What a cute place with fast service and delicious food. Just make sure you get there plenty early before they close. When they say they close at 2, they are kicking everyone out 5 minutes before! They mean business about closing time.

On our way to Chicago, decided to stop at Bert’s. A great breakfast find! The place is clean, staff is friendly, and the food was delicious. An empty cup of coffee was never to happen. The coffee was plentiful and the food was served quickly.

Most reviews you read are accurate. Food is simple & good and they will customize your order to exactly what you want. I had the magic mountain breakfast and it was great. The comments about your coffee cup never getting empty is true. One of the staff runs circles topping off your cup. Plan on getting here early or expecting a wait and I would not even try bringing a group larger then four. Only negative thing was the food took a little longer then one would expect but we were meeting old friends so it did not matter to us. Well worth the trip.

Bert’s was amazing!!! Great, friendly service. Note they only take cash. My friend and I didn’t have cash and Pat(a regular patron) bought our breakfast! Everyone was so kind. We paid it forward later that day. Great food, great service and even better company.

What a find! We were having a difficult time finding a place open for breakfast on a recent girls weekend and came across Bert’s through Unilocal.Typical little diner with excellent food. We all liked our food, especially the hashbrowns(loved them). My friend was excited about the way they buttered the toast. The only complaint was one person didn’t care for the sausage links — they were dry and charred. But overall, it was a great find for four hungry girls. We had a lot of laughs and we’ll definitely remember our stop at Bert’s!

Breakfast at Berts was amazing! The service was wonderful, everyone was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The food came out quick and was all correct and tasted great. They even let my husband pick 2 different kinds of toast with his meal. They offer smaller portions on most of their food, too. Definitely recommend Berts!

Food was really good! Crunchy hash browns and corn beef hash. Friendly staff. Being that I don’t live in Stevensville, I’m glad we stopped here.

Hot, cheap, very good, and always consistent. Wish they were open on Sundays! Super clean, with very high regard to food safety. I don’t eat meat, and I’ve never had a problem eating here. Love this place, and greatly appreciate the amazing service!

Amazing Breakfast! My very large group and I were on our way north to a camp ground so we were looking for somewhere good to eat in Benton Harbor. Right off the highway, easy place to find, we chose Berts due to the ratings. Knowing they closed at 1:00pm they still offered to sit 9 of us. Service was quick, friendly, and consistant. I only get eggs benedict at certain places and the serve mentioned the cook has her own special receipe for the sauce, had to try it. It was Delicious! If you’re driving through West Michigan I highly recommend this place!

Initially, the place was hard to find and then I walked in and saw that they didn’t have a credit card machine. Therefore, I asked another patron if they were cash only to which they said yes. The restaurant was very nice and homey. Most of the wait staff was very friendly; however, I was seated at the ‘counter’ and interacted with some of their coffee /dish runners. They were a little moody, but it was a busy Saturday morning. I ordered via the waitress’ recommendation a veggie omelette with a half order of hash browns and half order of bacon. The portions for halves were still large so I’m happy that I only ordered halves. The omelette was very good and not overcooked. They are known for their hash browns and will agree that they were delicious! I prefer crispy bacon and didn’t mention that but the bacon came out to the perfect crispy but not burnt taste. Only reason why I didn’t leave 5 stars: they should have a sign out posting that they are cash /personal check only. I originally had sat down and was ready to order and then found out that they were cash only. Needless to say, I left the establishment to go a couple of blocks over to the Chase to get cash. Would I visit again? Absolutely.

Fair or foul, Bert’s going to hook up with a lot of girls and make a lot of money. Better than upstairs at the Rhino.

My wife and I ate there for the first time today. The breakfast was pretty good. But the most impressive thing was the staff. We found them to be very friendly and very accomodating. We did not order anything off menu, but the waitress went out of her way to let us know they would customize our order any way we liked. We will definitely be back.

Went to Burt’s today for Sat breakfast for four. Once seated we waited over an hour and 10 minutes for our food. So did several other tables. The staff is friendly and it’s clean and local… but over an hour for bfast is not worth it. #starving

Just what we were looking for! Old school diner. Staff was very friendly. They were busy but got in 2 parties of 5 in just a few minutes. Food was hearty… big servings. Waffles and grits are both legit. Had to buy a sweatshirt on the way out. We will be back when we are in the Stevensville area

Great breakfast spot. The Hungry Mountain is a lot of food but we’ll worth it. Most meals can be ordered smaller for a lower cost. Just be warned they do not take credit cards and they don’t have a sign saying so.

My wife who is from the area took me to Bert’s about two weeks ago and I have to say I wish we had gone to Denny’s. The setting is nice, rural and plain. There is a counter and about a dozen tables to sit at so it feels like it should be good… the service is a little over-attentive… but again, friendly. These people take their business personally; this review will not be welcome. That said, there was a woman doing circles like a buzzard who kept throwing my attention as I tried to have a conversation. She was sweet as hell, but also annoying. The food, however, was my biggest gripe. It seemed low-rate, where I thought it would be over the top hearty like a country field of grain. The ingredients were not country, but corporate — skimpy cuts of bread, bad jelly, and I’m pretty sure the cheese on my omelet was Velveeta. I am not the sort to pick things out of my food, but if I am going to eat naughty calories then I want them to be worth it. I ate around the«cheese.» Cheap cheese is not what I expected from this type of «hidden gem.» The sad part is, that there is probably a nice selection of local farmers making homemade cheeses, churned by hand, which they could be working into their recipes on a trade out for advertising. «We feature Jones’ farms cheese, made local so you know it’s fresh.» I genuinely wish the best for this business and for the people working there. I almost didn’t write this review because they were so nice… but perhaps there is opportunity to get better and make a better product. Or maybe, this city boy has too high expectations and needs to go back to the big city for his country meal.
