Pilates By Danita

After lower back surgery, I was sent off to physical therapy at multiple institutes over a period of 4 – 5 months. I never felt like I was gaining strength or relief of back pain. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and find a Pilates instructor (I noticed in physical therapy a lot of exercises were Pilates based), that’s when I stumbled upon Danita Pilates. She is absolutely amazing. She customizes your entire workout to your physical capabilities for that particular day. I was one of those people who thought if you weren’t sweating you weren’t getting a good workout… boy she proved me wrong! If you have back issues, forget physical therapy sessions… I would recommend Danita! She is honest, caring and strives to make sure all of her clients advance in their wellness goals.

I have had a few pilates instructors over the years, and easily find Danita to be the best. Her knowledge of not only pilates, but health and fitness in general, offer a wide range of instruction and advice to her clients. Personally, she has taken me from a place of wanting to be fit to being in the best shape of my life! She has a way of challenging me to reach for more, without any negativity. I find her studio to be as welcoming and calming as she is. Danita is both professional and personable, and a true find for anyone in the DC area.

I’ve been doing Pilates with Danita for over a year now and spinning for about six months. Danita is the best trainer I’ve ever had — she is knowledgeable, experienced, patient, accurate and fun :-) She will make sure you are getting a good workout matching your abilities and goals. Her studio in Sterling is small and personal with all equipment you can imagine for Spinning and Pilates. I can only recommend Danita for your fitness needs.

Danita is a great instructor. We are doing spinning classes with a group of friends and co-​workers every week with her since about 6 months. Her spin classes are not like the typical spin class where you get on a bike get pumped with loud music and a yelling instructor in front of you. Danita makes sure that you adjust your bike correctly and that you don’t run on full speed all the time. Spinning its about endurance training and Danita is very knowledgeable in how you manage your energy level correct. Don’t get me wrong I love the music part at spinning and Danita has a great selection changing every time (she even brings Halloween music for the Halloween week). The best part is the diversity in her spinning classes. We do typically about 30 minutes on the bike and 30 minutes TRX which is a great combination of endurance workout and focus on your muscles afterwards. Thanks to Danita we found a great place for workout after work. Danita is very personable and experienced in her field. Also worth mentioning is the personal atmosphere in her studio. I can recommend Danita to everyone who is looking for a great Spinning or Pilates workout with a trainer who knows what she’s doing and a studio with a personal touch.

I’ve been seeing Danita for Pilates since May. She is a wonderful instructor! The diversity in her practices has enabled me to broaden my development in my Pilates practice. Danita pays attention to any issues/​restrictions you may have with your body movement (weak wrists, bad back, etc) and alters her lessons to maximize benefit-​without irritating any of those areas.
I have taken private lessons as well which I highly recommend! She looks at all aspects of your movement and assists you in drawing attention to places for improvement, etc.
Classes I have taken elsewhere previously have not given me the benefits I have received from sessions with Danita. She is a wonderful individual with a big heart and an amazing Pilates instructor!

I knew Danita in California. She was my teacher at Bali Gym in San Leandro, in the San Francisco Bay Area. I cannot say enough about Danita’s ability as a teacher: she was always well-​prepared for her class, chose the perfect music for our routines, followed our progress and our needs closely, and met our expectations of what exercises and practices we could do with our bodies, no matter in what state they were (I was 67 at the time). I found myself losing weight, shaping up nicely, and, most importantly, being confident that I could do what I had imagined I might be able to do in my wild dreams. Danita was measured, positive, knowledgable, and immensely patient and joyful. A gem.

Where do I begin! Pilates by Danita was one of the greatest things that happened to my life since moving to DC. My posture was always off. I slouched and strained by neck and back on a daily basis. Danita not only straightened me up and got rid of my tension headaches due to my poor posture, she taught me things about my body I had never known.
On top of her pilates expertise, Danita’s spin classes are a blast and you don’t walk away feeling like you can’t get up the next day. She makes sure you are seated on your bike appropriately before the class begins and helps you throughout the whole work out– off and on the bike. I am so happy to have found Danita, give her a call!

Danita is so great! I’ve been taking privates with her once a week for almost a year now. I’ve been to other studios and her prices are very affordable. Her workouts are always new, creative, and help you work on things you need to the most! She is very encouraging, positive and seriously one of the nicest people! I recommend her to all my friends that are interested in pilates.

Danita is amazing! I have been going to her for Stott pilates one-​on-​one for 7 months now and it shows. She is so encouraging that it makes you want to work harder. I started off having not exercised consistently for a number of years and now I look forward to seeing her every week.
She has also started spinning classes as well and they are great! Affordable and there are a variety of levels of people in each class. She encourages everyone to go at their own pace, and you keep going back every week without hesitation.

Pilates by Danita is one of those rare studios where when you walk in you feel that you will be in the presence of a truly gifted master teacher. Danita truly evokes that saying of do what you love and love what you do!
She is incredibly talented and highly educated in the Stott pilates method along with a bajillion other certs. I love all her classes and especially the Reformer, TRX and bosu classes. She does small group which makes it so much more like a 1:1 session and privates as well.
I went to Danita after an L5/​S1 lumbar fusion and she and her miracle work got my back to being stronger than it has ever been so I can’t thank her enough.

Danita is a great instructor! I have been training with her for about 8 years and just love her energy! She is great at pushing you to give it your all.
The private classes are amazing and she truly tailors each exercise to your personal needs and goals.
The classes are a blast and full of some great ladies, and still Danita still keeps an eye out for any special needs you may have with different options for different levels.
I have followed Danita at several other gyms and her classes were always the most popular and now no need for a gym membership… just enjoy all Danita!

For anyone who thinks they know Pilates from a group ex class at a gym you will be in for a big surprise taking a Pilates class at Pilates by Danita. I took group ex pilates classes at Ballys for 10 years I thought I knew Pilates. No way, I’ve learned so much with Danita and have seen tremendous results. Her studio is SO CLEAN and peaceful. I still pay my monthly Bally’s bill, but I hardly ever use it — peferring Danita’s classes to any offered at Ballys. Just waiting for a spin class and I’ll be set!
