A great place for lunch. We had the clam chowder and salmon burger which were both delicious. This is not on the main road but tucked in a short alley. What a special find. We will come back when in the area.

Stopped here for lunch Saturday, October 24,2015. We lucked out and got a table for 4 right away which was great since it’s a busy place. Since it was a cold day we all got the homemade butternut squash soup, it was delicious. I had the salmon burger on English muffin with a side of cous cous, muffin was toasted and salmon was tasty. My friends had the oven fried chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread. They all agreed it was scrumptious. There was some confusion over their sides, they substituted the cous cous for salads instead which the menu stated would be a substitute not in addition to. They asked why they didn’t get their cous cous, the waiter immediately offered to bring them cous cous rather than make a fuss which I thought was very smart of him. Our waiter was very attentive and fulfilled all our request. The space is tight, not much bigger than my living room but was not overly loud and we spent a nice meal visiting and lingering over coffee, I hadn’t seen these friends in 15 years, at no point were we rushed. I would definitely go back again when in Stockbridge.

Had lunch there. Positives: Service was prompt and attentive. Butternut squash soup was fabulous! Dumplings were different and tasty. Fried chicken salad was very good; chicken was light and tasty. Negatives: A lot of seating in a small place so a little tight. Net: Highly recommend!

Excellent venue… we sat in the garden(it was a warm day) and enjoyed the eclectic menu and great ambiance for lunch… The inside is quaint and perfectly acceptable for us, but it is a little small… this allows for very attentive service. Our waiter was definitely part of our enjoyable experience; very capable & knowledgeable. He offered up a few great menu selections… definitely get the Clam Chowder… it was the best. Our entrees… equally special… we didn’t partake of dessert, instead we partook of the next door chocolate & gelato store. Overall… a great meal in a nice setting.

We arrived on a Sunday evening at 8:15, shortly before the kitchen was closing, with a ravenous 9 year-old in tow. Our server was gracious, our food arrived promptly – with a special order for the young lady – and our salad entrees were tasty, well but lightly dressed. What a lovely way to end our summer weekend in the Berkshires! I’d go back to Once Upon A Table to explore the menu further.

Had lunch here last week. Busy little place. Service was efficient and friendly. The owner(without our having to ask) moved us to a less chilly spot when he saw a person in my party wrapping herself in her shawl. I had the tomato, mozzarella, etc. sandwich which was delicious. Only complaint(and it’s a big one for me) is that the tomato was that whitish/pinkish kind that comes out of a hothouse before it’s ripe. There are better tomatoes in the supermarket right now, not to mention those growing in local backyards and small farms! I took it off my sandwich and complained. Initially the owner told me that he wasn’t happy with the quality from his supplier, either(duh! don’t accept it). Later, he offered to make up for it on the bill.

Cute little place with good food in the quaint village of stockbridge. We arrive before theatre for our 6 pm reservation only to find we had accidentally been put on the wrong day !! They called the next reservationists who agreed to be seated a few min later so we could have dinner. How accommodating is that! Returned and enjoyed the next week, The trout, and the duck were wonderful.

We always have a pleasant experience here. The restaurant is tucked away in a great little ally. It is very intimate. The food is good, nothing outstanding and no risk taking in the menu. But its always a solid option for dinner!

This address is definitely a must The service was great and the menu had a large choice of fish and meat The trout was generous, the half duck juicy and the shrimp with pasta were delicious This is really the best restaurant in town for this ratio quality /price Let’s carry on the good cooking !

This place was an all around amazing experience. The restaurant is quaint with a lovely New England feel. We started with the pot pie escargot which was very good. My boyfriend ordered the pecan crusted rainbow trout which was also very good. I ordered the roasted beef tenderloin which was amazing and cooked perfectly. It was topped with a mushroom sauce which was to die for. The food was local and extremely fresh. I would defiantly recommend for anyone in the area.

Adorable place, great food, and great prices! We stopped in for a quick lunch and had an awesome meal. The chicken sandwich and black bean burger are phenomenal. They also have wine options for lunch as well! We will definitely be back– probably for brunch tomorrow :)

My second time eating here and it was just as I had remembered — fantastic. Great staff and can’t go wrong food. Split the mac n cheese with bacon and the black bean burger with salsa with a friend. Both were perfect. Lovely cheesecake with hints of lemon for dessert. Can’t wait to be in the area again to go back. This little place is a gem.

This little gem of a place in the heart of Stockbridge provides a pleasant atmosphere and a very good Sunday brunch experience. Our host was a pleasant man who was happy to serve us, while making things quick yet relaxed at the same time. My Eggs Benedict was excellent(great fruit selection along with it, too), and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros. Everything just seemed so «fresh» and there was plenty of flavor to enjoy. The atmosphere might fare better in the warmer months, as it seemed a bit chilly inside on a 40-something degree day in November, but it is still quaint and cozy. A woman came in announcing quite loudly that she had«a bad stomach» from the night before, and she asked our host if he had any white rice. This was rather tactless on her part and rather comical on our part, yet our host was calm and pleasantly responded to her request(no, they do not have white rice FYI). Overall, we were quite impressed with our dining experience, and the price is not too bad at all. I am sure we would return here when we are in Stockbridge again.

4 stars for the food, 2 for service. In town and having lunch with a colleague(weekday, 1:30), so we stopped by and despite empty tables outside and inside, there was a line outside so we wrote our names on the clipboard and just kind of waited. She had the quiche, I had the mac and cheese, and while we enjoyed the food, the guy who seated us just wasn’t friendly to us and there seemed to be a lot of tension among the employees.

We stumbled upon this place on our way out of town a few weeks back. Very glad we did. This little spot boasts great ambiance and a nice relaxing outdoor seating area. It is located in a small courtyard just to the left of the Red Lion Inn. It shares this spot with a couple small shops including an amazing sweets shop. Good mixture of sun & shade if you decide to sit outside. The restaurant itself is far from large, but definitively quaint. Not sure how it would be for larger parties though. They do have full bar inside, but keep in mind that no alcohol can be served in the outdoor area. The staff are very welcoming, and the service is efficient. We were here for brunch/lunch. A lot great choices, but we settled on the Chatham Chicken Salad sandwich served on a very soft, fresh croissant and Roasted Salmon Greek Salad as our mains. Both were fantastic. The salmon couldn’t have been prepared better, and it was one of the better chicken salads I’ve tasted. We came hungry having knocked out long, hilly runs earlier that morning. My wife had the New England Clam Chowder which was a bit thinner than she’s accustomed to, but flavors were spot on. The thinner consistency was actually somewhat welcomed given the unseasonably warm weather. As the menu will tell you… there is bacon in the chowder. Nice touch. I started with the PEI mussels steamed in white wine & shallots. Could have eaten a monster pot of those things. Perfect. Price is decent for brunch. The dinner looked a bit pricier, but I think they source a lot of their ingredients locally so the quality will be there. Not to mention the prices are on par with many of the nicer options in the Southern Berkshires. We will definitely make this a regular stop on our trips to the Berkshires and think you should too. Not just for brunch, but for dinner as well. The dinner menu looked equally as good as the brunch/lunch offerings.

Since my mobile data failed me terribly in Stockbridge, I couldn’t rely on Unilocal to find a good spot to eat. My experience at Once Upon A Table was a simple reminder that sometimes throwing caution to the wind leads to delicious experiences. Our server, I assume the son of the owner, was relaxed, attentive and spot on with recommendations. We tried the Clam Chowder, Portobello Sandwich and Chicken Sandwich. Everything was made very well. Our favorite was the Chicken Sandwich because of the warm, cheesy ciabatta it was served on. I highly recommend coming here for a leisurely lunch on the patio :).

A quite sweet little restaurant with a the best of a small town feel. We made a stop at the Berkshires on our way to upstate New York and near Naumkeag there is this little quaint town with a small alleyway of shops and eateries among which is this little restaurant. The name Once Upon A Table really captures all the essence of its pleasant atmosphere, with a touch of almost fairy tale neatness and comfort. Our waiter was great, he was quite friendly and humorous. The owner was chatting with another table. Love this about these intimate little towns. I ordered the Alaskan Salmon burger, something not often found on menus. Boyfriend ordered the chicken sandwich. Our food came blazing fast, the salmon burger came on an English muffin, the buns are slightly crunchy on the outside and a porous softness otherwise. The salmon patty was light and has plenty flavorful, with plenty of guacamole on top, and the veggies are a fresh complement. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the delicious food and the atmosphere makes it a great experience.
