How does an all AA staff manage to F up some fried chicken? If you’d like to know just ask the people that work here. I even waited once for 7 minutes for two apple pies and they were not good either. And while I am venting let me also ad that I don’t know which is worse, this place or the Popeye’s up the street. But the Mrs. Winner’s chicken isn’t far behind them. Good thing they still have good steak biscuits.

WHY is Church’s still in business??? So I was driving down the street trying to decide what restaurant I wanted to get some food from to go home and eat. I came across Church’s…Now keep in mind that I haven’t eaten at Church’s in FIVE years because to me, their food wasn’t good. I figured most restaurants change recipes and update some things when it comes to their products so I decided to eat Church’s today thinking they may have done some updates to their products too… BIGGGMISTAKE! As soon as I came to the speaker in the drive thru, I was put on hold. After about 5 minutes, my order was taken. I told the girl I wanted a combo with wings and legs with 2 sides. She rung me up for some combo that was $ 6 then charged me another $ 1.89. I asked what’s the extra charge for and she said«we don’t have a combo consisting of wings and legs so I had to ring you up for a specific combo and charge you extra for the wings». I laughed a little bit and said ok. In total, I ended up paying almost $ 9 for 3 pieces of chicken and 2 sides… ridiculous! Since I’m pregnant and was hungry, I paid the money. She gave me my food and I went home. Once I got home and bit into the chicken, I literally almost threw up! It was DISGUSTING! The chicken tasted like it was burnt AND cooked in 5-day old grease! It also tasted like someone has spilled a bottle of bleach or some type of chemical into the batter and still fried the chicken in the batter anyway! The coleslaw was okay but the mashed potatoes tasted stale and the biscuits tasted like they had been sitting out for a while! As soon as I bit into the food, it reminded me of why I have not eaten Church’s in five years!!! How is Church’s still in business!!! Their food is absolutely disgusting!!! I was so upset that I ended up throwing everything away! I didn’t even bother to call up there and complain because all they would have done was offered me a free meal and I don’t want a free meal because I won’t EVER be eating there again! My advice: If you’re hungry and you come across a Church’s, PRESSTHEGASPEDALANDKEEPMOVING! Find you a Popeyes to ENSURE you eat something good! CHURCH’S ISDISGUSTINGANDTHEYOVERCHARGEFORTHEIRNASTYPRODUCTS! Totally dissatisfied!

The chicken was hot and fresh(as it should’ve been considering my wait) We had the macaroni and cheese, dirty rice, mashed potatoes, chicken and biscuits… the food was really good and the honey butter biscuits were amazing! To compensate for my wait the manager threw in some extras, which are always nice! I sampled the fried okra which was a little greasy, but tasty. The chicken was not greasy, especially compared to one other southern chicken chain. I can’t wait to go back south to visit again.

First let me say that this is my first review for Atlanta, more specifically Stockbridge, and I have to say if more people did reviews in the area then maybe the restaurants would feel forced to step up their game. I use Unilocal to find restaurants especially when I’m out of town, but people don’t use it that often in the south. Therefore, I’m making it my duty to review every single restaurant and establishment that I visit while on my trip. So on to my review– even for a fast food restaurant this place was disgusting. The chicken wasn’t seasoned and the biscuits were dry and over-cooked. The chicken was coated with a flavorless batter and over fried in some old grease. I made the whole trip because there isn’t a Churches in Boston and I was craving their«honey butter» biscuits which barely had any honey because it had ran to the bottom and had harden to a crispty crust. How are their two staples(chicken and biscuits) the two worse things we ordered. I have to say the fried okra and Cajun rice were good, which makes me feel a little less guilty about giving this place one star instead of the zero stars I wish I could give. oThe okra was perfectly crisp and the rice was well seasoned. Aside from that, this place should be ashamed to be in the south and selling chicken so bland. Do yourself a favor and try the Popeyes down the street and be sure to leave a review.
