Would be 5 stars if they didn’t offer me more lemons and didn’t charge me $ 5 per lemon I offered to bring in my own lemons but they wouldn’t let me.

Angelo’s is one of my favorite places to visit when I’m home to see my parents. The food is phenomenal! Pasta crocks, regular pizza, spaghetti pizza, mac n’ cheese pizza — you can’t go wrong! While the food alone deserves a 5/5, the service is sub par at best. I typically prefer to do carry-out so I don’t have to deal with the waitstaff.

Chicago pizza sucks compared to Angelo’s. Glad to come home to my hometown favorite every month.

By far my favorite place in the world for pizza. The special is the only way to go for me, but I know a lot of people love the spaghetti pizza. Their Italian hamburger is another favorite of mine but I would suggest getting the sauce on the side unless you want to eat it with a fork. Get an order of bread to go, it makes the best French toast ever.

Visiting Illinois from California. While here I had the best pizza at Angelo’s! Had the spaghetti, Spagetti pizza, sausage pizza, taco pizza and chicken bacon ranch pizza. Three days in a row of eating here was barely enough. Best pizza I’ve ever eaten. If they opened up a restaurant back in Los Angeles I would go weekly!

Pretty good. Spaghetti pizza amazing. And the Piña colada smoothies delicious. I come here all the time; it’s always the same, no variance in taste.

Yes, the Spaghetti Pizza is good(not great), but it’s appeal lies in uniquity. Where else have you even heard of a Spaghetti Pizza? Fortunately it’s not the reason why I continue to back time and time again. The Italian hamburger is my favorite meal in the whole world. The bread that it sits on is unlike anything I’ve ever had. Occasionally we’ll order a couple loaves of bread and make our own garlic bread at home, or put on some American cheese and warm it up in the microwave. Their regular thin crust pizza is towards the top of my list and living in Chicago I have my pick of great pizza. If you want a little variety, go there on Saturday for the pizza buffet or Sunday for the pasta buffet. Been going there for years whenever I visit relatives in Sterling/Rock Falls and felt it was time to write a reviews. Writing this review has my taste buds going, can’t wait for the next time.

I Unilocaled, I came, I had some Spaghetti pizza! For a small town, this place is huge!!! I’m pretty sure the entire town was there upon arriving with my wife and kids. The Setup: 1:30 on a Sunday. I Unilocaled and they came up the winner. Everyone seemed to say this was the best, been going for years, have to try the spaghetti pizza… The Place: This place is huge and Heavily decorated. I was impressed at their size since my home town is way larger and I’m not sure could support a local biz this big. The Service: This is down home style, the server partly sat at our table while taking the order and was very friendly! Made you feel very welcome. Refills were abundant and overall they were very attentive. The Food: For an app we had Garlic bread with cheese. This was a nice and crispy garlic bread with just the right amount of cheese! I give it a 9! Currently only Home Run Inn Pizza has a better one that I can think of and they are no where near here. Spaghetti Pizza: Everyone seems to swear by this… It is a basic spaghetti and basic sauce on a basic pizza dough. It is HUGE(read Really heavy) Due to the overall ingredient list the crust is doughy out of the oven, I liked the flavor of the crust and I like doughy pizza sometimes, but some folks might not. Ultimately I would pass next time, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special besides being a Spaghetti Pizza to begin with. My kids did not like it(5&6) and did not finish. I will say the sausage was very tasty, but it could have a used a bit more. I’ll go with a 5 on this one. Looking at the menu there are quite a few other choices that seem good. While we were there we saw a baked pasta dish that looked awesome! I also hear the Lasagna is great! Value: Although I did not go the value route(I take that back, I think I paid only about a buck a pound on the pizza), the menu is full of them. $ 1.99 Margaritas on certain days, kids salad bar and meals are very inexpensive and many other dishes are very reasonable! I’m on a 4 star rating because this was a nice place doing a very impressive business. I think they have 3 locations as well so I can only respect that. The staff was friendly and the food seemed pretty good over all! If I’m in town, I will certainly stop back in to try some other items!

I love Angelo’s for the following reasons — meat sauce, awesome fucking bread, ravioli and lasagna. Most of my life we went there every other week for the buffet. Oh how I miss that buffet. Always getting a to go order that included a couple loaves of their amazing bread — I’ve literally never seen any other like it — and a vat of meat sauce. The flavor profile of that sauce is as perfect as it is impossible to recreate.

My favorite pizza by far. but first, let’s talk spaghetti pizza. Truly an original. All this talk about deep dish pizza in Chicago and no one has come up with a Spaghetti pizza yet? For shame. Drive 2 hours west and find our how it’s done. Granted I grew up in this town, so I might be biased, but have introduced many people to it and they are all fans. Now back to my favorite pizza. I love spaghetti pizza, don’t get me wrong, but for the best all around pizza, order the Special. Thin crust with sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes. The exact right toppings as far as I’m concerned. The thin crust is this delicious dough that is unlike every pizza place in Chicagoland I have tried. Lots of sauce, and generous with the toppings… pizza doesn’t get any better. Oh, and for a great side, ask for the loaf of bread and cup of sauce for dipping

I get cravings for Spaghetti and Mac n’ Cheese pizza constantly. The Spaghetti bread is gooey in the perfect amount. I remember the margaritas being pretty good too. The service can be pretty hit or miss though; I mean, it’s Sterling. Consider expanding to Chicago, plz.

Ohh Angelo’s. obviously another place I don’t get to visit as much as I’d like to living 13 hours away. But when we DO go to Illinois this is a MUST! We usually stop by the local grocery store and stock up on the sauce too before we leave. Maybe it’s the nostalgia of going here when I was young and always hoping to get the corner booth in the dim lit, smokey atmosphere. It reminded me of Goodfellas. I digress. Food is amazing, my cousin finally got me to try the mac n cheese pizza –WOW yum! Now it’s updated and a fun spot for large groups/intimate dinners/Sunday after church meals/whatever! The past few times I’ve gotten the lunch buffet –I can’t decide on just ONE meal, so I sample :)

This pizza place was a staple of my mothers growing up. Although I only get to have it about once a year, it is my most favorite pizza ever! I don’t stray too far from the pizzas because I try to fill up on it as much as possible while I am visiting. The lunch buffet is a must have because you can get a bunch for really cheap. Try to get it when they first put it out though, it is not as good warm.(oddly is it great cold the next day) I like the interesting pizza toppings. the mexican pizza and spaghetti pizza are my favs by far. The one I eat the most of is just plain sausage. Sausage on pizza is done way different here than in CA. It is so good I have been known to take a couple frozen ones back when I return home.

Great pizza especially their spaghetti pizza and their mac and cheese pizza. Sometimes getting the bill takes some time and you sometimes have to wait a long time at the drive thur pick up. That is the reason I gave a 4 instead of a five.

I understand the fascination for this place and imagine it is rooted in this restaurant being a staple for many growing up in the area. Therefore the love for Angelo’s is probably linked to fond memories and not food quality. As an outsider without such sentimental ties I can objectively say that the food is barely passable. The garlic bread was obviously frozen and simply put in the oven. The bruschetta was unpalatable as a result of immense amount of salt used in its creation. And to quote Henry Hill, «I ordered some spaghetti with marinara sauce, and I got egg noodles and ketchup». This place will likely continue to filled by locals on weekend nights, but to those lacking the sentimental relationship, do your tastebuds a favor and save your money

If you’re from the area and move away, this is one of the places you MUST visit when you return home. For me, it’s all about the crust. It’s slightly sweet, which sounds bizarre until you bite into it. I also love their specialty pizzas, especially the BLT(trust me — it’s amazeballs). On my last visit there, I thought it was slightly bizarre that the TVs were showing an infomercial for P90X — perhaps as a helpful hint for those of us saying«Holy cow, how am I going to work this off?»

What I get every single time at Angelo’s is something that I’ve realized through the years few people have ever tried… Spaghetti Pizza! A trip home is not complete without Spaghetti Pizza. Each time it is as good as the first time I tried it. Even though I know I shouldn’t, I have to try to some bread and sauce before my pizza! Their sauce, along with their pizza, is amazing and a great garnish for your pizza even if you don’t get bread. I’m looking forward to their move to Dixon!

I have been forced to eat here again and again by my husband because this is the pizza he grew up with. He absolutley has to have it each time we’re in town, and I always thought it’s no big woop. Well, someone ordered the spaghetti stuffed pizza recently and now I am a fan! It’s particularly good for late night after you leave the bars!

Was just back over the past weekend and was VERY happy to see the bread is now more like it was before they messed with it. I can’t say it’s EXACTLY the same but it’s close enough for me. Everything else is exactly as it should be. Greatest sauce of all, excellent spaghetti and the Special pizza was tasty as always.
