So I live right down the street from this awesome market. I don’t cook a lot so I don’t buy much of their fresh meats. But their BBQ is to die for. I come in about once a week on my way to work to pick up lunch. I’ve tried everything, and it’s all excellent. The guys are all friendly, and the service is great. If your not from the eastside, don’t be scared off by the homeless.

Time to update my review. This is a five-​star locally owned small business run by a father-​son team. Not five-​stars because it’s in an exclusive shopping center or because it’s really pretty but because of the quality of products they carry and the friendly service!
I usually get there late in the afternoon when Julio, the son is running the show.
It’s a full service meat market with a long display case full of meats ready to barbecue, fry, sauté stew… whatever you want to do with it. They also barbecue several types of meats each day including chicken, chorizo (homemade), tri-​tip and ribs.
I love their try tip sandwiches $ 6. I will usually call ahead to make sure they save enough ingredients for my sandwiches. I order them dry, with the meat, veggies and rolls packaged separately. That way if I do not eat them immediately they’re still good for a day or two.
Tonight Julio offered to let me try their homemade ceviche. I have never had it but I’ve heard about it and seen pictures of it. It’s like a seafood cocktail in a tomato type sauce. Omg… I am now sold on it. So yummy and packed with seafood… small shrimp and imitation crab. Really good. And unlike what I have read about this dish served at other places with skimpy seafood, this was chock-​full of delicious morsels from the sea!
Alegria Meat Market is located inside of Fremont Market on the corner of North Filbert and East Fremont. Stop by sometime and try out some of the goodies. Tell them that you read about them on Unilocal.
Kudos to them for feeding the homeless when they have leftover barbecued food in the evening! They deliver it to them personally…

Another bomb TriTip burrito. I love this place! Never Fails! Good for lunch dinner.

BBQ is on point here! Tri tip sandwich for $ 6 and it’s loaded with a hefty amount of meat on Genova bread. The ribs are even better and they’re not even sauced. The chicken is great too. They also make pork tamales which you can take home and heat up to enjoy for yourself. Behind the counter is Julio, who always provides great service. So even if you don’t live on the east side of Stockton go ahead and make a trip here to try the BBQ or purchase some meat. And if you do go, don’t let the bums nearby scare you away!

First time here. Great customer service. The guy behind the counter gave me a sample of the chorizo they make there. It tasted pretty darn good! I got a pound of ribs. Man were they juicy and cooked to perfection! I think this is my new go to spot when traveling through Stockton. I can’t wait to try the chicken and tri-​tip.

As a first time Unilocal reviewer I have to say this place has earned those stars. I have been in there about three times now. I have been purchasing the carne asada that comes prepared, if you ask, and every single time the meat has been the best. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. I have yet to try their deli sandwiches

Always buy the meat for our BBQs here. Friendly staff most of the time. The last 2 times, this one employee has been not so nice. I thought the customer is always right, but with him it’s doesn’t seem so. He corrects me when I order. I always order the same things, the same way. He seems to have a «smart ass» attitude. Everybody else seems not to have a problem with my ordering, just «him». Because of his «smart ass» attitude, I will take my $$$ somewhere else.

Came here because of other reviews. This place is awesome. It’s everything everyone says it is. Ribs are great with the BBQ sauce.

Let me begin by saying… they aren’t paying me for my reviews. LOL. This place is the real deal. Today I picked up some chorizo and their bbq pork ribs. I won’t bore you to death with my praise of their chorizo. Try it. You’ll understand.
The ribs are slightly smokey and cooked to perfection! The meat doesn’t fall off the bone, which is a sign of an overcooked rib. Instead, it comes off easily with a bite. And they’re very simply seasoned, complimenting the yummy, ever so slighty perfectly fatty pork. Seriously, my brother makes ribs for a living, competition quality, and these could give him a run for his money! (Don’t tell my brother!) Try them without the bbq sauce first! They don’t need it unless you just love ‘em that way.
The guilding of the lily… the service. If you’re an old soul like me and you treasure good customer service; this is the place. You’re greeted with a smile. If you have to wait in line, your presence is acknowledged. And trust me, it’s worth the wait.
They have several «family packs» which I’m anxious to try. They seem very family friendly price-​wise. And you don’t even have to call ahead to order them. When my freezer clears up a bit, I will give one a try.
In the meantime, the bbq and random dinner meat needs will keep me coming back. That and the chorizo. Did I mention the chorizo?! It’s fabulous.

3^rd visit in one month! Love there BBQ! And great customer service! Nothing but smiles and great food! This is the place to be when u want fresh Bbq and meats… A+ will be back soon
