandwich was and apparently brisket is more popular but the pork sandwich is better and very moist. Same question for the sides were the baked beans with bacon. They were worth it but I would like to evaluate their coleslaw and potato salad. The service is very friendly and tailored. I never saw a line but several regulars so I can’t comment if you can make it out here for lunch. There is seating and as a gas station deli it is kind of impressive. Small but decent snacks, coffee and beer. It’s about 10 minutes from the interstate but worth the drive. I wish I had come here everyday I was in Winchester, VA.

Brisket sandwich with the Carolina BBQ sauce is amazing! Also, they surprised us with corn bread while eating lunch. Great customer service. Thank you!

Awesome meal for 6.99. My new favorite place for barbecue. Potato salad is homemade. Pickles are huge. Pretzel roll on the chicken was fresh and tasty. I ate everything. Now I have to lay down.

First time stopping in this quaint little dive. Specifically went there after seeing it on FB. It was so worth the 30 miles drive(one way). We are BBQ snobs. Hard to find a NC quality place in VA/WV. Well, not anymore. The old gas station style environment off the beaten path was so welcoming. They should charge just for the incredible authentic BBQ smell when you come in. Ahhhh! The smell of slow pit cooked and layers of seasonings was delightful. We tried the pulled pork and coveted beef brisket. Superb! Along with cole slaw and the best potato salad ever(shy of grandma’s, sorry gran). It was a generous helping of meat and sides. The meat was so tender, full of smoke rings and tasty sauces you add yourself. The prices were below what I anticipated to pay for such quality. Save room for a David’s Cookie. Moist, gooey, full of flavor. The real ice cream milkshakes are homemade too and what else needs to be said. I plan to use Jordan’s for any future catering event. And we’ll be back monthly now. Delicious! And the staff was super kind. You come in a stranger but leave as a friend. Ya’ll rock this BBQ gig.

After a full weekend of camping and mountain biking our group was starved for some good food to refuel on. A search on Unilocal popped this up and after we ate we were glad it did. Great food, big portions and friendly staff. As it was late afternoon on a Sunday, they were sold out of a few of their popular items like the ribs, but the Alabama pulled chicken hit the spot just right. Only thing that would have made it better would have been if it could have been accompanied by one of the cold beers from their fridge. Unfortunately their license only allows for carry out. Definitely worth a stop, can’t wait to pass by here again and try some other food.

Best brisket you’re going to find anywhere. The ribs are also very tasty. These are competition style ribs. The meat is tender and the bite is clean Folks are nice. The sauces are good too. You’ve got to try the white sauce. All in all they know what they’re doing.

With a near-perfect review on Unilocal,I had to try Jordan Springs Market for myself. The staff is super sweet. I learned that the cook is from Texas and man, the food looked and tasted like it! My hubby’s steak and cheese was 12″ long, came with chips, pickle, and coleslaw. I got a Memphis-style pulled pork sandwich with chips, pickle, and potato salad. The price was more than reasonable, I mean, we came down here to go to Texas Roadhouse, but in hindsight, I realized how much of a sucker I would have been to wait over 2 hours to be seated when this little gem only 2 miles away. We also learned a tip about ordering. Since it’s so expensive to keep every menu item on hand, basically, if you know you’re going there to eat on a Sunday, call them Tuesday or Wednesday with your order and they will have it cooked up to order when you come in. We were only able to order what they had on hand. Very different from what I’m used to, but it was definitely quality food and delicious! We left happy, full, and impressed!

I was driving up I-81 from Charlottesville and was in the mood for some Barbecue close enough to the interstate. I saw this place pop up a mile or two away, and as we pulled into the gas station I knew I was either in for something horrifying or something special. But as soon as my mouth touched that beautiful beef brisket sandwich, I knew in my heart that I made the right choice. The meat, the sauce, everything. This place is really special. I knew I was going to find some great BBQ along the way, but this… this is really amazing. If you’re driving through Appalachia, make a detour through here. Trust me.

We made a pit stop here on Sunday and I’m so glad that we did! Great barbecue(yey! Ribs!), great people, and the cutest little beagle out front waiting for her owner, who helps out inside. We will likely reroute to go past this Market again!

An excellent Unilocal! If I drove past the place I’d never have noticed they serve barbecue. It’s a typical gas station and convenience store kind of off the beaten track but not far from route 11. The beef brisket sandwich was tasty with the sauce offered and the beef itself was tender and moist. The price for the meal was great. I couldn’t tell if the beef was fresh and cooked on site. I did hear that the mushrooms were from a can. I’ll reserve the last star for local and fresh sources for which I wouldn’t mind paying a little more. Follow up: Olivia, owner of Jordan Springs Market, was kind enough to send me a thank you message and explanation that her husband does do the smoking on site. Pardon my oversight. She also explained that local produce(including from their own farm) is used when in season. I’ll definitely be back to try some other menu items. Ribs and chicken are sounding good!

Great hidden spot for BBQ! Definitely coming back for more! The service was great, very friendly and since it was my first time there, they offered a sample of their meats so I tried the brisket, very tender and the sauce gave it the finishing touch. I ordered the pulled pork meal and it was bomb!

This is the best find for BBQ and kind people we have had from Unilocal.I called early superbowel Sunday, only to hear singing and fun and«no problem mam» what can we get for you. There ribs, pulled pork and chicken were devoured that evening and I’m off to get more of the above plus smoked Mac and cheese. This is a gold star in the Y of the road. Please try it’s well worth the the trip
