I was the first to review this business, and I think my positive review may have caused a boom to Basha’s business, and therefore a decline in quality. I recently hired Basha again, this time to do my bathroom countertops, and was very disappointed in the quality. The price was also not as good as the first time. As others have mentioned, it was difficult to get Basha to call me back. When I finally managed to schedule a time to meet with him at his office, he was almost 30 minutes late. To his own office!(And I use the word«office» loosely, because it was pretty disgusting — covered with dust and litter, and even coffee spills on the floor that had never been wiped up.) The granite itself wasn’t cut to the right size. The 4 inch backsplash was shorter than the countertop itself, so they don’t line up. The backsplash is also too short(height-wise), so when the installers first put it in, there was a 1 cm gap between the top of the backsplash and the bottom of the bathroom mirror. I complained, and 15 minutes later, the installers magically«fixed» the problem so the backsplash lined up with the mirror. It was only after I paid them and looked under the countertop that I realized what a shoddy fix it was. They literally found 3 splinters of wood, and stuck it under 3 spots on the countertop. So now there’s a 1 cm gap UNDER the countertop — between the countertop and the wood cabinet. They didn’t even bother caulking the gap so it was less noticeable.

Best installation award for DMV area. As a rehabber I’ve used Mr. Bold no less than 8 times in MD, DC and mostly Northern VA. He has never arrived on time or early of less than 45 minutes late. He allows me to pick my own slabs with excellent prices. His fabricators /installers do a better job than the company Lowes /Home Depot sub contracts the work to. I’ve seen others installing before with mechanical levels and the work was shoddy. Granite One’s installers are artists. The guy has a paint set to make the seam filler the best matching color. The most recent 77 sq ft kitchen required 2 slabs so I was expecting a higher price. The price was very reasonable considering there was a half slab left over, and my clients went to 2 wholesalers before picking the slabs they wanted. Additionally Mr. Bold has told me if I want some expensive stone like Blue Bahia then I can buy the slab at the price probably around $ 35-$ 45 per sq ft and he will do the rest around $ 20 per sq ft. Blue Bahia typically costs $ 100+ per sq ft. Best installer & best prices in MD, VA, &DC. My most recent install lacks attention to detail. The faucet hole is in the wrong place. After more than a month, the correct hole has not yet been drilled. Also a several hundred dollar vanity I brought to his shop has been trashed /gone missing. I can not in good conscious recommend this company. If you have hours to wait for the initial measurements to be taken then hire this company.

Dealing with this guy is incredibly difficult. He bailed or way late to at least half of the meetings we had scheduled. Once he didn’t show up at all, once I called him an hour AFTER he was supposed to be at my house and he said oh, yeah, sorry I can’t come today. Once I was supposed to meet him at his showroom and called him after I’d been waiting outside for ten minutes and he said he was just leaving and he’d be there in 10 minutes. The language barrier is hard too, sometimes I didn’t even know if he really understood what I want or not. Also he said halfway through that he’d misplaced the slab we’d picked out and he was just going to sub a different one, but I guess that got worked out. Really, I’d warn anyone away from dealing with this guy just because of the huge hassle — BUT! His granite prices are so so much cheaper than anywhere else. We saved at least $ 1500 by going with him over the next cheapest option. He also doesn’t charge for things like installation or sink cutouts if you’re over a certain threshold, I think 2k, and under that amount the sink cutout price is still really much cheaper than the competition(I think it was $ 75 as opposed to $ 200 quoted elsewhere, just to cut out a sink.) He even cut out a 2nd sink hole without adding to the price, and a simple bevel on the edge didn’t cost extra either. His installation team also had a language barrier but they very friendly and professional and quick, and the granite looks amazing. We had to join two pieces and it looks almost seamless. So, as long as you know it’s going to be a hassle and he probably won’t show or be late a lot, it is still worth it because of how good he is and how incredibly cheap his prices were.
