Epic. Friendly. Wonderful live music. Best pizza. Grass-fed burgers on home-made English muffins. Daily specials. BYOB.

The emphasis is on local ingredients(generally within five miles) and welcoming hospitality and music. All three have been superb the three times we’ve been here. It’s a pleasure to eat food prepared by someone who so obviously loves to cook and feed people. The music is great and well worth staying for. Nite that this is cash only and BYOB. The burgers are among the best I’ve ever eaten.

Just like home. You become part of the family and eat the homemade best. Love everything about it. Great music as a bonus!

If you are driving on Rt. 100 North near Stockbridge you should stop here. The hours are a little tricky, but it’s worth it! It is a wonderful experience. Fresh delicious food and a friendly owner. We stopped by here for Saturday breakfast and I had a delicious homemade onion, dill and cheddar bagel with egg, cabot cheddar, spinach, caramelized onions, and arrugula. She also made brioche donuts that were yummy. I hope we can go back for dinner to try out the pizza and burgers. They also have live music.

Best cold brewed iced coffee and fresh home made pizza! Places like The Fern is why people come to VT… full of friendly locals and visitors to VT. Be sure to stop for the fabulous food and baked goods and try for a Thursday or Friday for amazing music! Have been a local for 35 years… can vouch for what a great place this is.

Best home made food, not kidding… I long for her bagels, croissants, cupcakes, pizza, iced coffees and friday night dinners! The best part is, most of the vegetables and meats are local and absolutely delicious! Keep up the beautiful work Wild Fern and thank you for pleasing my stomach again and again!!! Can’t wait to return.

The best! We stopped in on a Sunday morning, turning our car around quickly as we passed and as a girl recently from the south, she makes some of the best biscuits ever! Friendly, nice, super peaceful. Everything was delicious.

Went to the Wild Fern last night for their Friday night Pizza and music. They also had a meal and soup which could be ordered, but we wanted to try some of the Pizza specials. We four ordered three pizzas, thin crispy crust, homemade by owner/chef/waitress/singer Heather. They use local ingredients whenever possible, our various pizzas included sausage, asparagus, arugula, caramelized onions… ALL were delicious and we even had a little leftover… We brought our own wine and spent two hours enjoying the excellent music of SHAKYPINES(mostly folk and some original and Irish music) The group said that they felt like they were in their living room — and that is the way we felt too. Like having a fun, casual party with good food and very talented musical friends! Definitely look forward to going again on a Friday to see what special Pizzas Heather has thought of, and what great music we can discover.

We have been here a couple times now, each time has been excellent. The bagels(«vermont style») are great texture and flavored with herbs, garlic /cheddar, always delicious. Many ingredients are local, fresh and cooked with love. The owner is kind and friendly.

The Wild Fern is a small, very local restaurant deep in the valley of the Green Moutains on route 100. Like the wild edible it is named for, though, if you want to eat there, timing is important. The hours are variable, and depending on the day and time of season, the spot serves up brunch style fare, on Sunday mornings with a cigar box music tunes, and during the week baked goods, including a bread CSA, or «CSB» and pizza and other house specials on Wednesday and Friday nights. It is a family friendly place, with funky art and christmas style lights strung along the walls, and is BYOB, so make sure you stop by the General Store in Pittsfield and get something along the way to wet your whistle. The night we went a trio called Baba Yaga played — a guitar, bass and a woman who played a clarinet, flute, concertina and miniature banjo, though not all at once. Check their blog to make sure they are open when you pass by.
