I love to come to Gleason ice cream. Every time I come I would order super nacho and it come with chill cheese, jalapeño and sour cream. It is so good. I would always come back this place. They have good customer service and friendly staffs. I would recommend this place.

Found this place the other day and thought I should give it a try. The advertised 1⁄3 lb 3 scoop waffle cone wouldn’t tip the scale over ¼ lb. The nice lil asian guy is really a cheat, he might as well have used a melon baller to scoop the ice cream since he made the scoops so small… litterally no more than 1 inch spheres. Way overpriced for what you get.

I used to come here when I was a kid. My grandma used to bring me here. But since we «moved on up» like the Jefferson’s. I somehow forgot this place. So I wanted to take my three children here to get some shaved ice. I wanted to see their faces when they tried the shaved ice here at Gleason’s Ice Cream. To me it’s all about making wonderful memories, everywhere I go. Tonight as a write this review, I’m looking at my children with a smile on my face. It’s all about love. Nice little lunch spot. Only been here once but definitely plan to go back when I need an ice cream fix. The day I went, I ordered a hot dog and then ice cream; I left stuffed! What this place lacks in cleanliness, it makes up for in customer service. The gentleman who took my order was quite friendly :)

I remember going to Gleason’s with my grandmother as a child. I was so excited to return and share the experience with a good friend. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. First, let’s discuss the aesthetics of the place now. It has completely gone downhill and seems to focus more on Mexican food than the ice cream. There was a warning not to touch the light bulbs in the windows, but it looked as though someone had gone through and touched at least half of them — they were broken/absent. In addition, over the door, a huge cobweb looked like it had been spinning there since the last time I visited in the 1980’s. The floor was simply dirty(even though the counter person came through to sweep with a broom that looked like it had been charred and burned and no longer effectively swept up anything as my friend and I sat eating our cones). The floor base tiles were broken and cracked. There was a rude sign asking that customers not plug in their phones or other devices(as though someone would spend oodles of time sitting at this location). It was also a drag listening to the counter-person complain to her co-worker about«a stupid customer who wants me to put a gallon into a quart container.» The bottom line is this place needs a serious makeover. Second, let’s get to the ice cream… starting with the cones. I was disgusted to find that ALL of the chocolate peanut waffle cones were undercooked. They were a sickly white, pale color instead of the golden brown color of the waffle bowls and banana split platters located on the bottom shelf. Even though the fading sign on the outside boasted of the ½ pound ice cream there were no waffle cones in stock that would accommodate such a feat. I was sorely disappointed with the tiny, tiny scoops of ice cream that went into the waffle cone. My waffle cone was bigger than my scoops and I hit my face on the side of the cone when trying to sample the two scoops I ordered. Now to the ice cream. The quality of Gleason’s ice cream has taken a complete DIVE. My rocky road ice cream scoop had two walnuts in it and not a trace of marshmallow; my scoop of bubblegum had all of 2 pieces of green bubble gum in it. My friend was also less than impressed at close to $ 10.00 for these two joke-of-a-cones. I definitely won’t return to this location again. I may give the downtown location a try but I think I will search out some other ice cream places in the area before resorting to that.

Crazy, scary neighborhood but haven’t had a fresher waffle cone anywhere else. There were a few in-house made ice cream flavors also but don’t expect 31 flavors… just the basics. This place has been around for decades but it was only my 2nd visit. My first visit was when I was around 9 years old! Seemed a little pricey to me $ 1.99 for a sccop on a regular sugar cone but I usually get a sundae when at the other big chain franchise so I’m not too sure on the pricing. If passing through the neighborhood I will come by again.

I walk in and say I want a double scoop cone, 1 scoop praline pecan and one scoop chocolate. I had to bascially point at what I want because of some sort of language barrier(even though she spoke english). It got to the second scoop and she said she had to ask if it was ok… ??? She asks her fellow employee and she says«oh… No… Only one scoop, we don’t do two» and stares at me like I’m supposed to know what the fuck she’s talking about. «I can’t get a second scoop?» I ask, she says no and that they don’t do that because its too expensive??? We’re talking about a place with the word«ice cream» in their fucking name. Seriously. People are fucking stupid. I get that… But BUSINESSES shouldn’t be as the stupidity gets filtered out as the business grows and becomes a success. With that said I have no idea how this place is in business. Just bizarre and an even more bizarre experience.

Thought sure I’d written a review for Gleason’s already. Every time we go to Angelina’s we think of Gleason’s since they are so close in proximity. Unfortunate; as this leads to a caloric day. Bob brought me back one scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, my favorite. One scoop I must caution you is large, I’d say at least 8 oz. 8 ounces of creamy, icy, vanilla beanie goodness that is! Dessert should be an occasional treat not an every day event and my Vanilla Bean Dream was quite an occasion! Homemade ice cream is a rarity and the only other place to get it is The Creamery. Let’s support our local ice cream makers or they may not be here forever. Oh, and if you’re in the neighborhood, just north of Gleason’s is Genoa’s Bakery, a wonderful Italian Bakery/Deli that specializes in bread; loafs, baugettes and rolls with a great to-go deli counter.

Terrible, slow service and I’m not 100% sure this place is clean. I guess it’s perfect for downtown Stockton.

The BEST Banana Split in Stockton! Banana Split(***** $ 5.29) The Banana Split is made on a 4″ x 6″ Styrofoam plate on which a flattened Waffle Cone is shaped into a «Waffle Dish», I guess. If you order the Split the«traditional» way, a scoop each of Strawberry, Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream is placed on the Waffle Dish. A split Banana is place lengthwise alongside the scoops of Ice Cream. Chocolate Topping is poured on the Chocolate Scoop, Pineapple on the Vanilla Scoop, and Strawberry on the Strawberry Ice Cream. Whipped Cream is placed on all of that and then Sprinkles and Chopped Nuts and Cherries are placed on top of that. The Split is helped dramatically by the hand-made Ice Cream… I kid you not! The Ice Cream spun until the consistency is like a piece of Cheese Cake… I’m serious! Once you feel the silky, creamy texture in your mouth, you’ll feel like I did when I first started frequenting Gleason’s! If there ever was«fluffy» Ice Cream… it’s right here. Cup of Water(FREE) As I was finishing up my Banana Split, I was thinking to myself that I usually order something else at Gleason’s… but for the life of me I couldn’t think of it. I glanced behind me at the display… there aren’t any Cookies… specifically Peanut Butter Cookies… at this location! If you’re interested in their Cookies that are baked every morning… you’ve got to stop by here…( ).
