Every time I go I always wonder why we don’t go more often! I love this place. The food is always hot and the soups are INCREDIBLE. I really like the great beer selection, too! Definitely a Stillwater favorite.

Can’t go wrong with Hideaway Pizza. Great crust, heavy with toppings, high quality cheese. We eat here every trip to Stillwater.

Great pizza! Awesome service! Solid exclusive beer! Had the pizza of the gods, came out fast! Very very good pizza. Will definitely come back next time I am in town for business. The exclusive Hideaway ’57 Ale was a very good Kolsch brewed by Marshall Brewing.

I’ve been to 4 hideaway locations and this is my least favorite. I think I’d give the others 4 stars, but this one was a bit run down. Since it is the first, I was hoping it would be charmingly dated, not ruggedly dated. The food was just like the other locations, so I guess that’s a plus.

Been going to Hideway since I was a kid. Want to clarify the rating, I would give them a 4 for the food, it’s always on point. 2 stars for the service, it’s always so disorganized. You don’t really get a single server dedicated to your table, instead you’ll get multiple people coming by to ask if you need water, if you’ve ordered yet, etc. Have had messups on orders many times. Gets annoying. Otherwise this place rules. Food, location, atmosphere all solid.

I have eaten at this location 3 times over the past 20 years in my travels. Whenever I am in Stillwater, I stop in for some pizza. Excellent pizza. It has always been very tasty each time. I highly recommend you go there when in town for a ballgame or whatever, if you get my expression.

I was with a big group of 28 people and we ordered some 5 huge pizzas. i believe everyone had enough. They had some interesting names such pizza of gods etc. only one thing troubled me that once we started eating nobody showed up to ask for any drinks or refills. But its a good place to go and eat again.

I love hideaway pizza, however I was a little disappointed in this location. They do not have the same selection of pizzas available on the menu. This is the only reason I deducted a star. The pizza and service were terrific just like any other location I have visited. I can’t wait until the Yukon location opens!!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect based on the other Unilocal reviews, but I am here to tell you that I was blown away by the pizza. The dough and crust makes this pizza a MUSTTRY! Based on other reviews, I tried the Pizza of the Gods as well as a Veggie Combo with added jalapeños. Both were very good but the Pizza of the Gods was my hands down favorite. Order a side of marinara sauce to dip your crust in — so good!(We also ordered the popular fried mushrooms, but I didn’t think they were anything special.) Good draft beer selection — I tasted a couple IPAs before choosing one. Service is kind but average(college kids). First time we went, they got our order wrong but he was very apologetic and gave us a free medium pizza that was the right order. Second time we went, had to ask several times for lemon for our iced teas.(Yes, pizza is so good we came back a second time during my short visit!) This place is a local staple — the old owner collected kites and his collection adorns the walls and ceiling. He also invented a board game and you can grab a board from the hostess stand and play it at your table.

The ice was, what can I say, the BEST part of. the meal. The salad, I can say, was SHITE. It tasted like a flappy bird that was disowned by its mother, because the employee who made this salad TOUCHED it!!! Hhhhhhhave a niceday, stick with the ice.

Hideaway pizza is the epitome of overrated college food. People only like it because people tell them they are supposed to. The pizza is undercooked the toppings are old the managers and staff are rude, and the patrons are annoying. I would rather eat from a Taco Bell dumpster than hideaway. At least a $ 30 Taco Bell ticket is worth it’s weight in food.

Arrived at 6:30 on a Friday evening with a party of 7. There was a line out the door but honestly we didn’t wait more than 20 minutes or so which was great. Went on a Friday(no meat during Lent) so had to settle for the 5 cheese pizza and the veggie, also ordered artichoke dip. The dip was just so-so. The pizza was good but when they were being delivered the waiter dumped water all over one of the people at our table and all over our cheese pizza. So they got us a new pizza but when it came out the dough wasn’t cooked all the way through. Since there were 7 of us by the time we figured it out we were half way through 7 pieces of pizza so decided not to say anything but it was disappointing. Even more disappointing was zero compensation for the issue — didn’t offer a free dessert, didn’t take anything off the bill. I know stuff happens, but in the restaurant biz recovery is key and they just did absolutely nothing to recover.

Awesome pizza! Service is great and the interior décor is appealing as well. Definitely try the Big Country, it is easily the best pizza on the menu.

Hideaway was just A-OK. I should say THIS location of Hideaway is just A-OK. The one downtown OKC is awesome with a better menu and way better service(and free plastic to-go cups). After enduring not even ½ of the 2.5 hour wait at Eskimo Joe’s, we decided to head on over to Hideaway. We arrived and the restaurant had that«original location» vibe written all over it. Hey, are these all franchised? Wouldn’t Mr. Hideaway want his original location to be all decked out, not running down? Just sayin’. The menu is different. No Tulsa Hurricane on the menu. No baked mushroom caps. No cheesy garlic bread. The waitress was less than interested in our need for a Tulsa Hurricane and suggested we look up the toppings(yes, for us to look online at another Hideaway location) and just rattle the ingredients off to her and she would make it a custom pie. Whatever, homeskillet. So we did. We got our food and the pizza was still decently good. Our original waitress was MIA, never to be heard from again. I saw her wandering around ½ the time but we were relegated to being served by whatever other random fella was wandering by who we snagged for more napkins/to go box/beer refills. I eventually got up and bussed our own table(aw, old waitressing days!) and put the dirties on a clean table nearby. Grr. Overall, the wee ones dug their kids food and we dug our grownup food. The atmosphere isn’t great and the service, a la apathetic college student, is even worse. Maybe we shoulda waited for Joe’s.

Gotta love the original location in Stillwater! Their pizza always tastes amazing, and up until recently the salads/salad dressings were so good. They’ve changed their salads to field greens to up the nutrition factor, but some people just don’t like bitter field greens. They should give customers the option of either salad(field greens or traditional iceberg lettuce) if they want to keep long time customers happy. I know my in-laws have stopped ordering salads there. Plus on our last visit, the dressing didn’t taste as good as it used to. Super thin, like the kind straight out of a bottle. Moving on. Fun atmosphere, hit or miss on service, great food, but limited parking up front. Thankfully there are several spots around the corner by the church and along the neighboring buildings/on the road. Even on super busy days you can usually find a spot within limited walking distance. I think everyone should visit this location at least once in their lives. A lot of the other Hideaway locations tweak recipes, including the sauce, so there’s nothing quite like the original.

Literally tastes just like Digiorno frozen pizza. We ordered a plan Pepperoni and the ATW(Around The World) to-go and the crust was the absolute worst part; everything else was decent but if the crust is bad then it ruins the entire pizza. Total cost was around $ 30.00, save yourself about $ 15.00 and go to Walmart and pick up one of there fresh made bakery pizzas. They are 10x better. Do Not Waste Your Money!!!

Very good pizza! Highly recommend. The service was fast. Both the initial order and the pizza. Even though it was our first time in the restaurant the waitress still treated us with enthusiasm and was polite.

The original Hideaway in Stillwater is definitely the best. I’ve heard they won’t give their full recipes to branch locations in OKC and such, and I believe it! Something about the crust and pizza at the Stillwater location puts it above the rest. Hideaway is a Stillwater staple. It’s beyond packed on game days if you’re willing to wait, but if you’re in town for anything else, it’s definitely worth a trip. My favorite is the Big Country, which is basically an all-meat pizza and also has cheddar in addition to mozzarella. Deeeelicious. I also am an avid mushroom hater(like the flavor, hate the squishy texture), but I love Hideaway’s fried mushrooms! Side salads are decent, but you come and stay for the pizza. Service can be iffy, but that’s not surprising to me for a college town. It’s a super laid back atmosphere and some of the best pizza you’ll have!

Visited on: multiple dates from 2012 to present It’s damn near impossible to be a graduate student at Oklahoma State University and not eat here at least once. People will take you here when you’re visiting as a prospective grad student, and then once you’re an actual grad student you will be taking visitors here. As a result, I’ve been here more times than at any other restaurant in Stillwater(aside from fast food restaurants) and I’ve tried pretty much everything I want to try on the menu. It makes sense, really; it’s decent food that’s close to campus, and even though it’s a chain, this is the original Hideaway and it’s a cultural institution in Stillwater. So yes, there’s a good reason it’s always picked for out-of-town guests, and I would take any first-time visitor here as well. As for food, let’s start with the Specialty Pizzas, which is what you should get if it’s your first time here. I’ve had six of them, and I’ll rank them from my least favorite to most favorite. — The Paradise Pie — has alfredo sauce, chicken, and bacon, and it’s okay — Pizza of the Gods — vegetarian pizza that has surprisingly tasty artichoke hearts — Barbecue Beef — barbecue sauce and roast beef; it’s okay — Pizza Supreme — the first one I ever tried; it’s a typical pizza with sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, olives, onions, and mushrooms; it’s very good — Hideaway Special — like a sampler pizza, with different toppings on each of four slices; it’s pretty cool if you want to try different toppings on one pizza — Big Country — a meat lover’s pizza loaded with pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon, and smoked bacon If none of the Specialty Pizzas strike your fancy, you can create your own by getting a Basic Cheese Pizza and then choosing toppings. I’ve personally tried the following toppings: Pepperoni Mild Sausage Chicken Breast Fresh Mushroom Canadian Bacon Hamburger Italian Sausage Smoked Oyster All of them are fine except for the Smoked Oyster, which was TERRIBLE — literally one of the worst things I’ve ever had the displeasure of eating in my life. Not only did it taste like mud, but it gave me massive indigestion and, shall we say, a loosely constituted stool the entire afternoon. They have Famous Fried Mushrooms, which are pretty good(though I think one time a colleague of mine found dirt in hers). They have several Fresh Salads; I’ve had the Just-A-Beginner which is a very basic salad, and it was average as far as salads go. The other salads might be better because they have more toppings, including meat. They also have several Pasta options, and I’ve had the Spaghetti Supreme. It’s quite good, but it’s also pretty basic — meatball, sausage, chicken, and mushrooms with marinara sauce — and I could make the same dish at home. Finally, they have sandwiches, and I’ve had the Avogobble(on Italian white bread), which was okay. I normally weight food heavily when writing reviews, but for this restaurant I need to bring up the service. It’s almost always super slow, and while that might be because I’m usually in a large group when I’m there, I’ve been here maybe twice in a party of four or less and it was still fairly slow. My fellow graduate students can also attest to this.

Stopped in for a pizza after the football game. We started with the fried mushrooms. I’m not a huge mushroom fan generally, but dip a shunned veggie in batter and fry it up and everyone’s a fan. They were lightly crispy and not too greasy. For dinner, we tried the Little Kahuna pizza, which came with feta, chicken, bacon, and sun-dried tomatoes. It wasn’t terrible, but for $ 17 for a Medium I think I was expecting something better. I don’t like to dock ratings for service(people can just be having a busy/bad night), but we waited on refills all night-our waiter disappeared after taking our order and was MIA for the remaining 90% of the meal. Was it bad? No. Would I go back? Probably not of my own accord, but if my sister wanted to I could be talked into a couple more of those mushrooms.
