Most of the produce is rotten. I also bought an aloe vera drink that had the price tag covering the past due expiration date. Based on those experiences, I don’t think I would take the chance on buying meat here because who knows if it is safe to eat.

A great place to get veggies and meat and spices and well almost everything! It is quite crowded inside but worth the wading through the tiny packed aisles for. The produce is mostly very fresh. I bought a giant sized bundle of kale that was very crisp and good. For some reason, the spinach was wilted. All fruits I bought were at that perfect ripe but not too rope point. Everything was priced at our below the normal chain store prices. The meats were priced about the same but the difference in quality was a lot better! Even the lower priced cuts were all quite tender. I will never buy spices anywhere else. The bulk containers were a fraction of the price at Meijer. I also bought a container of flaxseed that was about half what i paid at Meijer. In conclusion, it is tiny, crowded, dimly lit, but well worth the trip. I will be coming here a lot.

I go here often. Nice meats and sell a lot of lunch meat so it is always fresh. Always have liked their fresh meats too. The produce is nasty. Be careful what you buy! Much of it is old. But I often can get a great deal on something they brought back from Market that is fresh and good quality. But most of my fresh produce does not come from here. Seems most of the employees are non-American speaking. The parking lot is a mess. Be careful you don’t get hit while walking through it! Crammed in!

This place recently had a face lift so I decided to visit it again. I wish that its internals had been improved instead. Organics are still woefully poorly represented(why are you, a produce store, being bested by the Kroger produce department?). Veggies and fruit can still be superannuated. I was looking for just a few things(cara cara oranges, which were absent, among them) but left groceryless and completely disappointed.

Great spot for getting a lot of great deli meats, cheese, and other goodies. They have like 6 kinds of salami, and a few prosciutto so right their you know their spread is good. Way more selection then I see in any major grocery store, including your mainstream names like Butterball and Boar’s Head. This is where my family gets all it’s deli meats. I come here extensively for the olive bar. I get totally wrecked on the olive bar.

Overall I like shopping at Agrusa for my produce. They often have some great deals(I recently got a box of ~30 yellow bell peppers for $ 4), which can make the trip worthwhile. The quality of the produce can be hit or miss, depending on what they brought in from the market that day. So if you keep this in mind, shop their often and use the produce quickly and enjoy the great savings over the larger supermarkets.

This is a great place to get very reasonably priced vegetables and fruit. We buy so many of our grocery stores here, and even though there are many grocery stores we could visit on the way there, we keep going til we hit Agrusa. There is a great selection of everything from Okra to Papaya to dried nuts, teas, pastas, and more. Pay attention to the fruit, some of it is so ripe that it should not be on the floor any more. Speaking of the floor — it’s very messy, so don’t wear nice shoes there. This seems to be a family owned and operated business and I appreciate it. I don’t purchase things like salad dressings or dairy products from here, but almost every vegetable in this house comes from Agrusa, regardless of the season. Very trustworthy and worth the drive.

Agrusa is good for buying certain items if you’re in the neighborhood. I would never make a special trip here. I like to buy certain items here like olives, certain deli meats and cheeses, and middle eastern items. I find the produce is often about to go completely bad or already has gone bad… I did buy strawberries here once, and had to discard them the next day. I would not recommend buying produce here, but for deli items, they are okay. I like buying large amounts of feta cheese here when I make pasta salads. You will find a decent selection of olive oil, olives, and other pickled vegetables as well.

This place could be so cool if one of the owners had a little money to fix it up. Think a C– average Nino Salvaggio’s. The idea is there, but not executed very well. I definitely noticed mold on the strawberries and blueberries that were discounted. I understand a little mold when it’s on sale. but some was just covered and it was disgusting. As previous commenters have said, this place is great for RIPE items, as in you are going to use them that day or maybe the next. Major points: the ripeness makes produce CHEAP. I’ve gotten lots of items here for farmers market(and less) pricing. And ripeness is great when making baby food like I have been lately. The bread selection is small, but has local loaves that look delicious. The international section is also small, but laid out nice. Everything was label out and organized. And the olive oil… holy oil! I didn’t know there were so many different kinds. I had fun learning the differences. Major negative: They carry Ed Hardy wine. Who shops here?! I wouldn’t think Ed Hardy fans would… but whatevs. For cheap, ripe produce, this is the perfect neighborhood spot. If you’re not right in Troy or Sterling Heights though, I wouldn’t go out of your way. P. S. Why is this place called Agrusa Ranch? I never knew what it even was until a month ago! Horrible name for a produce market.

We’ve driven by a few times and thought about stopping, but it’s really just a bit outside our regular shopping area… but we had just eaten dinner next door at Joe Bologna Trattoria( ) and had a few minutes to spare before we had to be somewhere so thought we’d take a quick look around. Well, I was barely in the door when I grabbed 99c blueberries. It was a special, however, and the pricing of the other fruits and veggies wasn’t quite as awesome, though there were some good deals to be had – and the selection looked quite nice. We also grabbed some cheap bananas. It’s one of those little stores where they have such an unusual selection that you want to stop and look at everything… but we were in a bit of a hurry so I didn’t get to check out the meat counter or some of the internal aisles. So before I knew it, my husband was shepherding me to the checkout. I took our son while he paid… and the cashier in the next line asked if he wanted a sticker – of course!! – and my son actually said Thank You. Or not. But it sure sounded like it to both of us, because we both looked at each other in the same instant like«Did you just hear what I heard?» Sure, it was more like«tak oo» but we heard it. All the while my husband was kind of stressing because they apparently have a $ 5 minimum for credit card charges, and we only had spent like $ 3 and he only had a buck on him… so the cashier was really nice and took pity on us and let the charge go through. So, an A+ for customer service. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in the area!

This whole review can be summed up in 2 words: cheap veggies ! For those who live in the Sterling Heights/Troy area this is a stellar place to get your vegetable shopping on. The produce is fresh. and the prices are great. I started shopping here about a year or so ago and I can definitely tell you that u save mucho dinero on vegetables when compared to Kroger/Meijer/WalMart. They also carry a wide variety Mediterranean foods, a nice wine selection and a full service deli/meat section. cons: the quality of the chicken. I mean this is just personal preference I guess but I have noticed that the chicken from here when cooked is just not the same as what you get at Costco/Kroger. It tastes different to me. So if that doesn’t bother you, you should be golden !
