China Express At Food 4 Less

At around lunch time, 28 May 2016, I ordered 18 pieces of garlic chicken and majority of it was old and dried out and the sweet and sour sauce had a bug in it. We don’t live in Cali but when we come to Stockton to visit, we always stop at this deli. The quality and customer service has seriously declined in the past 5 years. Hopefully they can fix these issues and represent Food 4 Less in a positive manner!

I give this place two stars because maybe the food is better when it’s fresh but I had a plate right before it closed and it was terrible and dry.

I ordered two 1 item combo plates for only $ 13.91. They hooked it up, the boxes were so full they had to use rubber bands to keep them closed. When you order the 1 item plate they fill up the entire box ½ rice and ½ whatever meat you choose. They taste bomb too.

You definitely get your money’s worth. I get a 2 item plate and I can only finish half. So good. My favorites are the sezchuan beef and the Mongolian beef. You can never go wrong with those!

I’m not a fan of chow mein and fried rice but China Express has one of the best! It’s actually one of the places that I’ll eat these two food items from.
They’re always busy here so sometime there’s a wait time.
These employees are really fun even though they’re not talking to us most of the time but they are very nice.
I would come here to pick up food when I don’t have time to cook or no kitchen to use.
I recommend this place to anyone any day!

I really like China Expresse’s wonton soup. It’s almost enough for a meal for two people for $ 5.78!
I ordered the soup tonight with pork wontons and no veggies (bok choy — I hate that stuff… almost as much as I hate cilantro!)
The soup is made fresh and is loaded… loaded! with goodies. Lots of yummy wontons and slices of barbecued pork.
When I get a craving for wonton soup the first place I think of is China Express!
I posted a pic of the soup with some of the liquid poured off so you can see the goodies and also a pic of a cross-​section of a wonton so you can see how stuffed they are!

Please do yourself a favor and never come to this place. It is disgusting, watered down, and they serve raw/​uncooked food. I’ve been here 3 times and every time I come back hoping I just had a bad experience. Never will return

When I’m craving some Chinese, I head here every time. Make sure to snag some of their sweet and sour sauce, it’s absolutely awesome on the rice.

Who doesn’t love food 4 less China express! Great fast Chinese food. Wait times aren’t ever too long. Staff are friendly and courteous. Restaurant is clean and food is delicious.

That pretty much sums it up… for me.
Disclaimer: I do not tolerate MSG in food very well. Besides hating the flavor «enhancer» it literally makes me dizzy and I get a headache if I consume much of it. So if you do not mind MSG (some people like it) then please disregard my review. I don’t care for uncooked tomatoes either… so it might be just a difference in taste for me here.
The chow mein was bland, the fried rice was bland. The teriyaki chicken was bland and had a peculiar sweet yet nasty taste (MSG…from experience), ditto for the other unrecognizable chicken dish. Just really bland and distasteful at the same time.
I could care less if the portions are big (and they are!) if the food sucks. Why, oh why, would anyone ever use MSG in food? There are so many awesome spices to choose from.
Of course, we are all different. If you like MSG or it does not affect you then you might be able to tolerate or actually love this place! Give it a try! They are very fast here.
So much MSG in this food! Have I mentioned that yet?
It is the worst food that I have had this year. Flavor sucked. Texture sucked. Just greasy nasty MSG laden food.
My daughter felt sick after a few bites and wouldn’t eat it and same here. We threw it out.
So…in conclusion…
Ugh… just awful.

I have eaten here twice because I wanted to give a well earned review. The food is very good; better than most. My issue is that it is so loud that we can’t hear each other, one is resolved to kindergarten pointing. It’s even worse if you have a dialect problem as I do; it only turns into a problem. Even though I ordered my food last night and there was only one person in front of me, it took them 30 min to figure everything out and the order wasn’t that hard. So you decide, you may get a break than I have had.

The chinese food here is okay. It’s not my favorite place to get chinese food at, but their food is okay. We usually get a two-​entrée tray and they fill it up to the top which is great. When they ask us if we want rice or chow mein, we get both. what I dont like though is when they literally mix the chow mein and rice together. and the meat is really unacceptable. the breaded ones with the sauce the sweet and sour pork. I cant even cut the meat with a fork. It’s really hard to chew. And also, their wonton soup. A few years ago, I saw at least 3 floating insects that looked like flies on top of the soup. It made me not want to eat the wonton soup from there again.

9÷7÷13 — First time coming here, lots of good foods on the steam table to choose from. My mom and I shared a combo plate of mongolian beef, pork chow mein and two long egg rolls. Lots of food and a drink, our dinner cost less than $ 9.00.
Seems funny though — just spent $ 25.00 for the same items at a well known restaurant and this was way better tasting. Will differently become a regular customer. Two combos will feed at least six (6) people. You can’t beat that! Restaurant was very clean.

We have been a customer for many years. The employees are nice and helpful. We have purchased party trays of food in the past. The price is very inexpensive and they give you a ton of food. The food is average. I ordered deep fried aparagus and it was phenomenal. Yum! The asparagus with chicken and veggies was really good as well. I don’t really care for the chow mein and the fried rice but my kids do. This is a great place to come for a quick, inexpensive fix for Chinese food.

Usually the food is great every time I go. This time the chowmein and rice was blah no flavor. The beef and brocoli was okay not really feeling it. prices are good though.
Today I ordered a one item combo plate which is supposed to cost 5.50 something and she charged me 6.20 something for it plus tax on top of that I don’t know what was up with that.
Customer service isn’t that great.
Long lines in the evening.
Disappointed today.

4 stars because service is great. Very friendly staff who hook up on portions! Other than that, the food isn’t that great but good for people who want a quick fix, on a budget or need something open late.

Good solid three stars. Not great Chinese but good Chinese take out. Service can be confusing as there is no real line. Usually crowded around supper time, allow 20 mins or so for your order. They will make chow fun for you if you ask. They over stuff all the food containers so you never feel shorted. Order a combo and another item ($ 13) and you have food for four.

If you’re looking for a quick and cheap meal, this isn’t a bad place go. They do have the most crispy fried chicken here. You can even hear it crunch when you bite into it.

Their won ton soup can use a little work. It was a bit bland for my taste, but the prices are MUY BUENO!

The combo plates are huuuge!!! If you like quantity instead of quality this is ur place. If you like to wait in the lobby with 99 other people and look around wondering who’s next in line, this is ur place. I used to love this place. But I rarely go here now.
The broccoli and beef are good. The Mongolian beef is good. I really like the sweet and sour chicken with the sauce on the side. Don’t trip on the workers talking in their language, They’re probly talking about you or one of the other 98 people in the store. Lol
