This was my third and final time as an Erbert’s and Gerbert’s customer. I ordered my sandwich over an hour ahead of time since past experience has taught me that there will always be quite a wait. I arrived to pick up my order and was waiting in line for a while while the assumedly new cashier struggled with how to ring up a customer’s order, and then struggled again when ringing up my pickup order. A manager stepped in to help him and at the same time, informed me that my sandwich was not ready yet. To me, this seemed borderline ridiculous considering I called an hour in advance but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to wait. After several minutes, a girl tossed a paper bag on the counter near the register and walked away. «She’s here to pick it up,» the manager said. The girl replied with«Well, did she pay for it?» with a whole lot of unnecessary attitude. I walked over to grab my sandwich and said, «You know, I hate to be this person but this is kind of unacceptable. I called ahead and the sandwich wasn’t even ready an hour later and she just throws the bag on the counter and walks away?» The manager seriously could not have cared less and made a comment about how«the entire high school graduating class» had come in for sandwiches and it slowed them down and that they«aren’t going to make my sandwich an hour ahead of time», as if that was even something a person would consider to be logical or rational. I totally get that a large and unexpected crowd can throw any restaurant for a loop, and can cause a serious backup, but you’d think there’d be some sort of system in place that would allow everyone to receive their food in a reasonable amount of time. The manager offered to personally make my sandwich next time but the problem was not with the food at all. It’s the same problem that I and others have experienced every time we’ve been there — all of the employees look miserable or bewildered or both. There appears to be a lack of communication and a lack of morale and if they think that customers don’t notice, they could not be more wrong.

Employees always seem to hate their lives, but dang their sandwiches are good. I love the little piece of scooped out bread you get on the side. So yummy!

Three stars is a bit generous but I’m doing it because the sandwiches are pretty good and they offer gluten free bread for people with sensitivities. I used to love coming here when I was younger. It’s been nearly 5 years and it seems as though the service has greatly diminished. I’ve been twice since being back in the area and each time have been displeased with the workers. They all seem like they hate their jobs and would love nothing more than to just walk out; as if the customers are a burden. The last time I went in with my gf, the manager stopped the cashier before taking our order so that he could make change for the delivery guy. I get that he had an order to deliver, that’s fine. What I don’t get is the manager taking his time, slowly counting everything out and making jokes with the other workers while we waited. Even the cashier told the manager we were waiting but he didn’t seem to care, he just made a joke about it. It took nearly twice as long as it should have, and the sandwiches the same. There was no sense of urgency or appropriate customer service, and only a half hearted apology for the extensive wait time. IF you choose to go here make sure you have plenty of time to wait for your food.

Erbert and Gerbert’s is a great place for subs. They are open really late and have really good subs, they scoop out the inside of the French bread and they give you the portion that they scoop out. I go here whenever it is a better or closer option than Jimmy John’s. I also feel like Erbert’s and Gerbert’s is cheaper than Jimmy John’s too.

it use to be one of my fave spots, but last year it has gone down hill… order always wrong, soak subs in mayo, bread soggy from it all, wrapped messy… not sure what is going on there… should be a 5.

I keep saying not to come back here, but I keep believing that it will be what it once was. It never gets better! The sandwiches are skimpy, yes the bread is good, but that is all they have going for them. They don’t put enough meat on the sandwich. I wish they would stop being so skimpy.

This place would have gotten more stars if its employees didn’t seem so «meh» all the time. Good subs, decent customer service. Kinda pricey – they charge a dollar per sub for delivery. But their subs are addicting, so they’ve got you there.

Food is good. Service and professionalism are both terrible. I suppose when you hire very young people to work late at night your expectations are fairly low. There was a note attached to a make-shift tip jar that read«tip this sexy bitch». It took a few minutes for the girl working to take my order because she was giving out her manager’s personal phone number and asking the customers in front of me to call him to complain about the music being out, she kept repeating«call him and complain, no one should have to work in silence». So very sad.

This is by far and away my favorite sub place in Point. The sandwiches only come in one size(length-wise), so if you want something with a little more heft try the«specials». These are basically the same sandwiches as the«classics» but with double the meat or extra toppings. One of the best part of erbs and gerbs is the«guts». The«guts» of the bread are torn out to make more room for the sandwich fillers, and the«guts» are wrapped up with your sandwich. This is awesome for dunking in one of their excellent soups. They have freshly baked deserts for purchase as well(chocolate covered rice crispy treats, etc). This place gets pretty packed around the lunch, dinner and late night hours — so be warned. However, it’s sooo worth any wait you might have.

Better known as «Erbs and Gerbs», this is a great sub place. They also have an excellent soup selection. They’ve redone the downtown a bit so there’s a little more parking, but if you can’t find something, there’s a big lot across the street. The staff is extra friendly and will gladly make recommendations if your not sure what you want to get. I normally go for the Narmer with no sprouts, no mayo. They also have a selection of breads to choose from and quite a few drink options. Also, they have expanded the inside and it’s quite spacious and well decorated, especially compared to 2009. You can read the stories about each sandwich on the wall. Cute!
