O’haira’s Salon and Day Spa

I started going to Jill one year ago. I’ve always dreaded getting my hair done because no one is ever done it exactly how I wanted. She is the nicest, most professional and most talented hairstylist I’ve ever been to. She is the only one who has done my hair exactly how I wanted it. I have not been able to go to her for about seven months now and she just called me to check up on me and my engagement. She is so personable and it felt really good to feel like she really cared. I live an hour away and will continue to drive that far.

I went in for a simple cut (no blow dry afterward) and was surprised at how little cutting occurred. The bedside manner, so to speak, was excellent, but the actual cut left much to be desired. Even with the Unilocal discount of 20% I wouldn’t return. I am looking for another stylist to fix what the first one did not do: cut straight bangs and freshen my hair. I expect a thorough cut that will make sure hair will fall evenly when dry and unstyled.
Perhaps no blow-​dry means not even for the purpose to see if one’s work was complete. I am sorry to give one star to such a nice set of folks but this was a very disappointing non-​cut.

This review is LONG over due — I bought a Specialicious deal less than a year ago for a mani/​pedi for $ 29 or something close to that. The «value» of the services was said to be around $ 70.
My experience was disastrous.
First, the nail tech was completely unfriendly and unprepared. I sat in the pedicure chair while she gathered her tools (taking her an extra 5 minutes because they were not all in one place). Then they had run out of disposable sandals, so I got to wear only one out the door! The pedicure looked like something I could have done myself which is not saying much because in no way am I a professional.
On to the manicure… apalling! Not only did she take forever doing my nails, but she used her OWN nails (not a tool) to clean up the excess nail polish on my skin. Are you KIDDING me? I figured since this was a SALON/​SPA, I would have a much more luxurious and SANITARY experience. Boy was I wrong.
I stopped her before she could finish my nails because I was so disgusted and annoyed. To top everything off when I went to turn my voucher in, the receptionist tries to tell me that they encourage at least 20% tip, if not more, since the service is considered «exceptional». Give me a break!
I will never go back to his salon and I would never recommend any one go here. By the way — this is the worst review I have ever given any establishment.

I bought a Specialicious Deal for a facial. I was a bit apprehensive as I had many facials and I love them if they are good! Janeth (she’s the only one who does facials when I went) was terrific! I’ve had two –so far and I was very happy… There was even 2 «bonuses» — a hand massage/​hot mitt treatment and a delicious neck/​upper back massage. She knows what she is doing with facials. AAA++++ all the way!

Ohairos is the friendly, relaxing place where people know your name. Fred and I have great conversations. Jill runs a tight shop. The people there just know how to treat a customer.

My whole family has been going there for about 5 years. All the stylists are so nice and like family. You can tell they enjoy their work and it seems most have worked there for many years.
We have been to Jill, Ramie and Fred. They always take time to listen and give good suggestions when asked. We wouldn’t go anywhere else…

At first I was a little apprehensive about getting my nails done, but the girls at O’haira’s made me feel comfortable and weren’t pretentious at all. They have an array of services from your typical hair stuff to other spa services to include manicures, pedicures, facials, massage and even this thing called threading where a woman takes a thread and uses it to pluck those unruly hairs around the brows and on the upper lips. I declined the service and said I’d shave instead.
This day spa has a great atmosphere, is extremely clean, has friendly service, free coffee, and free internet.

I used to go to Candy here and she was great!
But more recently, I went there when I needed a color touch up. I don’t remember who did my hair, her name might have been Joy, I’m not sure. I told her I wanted my roots bleached, not dyed because when people try to dye it, it doesn’t get light enough to match the rest of my hair.
Instead of doing my roots, she decided to give me highlights instead. Not at all what I wanted. Sure, my roots were blended for like two weeks, but that’s not what I asked for. Thanks for nothing, because I had to get it redone for my wedding!

I went with a couple of my friends to get manicures and we certainly felt pampered. This place was so clean and the atmosphere was very friendly. I’ll definitely go back to try a few more services.
