I visited the lodge and was excited to get a nice manicure. I chose the ultimate option with gel polish. After two days the polish is chipping! I followed the direction of the spa attendant and chose a more expensive polish. After spending $ 55 on the manicure and additional $ 15 for the gel option I am surprised to have this issue. I gave it 2 stars only because the staff was incredibly nice but for $ 70 this should have lasted longer then two days. I have never had a problem with chipping in the past and I am sad that after spending money to stay at Skamania I didn’t get the one thing I was looking for. Hoping to give this another try in the future but won’t spend extra since it wasn’t worth it.

Disappointed by highly anticipated 80 minute massage. Therapist A****** arrived late, very asymmetric massage, lackluster. He was yawning loudly throughout the session. Never had a worse experience for a massage at a destination resort. And I was indeed looking forward to it. Bummer.

Had an awesome massage last night with Priya — request her. Overpriced but it’s a hotel, would expect that.

I love this spa! There is a great hot tub inside with panoramic views of the gorge. The facilities are clean and inviting. My massage was absolutely wonderful. I hope to go back soon.

We are in the first day of a three day stay at Skamania Lodge. My wife had booked a massage for herself and one for a friend who is also staying here for this afternoon. There was some confusion on the appointment times, but that was pretty easily resolved. Simply stated, my wife’s massage was terrible. She kept asking for the therapist to go deeper and use more pressure, but what she got was a massage that was, in her words, «weaker than our 5-year old daughter could have done.» I know service quality can be a rather subjective thing, but my wife and I owned a very highly rated day spa for years and personally hired 50 or 60 massage therapists, so she has a pretty good idea of what constitutes a good massage. At check out, my wife said nothing, but did not tip on the service. The receptionist asked her why she didn’t tip, which I think is pretty out of line in the first place, and when my wife said it was because her massage was terrible, she didn’t say a thing. The facility is nice, and the prices are upscale resort high… but the service does not deliver… save your money. Love staying at the Lodge, though!

I had an amazing massage with Rachel today. She had just the right pressure to make it a very relaxing experience. I found my mind drifting which made for the perfect experience. I highly recommend Rachel at Skamania Lodge for a massage. One of the spa front desk girls didn’t call me back to confirm my appointment, seemed very unsure of herself and overall lacked confidence. Why four stars rather than five. Massage with Rachel was a five.

During my recent stay at Skamania Lodge(which I loved, you can read my 5-star review of it) I also booked a couples massage at the Waterleaf Spa. The spa is part of the resort but you can also visit it as a day spa and gain access to the resort’s fitness center, pool and hot tubs. While I have rave reviews for the lodge itself and the fitness center, I was more than a little dissapointed in the spa experience. The cost of a couple’s massage was almost more than our room and neither my partner or I was very happy with the therapists. The full body massages were in this small, somewhat cramped room where we literally had to squeeze by one another and there was lots of loud and distracting clunking around when either of the masseuses tried to move around the massage tables. This was very distracting and didn’t help us relax. Then the massages themselves were of pretty marginal quality. Both of us asked for some deeper kneading since we’re pretty stressed out individuals(who isn’t these days?) and I got the soft, feathery treatment while my partner was sort of drummed on and then routinely shaken. It’s hard to explain but needless to say, we both left with MUCH emptier pockets but the same sore backs. I won’t be spending money on another treatment when I’m back at the lodge.
